Six Flags Magic Mountain Tatsu Flying Coaster

Recommended Posts

It's definately not a clone. One of the contractors (Littel Construction) assured me of this, while I don't know anything specific about the layout itself, I am positive it is original.

This comes from someone who has personally welded on Riddler, Goliath, Batman, etc... So I would trust him. I'm really anticipating this announcement, as I'm finally going back to CA next May.

All of the Superman: Ultimate Flights are on flat ground. I don't think there is a flat space big enough at SFMM to put one in. (Well, there is more parking lot space! ) And you certainly couldn't put it where Tatsu is going.

It will be original, but I hope it has a longer track length than the 2700 feet of S:UF.

Does anybody know what the expected opening date for this thing is?

A few weeks ago I talked to a construction supervisor and he told me that it would be open by Easter of 06. I'm sure the actual date will be released with the P.R. Even if the Press Release does say one date it actually may or may not open though, look at Silver Bullet. The press release said December 24th, but they took it to the 7th.

Well I'll admit it for the first time in several years I'm really curious to hear the stats on this ride! I'm very glad to see that Magic Mountain learned their lesson, and decided not to send out the season pass renewals with the information on it, like they did with X and Deja Vu. While it was fun getting the info early (and more fun being the one to post it early) it did kind of take away from the surprise factor.

This ride has the potential to revive magic mountain into a "theme park" as opposed to a semi themed amusement park. We all know X, DV and scream failed in the theme departments, whereas Ninja, RR, BTR, STE, Goliath, Viper and even Psyclone all were very good atempts at themeing, even if not well received. I just hope if this ride is themed heavily it will be maintained as such. Goliath's queue is pretty carved up at the bottom of the stairs.

^Yeah, but for the majority of us who are not invited, when will we know???

Who is going to report for us? R&E? Or will we just have to log on to the sixflags webpage, hoping that the info we all crave will be posted.

I really want to see a rendering. The reveal is a day away but how long till we get to see the good stuff here or at their web page???

Anyone?

I don't think that their doing any big media event for the "Grand Announcement." I think that they are just posting to their website.

I am off tomorrow. If there's enough interest, or if someone knows for sure. I can run by there at 9:30 ish tomorrow. Snap a few pics, and get some video.

If it really is announced at 12 AM, I'm gonna be waiting all day for the announcement to come...I decided not to look at coaster sites for a couple days so time would fly by faster, and it sure as hell has! Anouncement tommorow and I'm so ready to see this puppy!

I don't care how big it is or what it does, its a terrain flyer!

I'm on call for jury duty this week, so I'm supposed to call each evening before to see if I have to show up. This morning, I completely forgot and called about two hours late (didn't have to show up after all).

My point is that I will most likely forget all about Tatsu and won't get the info till I go online later in the day.

I guess my interest in these things is sort of waning...

I might have heard a little something today, and I think you will all be pleased

I wouldn't be staying up extra late tonight just to find out the details. Just as they can set it to show up "as soon as the 17th day of November begins" they could pin it down not to show up until, say, 1800 Greenwich time (10AM Pacific). Don't be let down if it doesn't show up tonight, when I went to the Goliath announcement the info was released less than an hour before the announcement :? Besides, if you stay up too late you may sleep in too long and be the last kid on the block to hear the news in the AM
