Olov Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 This guy's work is amazing with some mixing of random youtube instruments tuturials and such. Thru You
gerd.muller Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Hey, I´m home alone, no wife and kids in the house, so I took some time to have a look through my collection of CD´s and Vinyls. Just found a compilation called "MTV - Ibiza 2001", that I nearly have totally forgotten about and which´s stuffed with electronic funk and remixes of classic tracks like Eddy Grant´s "Electric Avenue". So happy I rediscovered it, it´s the perfect summer-sound.
Disney Dood Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 ^^ That was one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. I don't think I would have ever thought of that, and not to mention it was a pretty cool sounding song. ^ Ah, the Pineapple Express song, great stuff.
gerd.muller Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 ^ Ah, the Pineapple Express song, great stuff. Yes, but a very cool, funky and electronic remix.
hauntme23 Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I doubt anyone will agree with me but, I really can't wait until May when Green Day comes back. I've been waiting forever! American Idiot was amazing and I know 21st Century Breakdown is gonna blow me away
televisedconfession Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 ^ I'm not a Green Day fan, in the least sense. But, I too, am looking forward to that album. One of my long time idols, Butch Vig, is producing that album. He's produced for bands such as U2, Korn, Smashing Pumpkins, AFI, ect... but is most notable for producing Nirvana's "Nevermind". He's also the drummer for Garbage. So needless to say, I'm very interesting in hearing this album...
Disney Dood Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 ^ I have 21st Century Breakdown (the song) on my iPod and I'm just gonna say it's an decent song. I do understand that it's an early version of the song and a different version is going to be used on the album, but nothing about it blew me away. Know Your Enemy is going to be the first single released, BTW.
hauntme23 Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 ^ Yes! I know, I can't wait for it! Music video coming out mid-April!
texashorns82492 Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Good choice on the Ibiza 2001 album! I'm big into trance/house, but I'm starting to get more into the electro genre. Some of my favorite artists - Above & Beyond, Daniel Kandi, Mike Shiver, Jay Tech, Deadmau5, Airbase, Ocean Lab, 7 Skies and Static Blue, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Dinka... just to name a few.
FitchCoaster Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 I've been listening to a lot of ska and 3Oh!3 lately. Streetlight Manifesto is definitely my favorite ska band, with The Aquabats closely following as a 2nd favorite, just because of the quirkiness of all their music, hahaha. One of the high schools closest to the high school I go to has started a pretty kick-butt ska band, called Skamikaze! Check 'em out: www.myspace.com/skamikazehc 3Oh!3's music is just awesome. Sick beats. I just can't stop listening to their stuff.
Calicoasters Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Terrified by Rage Heaviest song from them in a while. New Drummer is pretty good!
Sticky Nicky Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 I doubt anyone will agree with me but, I really can't wait until May when Green Day comes back.I've been waiting forever! American Idiot was amazing and I know 21st Century Breakdown is gonna blow me away I already pre-ordered my copy. May 15th can't get here fast enough!
Xpress Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 So is anyone thinking the original 5 GNR's should get back together for some gigs?
YFWE Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 So is anyone thinking the original 5 GNR's should get back together for some gigs? It'd certainly be better than they have right now, I think... but I think Velvet Revolver's naming a new frontman soon, so it may not happen anytime soon. :/ On an unrelated (yet still music-related) note: http://acrn.com/media/reviews/?review=37 I just got my second review published. Cool beans.

slicknixon Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Don't bother with the new Decemberists album, especially if you're looking for stuff of the same quality as the songs from The Crane Wife.
YFWE Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Don't bother with the new Decemberists album, especially if you're looking for stuff of the same quality as the songs from The Crane Wife. I actually enjoyed Hazards more than Crane Wife... go figure.
Disney Dood Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Spent the day listening to the Grateful Dead.... yup.
no_brain_er Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 OF MACHINES- As If Everything Was Held In Place Best album of 2009 so far, IMO. If you like bands like A Skylit Drive, Emarosa, and Dance Gavin Dance, CHECK THESE GUYS OUT! They are absolutely amazing. I need to see them live now.
Six Flags Enthuseast Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Mmmm.......... Veruca Salt! Volcano Girls........ I actually found this song off Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades, and I've loved it ever since.... Man, Guitar Hero really helps you find songs you like that you never would've found before!!
socalMAN123 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Don't bother with the new Decemberists album, especially if you're looking for stuff of the same quality as the songs from The Crane Wife. Oh, I've been meaning to check out this album since I absolutely loved Crane Wife. We'll see how it compares. ---Brent
Disney Dood Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I just started listening to Yanni recently, and holy crap, that is music.
coolhandluke Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I don't care how stupid it is, "I'm On A Boat" is an incredible satire of what modern hip-hop has become: boasting about nothing, flashy videos, and ridiculous profanity. It's really a clever piece of work. Oh, for "real" music, I've been on a recent streak of listening to a lot of Rise Against and Muse. I can't get enough of "Re-Education (Through Labor)" and "Supermassive Black Hole".
