I am curious. For everyone that ranks TTD higher than KK why? The only difference is a little speed and that bunny hill at the end. What makes TTD better? IMO the experience is almost the same and I really couldn't tell you which one I liked better. Maybe I am missing something. Is it the racecar theming?

^Dragster's launch is more forceful (yet not as rough/bumpy), it crests the tophat with more speed, and there are NO OTSRs!

^

El Toro > Mean Streak

There, that's more like it.

Gemini > Rolling Thunder

Raptor > B:TR

Corkscrew > GASM

Dare to challenge me further?

KK has become really rough. And people feel that otsr's are not as good compared to the lap bars on Dragster. For me, although Dragster was smoother, the launch didn't feel as intense as KK. And the twist coming down from the tophat didn't give me the lateral g's I feel on KK.

I also love the view at the top of TTD. Not that you can see it for very long, but the aerial view of Millennium Force is just incredible.

And yeah, I love the lap bars. So awesome.

^ Yes. Gemini is a steel/wood hybrid. So it is technically not a wood. So....

Blue Streak vs. Roller Thunder would be more appropriate.

And there is no need for a challenge. Once again, this is all opinion.

I also think with Wiggle's World and new coasters like The Dark Knight, SFGAdv is a better rounded family park. I know the kids section in CP got a makeover this year, but it really stunk when I was there. With that said there is only one park where I can ride 17 coasters in one day. (And I did!)

I think CP is better for families. Great Adventure has 4 kids areas which all are nice but there is very little for people in between kiddie rides and big rides. There are also very few tame rides. Cedar Point has Space Spiral, 3 antique car rides, the Paddleboat, Bumper Cars and way more flats.

For me, if SFGAd only had El Toro and Nitro and CP had all 17 of their coasters - I would still choose SFGAd. There are only a handful of coasters that I would put in my own "elite" class and while CP has plenty of "good" rides, none of them are elite to me. However, El Toro is certainly in that elite class.

I didn't dislike CP at all. I just found it to be MEH and simply an amusement park. So many people claimed this as a destination resort that when I finally made it a destination I was not only disappointed in the hotel but the park itself.

The ride selection is good but nothing was above average IMHO. MF was down that day so I will go back at some point. TTD is basically no better or worse than Ka. I did think that Magnum was fantastic. I enjoyed it more than Desperado and I loved that ride.

GADV seems to have something more. It is almost completely in the woods and shaded SANS the Boardwalk area. The coasters range from 2 at average to the remainder being above average to fantastic (Toro).

Maybe I am biased since I worked there for three years and have been going since 78 but I enjoy just going to the park to sit at the lakefront and relax.

IMO---CP is in a terrible location.

Since it is right next to Lake Erie, perhaps CF should reconsider its rain policy just for this park b/c it rains so frequently.

I'd say it's a positive/negative thing.

-Limited Space

-Weather Conditions

+Very nice views from rides

+Unique location

+Any park with a beach next to it is nice!

There is a guy on here named Skip, and I talked to him at West Coast Bash about TTD vs. KK. (For those of you who went on the Midwest trip, you know who I'm talking about.) In addition to everything else that has been mentioned, he said that one major thing is missing from KK: spectators. TTD has a little grandstand set up so you can watch it launch from a good perspective, allowing for good photo opportunities as well. You can also walk along the entire length of TTD. Those things are not true with KK. There is no grandstand, and you can't walk along side it. It's much harder to get good photos of KK. Do you agree?

Yeah, what RIP said. When you're on Dragster, it's like you're the center of attention. Everyone's lined up along the ride, and usually a good crowd right next to the launch area. People are just standing there amazed at the ride, and it's an awesome interaction with the guests. TTD has the sounds, the crowds, the looks, and an incredible ride. Also, the cars are really cool; and the seats are great. I guess you could say they are aerodynamic? Anyways, you have a lot of freedom with only a lap bar holding you in. It just adds to the all around awesomeness that this ride has. My #2 favorite coaster.

The thing with that is, Kingda Ka did have a spectator area (granted, it wasn't "grandstands") but it had to be removed when the accident occured. There was a very long queue line leading up to the station (could have held about a 7-8 hour line) but it had to be altered, and the spectator area had to be taken out because it was too close to the track and Six Flags and Jackson Township didn't want to take any chances of there being another accident.

^^That's really unfortunate that had to happen. It would've really helped with the atmosphere around that area (of course I hear it is well-themed around there). As stated before, it does wonders around Dragster.

I was initially psyched to go to Cedar Point, but it wasn't what I had hoped for. Sure they have a lot of coasters, but I couldn't help but notice everything they had were basically just slapped down. Nothing I rode there exceeded my expectations. Kinda Ka and Dragster are basically the same ride. I actually find the airtime hill on Kinda Ka to be a great addition, but am dissapointed in the restraints. Medusa is wayyy better than Mantis. I will compare El Toro and Maverick. However I have not ridden Maverick, so I will call them equal. Nitro edges out Millenium Force. MF has the great first drop and the pure speed, but I don't feel it has much else. Nitro has a solid first drop, and floater air on every hill. Again, this is an opinion, but I will stay with it. Raptor edges out Batman. I have only ridden that green monster once, and would love to go on it again, because I do not remember it that well. But I know that Batman delivers a very powerful ride in a short amount of time. I only like Raptor a little better because of the length. The Dark Knight, while not amazing, is better than Disaster Transport, Corkscrew, and Wildcat combined. Again just my opinion.

I am not going to go into every roller coaster, just the major ones. But I do feel that if GADV could have fixed Batman and Robin the Chiller to run consistently, it would have been a better investment that The Dark Knight. That ride was unique, and intense. I truely do miss it.

While GADV lack flats, overall the atmosphere is more pleasant. With the addition of new, highly themed areas, Six Flags is heading in the right direction. I can't wait to see what they are adding in 2009!

Just quoting...

haha I was doing that based on other peoples opinions of both rides. Some say they like El Toro better, while others think Maverick is better. I was being honest, cause El Toro is easily the best coaster at Gadv.

If you've never been to either I'd say go to Cedar point just because it's "Cedar Point." My preference of the two is Great adventure, but only because I want to ride El Toro and Nitro over and over again.

They're both great parks to enjoy.

Ah, I guess I see what you meant. Arguably the best steel/wood of the parks, so since they both have a supporters from both sides the vote is neutral. Alright, I was confused and I thought it sounded funny!

I may get in trouble for this, but Maverick wasn't that great for me. It was a really really fun ride, but was not that intense and I didn't come back amazed like I did on other rides such as The Voyage. Yes, it was my favorite ride at Cedar Point, but it doesn't even make it into my top 10 coasters. Granted, I only rode it once in the middle row.

Anyone else find Maverick just fun, instead of thrilling or intense? Or is it just me?

I didn't ride in the middle row, and I'd have to say it was very intense. The drop, airtime hills, turns, dives. I rode in the front and back; and both rides were absolutely awesome!

Millennium Force is a coaster the coaster that I'd define as not intense, but really really really fun.

^How did MF lack airtime? I get major ejecter air on every hill!

I've gotta say, I've ridden the thing well over 50 times and have never experience anything remotely near ejector air on it. There have been a few times I've got some strong floater, but there are only three real opportunities to get airtime on the ride, and two of them have little to no airtime. That's just my thoughts though. Maybe we have different definitions of "ejector" air.
