Rollercoaster Rider 1
That's oddly my Birthday. I guess Six Flags wants to give RMC enough time to do Iron Cyclone? and Colossus Steel Coaster? Well, there's a good chance one of them will be torn down to make way for a brand new RMC wooden coaster. For the Cyclone, Just follow the IR method. Restore the famous drop, add a barrel roll, and steel camelbacks.
EastKoaster 0
I was just annoyed because I was trying to understand the parks efforts of wanting to make the big announcement and I knew about the leak this morning buy I wanted the park to have all the glory for once but whatever,
EastKoaster 0
But while we are on the subject it has been hinted at by park executives that the park may be doing something more of a prototype than the normal I Box with a lift hill, if you know what I'm hinting at..... It would be a kill two birds with one stone opportunity for the park
vacoaster09 0
^or that this is the first I-box conversion for a ride located in the north east and wanting to get a head start before winter. SFMM will be in southern cali temps.
camthedominator 0
OH MY GOODNESS!!! Fantasy has become reality! By the way, has anyone considered a prototype idea like a cable lift or maybe even an electromagnetic lift hill similar to the one on Maverick. I know this idea sounds a little ridiculous nut if you think about it, the steel rails would be plenty strong to support that kind of stress and if it's an electromagnetic lift hill, they would really be killing two birds with one stone. I didn't mean a different type of lift, I meant no need for a lift, meaning a launched hybrid, something that RMC has been working on
camthedominator 0
Yeah, I think you are right. That would be a fantastic edition to the park considering it would be a world first, a huge publicity magnet, and it really bring some life back into the old thing. By the way, if you look on YouTube, there's a guy who has used No Limits to simulate what the redesign might look like... http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=Iron+cyclone+Six+flags+New+england&FORM=VIRE1#view=detail&mid=23CB79F1BA3A5A4EAFFE23CB79F1BA3A5A4EAFFE

CPSFMMCW 0
I always imagined the conversion to be a combination of medusa and NTAG. The barrel roll drop with lots of overbanks and an inversion here and there. I think this has a lot of potential.
A.J. 36
The barrel roll drop with lots of overbanks and an inversion here and there. I think this has a lot of potential. How does "lots of overbanks and an inversion here and there" have a lot of potential? If B&M or Intamin made a steel coaster like that we would call it "average".
thrillseeker4552 41
^You know, I've always thought about that too. If a company like Intamin or Mack made Goliath at SFGA, it seems as if it wouldn't get as much praise as it would if it were a wooden coaster. I may be wrong, but I've always wondered how the reactions of coaster enthusiasts would be different if the coaster was all steel, even if it had an identical layout. TheCDBurner 0
Someone on SFNE Online just posted this video of the radio announcement. July 20th confirmed for Cyclone's closing date.

camthedominator 0
Ok, that makes a little more sense, and in that case you are right. It is known for having steep inclines, a tight layout, and a nice winding course. Oh, and imagine the opportunities for airtime and rolls.
camthedominator 0
I am assuming they will be announcing at 6:30.

camthedominator 0
Also, I was reading the magazine Roller Coaster and it was a special on Sfne. It said that the manager claimed Bizarro would chance back to SROS.
camthedominator 0
Is anyone concerned that it will be demolished for good?
necoastergp 0
Is anyone concerned that it will be demolished for good? If it is it would most likely be replaced, this isn't Rolling Thunder or SFGrAdv for that matter.
