I turned 13 and went to SFDK with a bunch of friends, it was my first trip to SFMM (and I got on X2, Tatsu, and Goliath among many other coasters), the whole thing with Obama, and I had my first gig with my band. But besides the best things, there was some crap that I can't remember right now. I'm sure next year will be even better.

Good - Got promoted, got to work on some really exciting, creative projects (one of which you'll all be seeing soon, hopefully!) - Got a new car and computer - Overall health remained positive (no trips to the hospital). - Haven't done anything stupid to make my girlfriend or friends hate me - The guy I campaigned for won Bad - The economy taking a dump caused a bunch of my co-workers/friends to be let go and left me a little unsure of whether I'll be employed in 2009 - No vacations (although this was a bit self imposed due to an upcoming trip in 2009) - Didn't get any of the writing I resolved to do in 2008 done. - Getting a STUPID cold on New Years Eve which has drained any of my energy to go out and celebrate!

gerd.muller Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 if you look back, try to remeber only the good things, that happened to you, that will give you the power to step into a bright future and handle some problems more easily! good things, that happened to me in 2008: 1. my wife, my kids my whole family and my friends, thank you for "recharging my batteries" everytime i was down! 2. my employes, thank you for the good job you did all throug the year, thank you that we managed to open the new restaurant in time! 3. my best friend josef! thank you for our florida- and italy trips, you know, i really needed some days of! and to everyone: when 2009 is over, handle it like the oasis-song: don´t look back in anger!
BlackHole2005 Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 2008 has been the best year of my life so far. Good: My First and certainly not my last glastonbury. Started actually going out instead of sitting at home on my pc. Made LOADS of new friends. Went on holiday to boston. Which was amazing. Took up guitar and now I'm really good at it. Got heavily into music and bands Became closer to my family and friends. Bad: My year 11 mock results were disasterous. Didn't really care about school much. Parents constantly havning a go about my grades (Fair enough though) Alot of problems happened this year which put me in a really depressive state of mind. Low Self- Esteem for half the year But I have to stay, I can't wait to see what adventures 2009 bring me. Roll on 2009! Cheers, BlackHole2005

We're still going through it, and the association board does nothing but collect fines. - Promotion, no salary bump. - Another year without a "real" TPR trip. Good: - Promotion (now where's my money?) - Did not have a repeat of the great kitchen water feature of 2007 (stupid water heater). - Good health - Another trip to EPCOT. - New TV.....mmmmm HD.
Wood Dragon 1988 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I had a great year. Got a new job that paid well. Worked two jobs over the summer and made a lot of money. Graduated with an associate degree. Started at a 4-year college and had the best time of my life. Got a 4.0 GPA taking 19 credits in the spring and a 3.6 GPA taking 15 credits in the fall. Went on a TPR trip. Bought a car. Rode 98 new roller coasters. Joined a new church which I actually like. Picked up a new sport (boxing) Overall really really good. Worst thing was I gained 15 pounds, which would be okay, but not if I want to do any real boxing any time soon!

Well, first it abducted me, then it brutally raped me, then it killed me, dismembered my body, shoved the pieces into trash bags, and then threw them into a dumpster somewhere near Detroit. I'm kidding, of course. I had a relatively good year.

I got married which was good, but the wedding planning itself was stressful enough to move into the bad side of things. Other then that not much really happened that was either good nor bad, so I broke out even! Hopefully 2009 will be leaning more towards good, but still, I can't complain about a neutral year! My ex-gf decided it was cool to take a dump in front of me. Hmm... Better in front of you then on you I guess.
