So basically, here's a recap of the improvements this season:

-Timberwolf retracking (2/4)

I had heard it was going to be done over three years. Has it been extended? Also, do you know if the retracking is finished now and if it will be ready for opening day?

I'm guessing it's over four years because the park keeps referring to it as a four year project. They have about half the ride done now. The ride is testing so I'm guessing it will be open opening day.

That's good to hear. Mamba needs some repainting. Any idea what parts have been touched up? Mamba is older than me (born in 1999) so I don't really know what it looked like when it was new. (and I guess what the ride experience was like but it's a steel coaster so I doubt it's changed.)

Also, one more question: Has anyone noticed that when you get on the ride they say Mamba is one of the "tallest, fastest, and longest roller coasters in the world"? I know this isn't close to being true, so why do they say that?

It's even in the description of the POV video on the Worlds of Fun youtube channel:

It is still the longest coaster in Missouri. That's a bit more meaningful a record, as that compares it to their two biggest competitors. It was also very briefly the tallest and fastest coaster in Missouri, thanks to the delays on Mr. Freeze.

That "in the park" statement always struck me as laughable, though. They might as well just say, "Enjoy your ride on Mamba, a roller coaster."

Thinking about taking a weekend trip down to Worlds of Fun sometime this summer, most likely in July or early August. For whatever weekend I go, I'd probably be at the the park on Friday night, Saturday (full day), and a few hours on Sunday. Is the park usually very busy on weekends (hour long waits for marquee atractions)?

I'm probably not the best person to ask but I always thought WOF was much more busy on weekends, at least in the middle of the summer. I always try to schedule my visits around August personally. In my experiences that should cut off at least 15 - 30 minute wait times... don't know for sure though. Have fun!

I would say the crowds would be somewhat big. Lines would probably average 45 - 90 minutes at most. Sometimes weekends aren't too busy at the park if it's really hot. Most of the crowd would be at Oceans of Fun. I say there could be decent sized lines but not too bad.

Boomerang cars are still in Lot B. I guess that confirms it will be closed tomorrow

When the director of operations was asked how many coasters were at the park, he only said six. You'd think someone who has been working there for over twenty years would know how many coasters are at the park. I'm not necessarily saying Boomerang is on its way out, but more of just an observation to keep in mind. Plus they just replaced the panel on the ride too. I'm sure they just ran out of time or they are still waiting for parts. Only part of the train was in the parking lot, so the others might already be on, or somewhere else..
