Tmcdllr
.....During the Q&A at CGA during Bay Area Bash, we were told by the management that the woodie is indeed coming to the park in the next few years. They also told us, that while the neighbors expressed some legitimate concerns about noise levels coming from the coaster that could indeed disturb their workplace, a sound test was done that indicated the sound was within acceptable levels. They were expressing their concerns, is that such a bad thing? So if this stays on track, then this could be the "gateway coaster", the one that starts coasters to be built here once again...lol I think it's interesting that they also mention the noise concerns by the neighbors, which makes me think the coaster will (most likely) go around the tower right next to them. Otherwise, if it was (possibly) going in the other location then why would they mention that? You know, we all have waited this long, one more season isn't going to kill us. It sucks waiting more but it will be here before we know know it.
Angry_Gumball
If I remember right, there was an 'assumed noise level' and the actual noise levels that were mentioned. There are noise requirements the park does have to abide by. I believe a lot of this noise level stuff was finally ironed out (not sure if that was mentioned at the Q&A, honestly don't remember). Skycoastin Steve
They should just build this GCI in a building and call it a day.

It sucks waiting more but it will be here before we know know it. That's good to know, that the noise levels will be tolerable for the offices there, like noted, if it is built around the Star Tower. I always thought though that they were not that close, there is a considerable distance between the coaster site and the offices, in addition to the parking garage for the office and Great America's section of parking lot. True, it has been this long waiting for the wood coaster, hopefully though for next season we'll at least see something on the Invertigo site. Angry_Gumball
I think they said that the "Inverti-garden" will remain a garden for the time being when I had asked them...which I'm guessing next season it will still live its life as 'the green.' I think they were a bit shocked or whatever you want to call it when I asked and even called it the "Inverti-Garden." They all know what we're talking about Or, if you're crazy enough (I discussed this with a couple TPR members) you can run around in the grass, do back flips and have your own imaginary coaster...after all, Survivor is the first "Reality Coaster" thus everything else is imaginary
jab88
Too bad there might not being anything on it next season, but at least you asked about it. I, like almost everyone else, I'm sure have wondered what was planned for it. I still get asked from time to time what is going to replace Invertigo by the general public, to which I still tell them that I don't know what will be. With the talk of the coaster going in revived, I'm hopeful they will put something on the site and do have plans for it beyond it's current use as 'the green'. And looking at the Invertigo site on google maps, surely that pond could be filled in to further enlarge the area, they did, after all fill in a pond (for the most part) for Firefall to be put in. True, there is always that use for 'the green' running around, using your imagination, having fun, something many now days don't do as often
robman
I know what they are putting on the other side of the Action Theater now! An Invertigo simulation so that everyone will be quiet now. All jokes aside,I was in the park for the evening and all I have to say is night rides on the Demon are a lot better!

But for some reason this season seemed very short, Haunt is just around the corner already! Disappointing that "the green" will be probably be there next season, so I'm not really expecting anything new for 2012. Unless they were planning on taking something else out for a new attraction. The future is beginning to look bright for CGA. Can it be 2013 already?

CoasterBeagle
I had a guest come up and ask if we had a swing ride that goes around. I said flying eagles is right down the way. Then they said no it's tall like drop tower and goes in circles. I was like sky screamer is at sfdk. They said damn we are the wrong park. After I was done checking seats I told them that I'm not telling you to not go to six flags but if you have an intense fear of heights with just a metal bar holding you in then I recommend not going on it. They looked pretty scared after that.

On the subject of guests and questions they ask about rides, I once had a guest come up to me and ask if the park still had Tidal Wave/Greased Lightning ( I guess it had been years since they went to the park, or they really just did not know that coaster has been gone, long gone from the park) There also was this one other guest who every week (sometimes even every few days) come through my line and ask me the same questions about Invertigo and what's going on with where it was, though I had just answered them for him the last time I saw him, however I have not seem him around lately. greatamerica1990sfan
^^^^CoasterBeagle is your name Alama? I went on Flight Deck Friday right at opening-went on it twice in a row. I might have seen you.
Bolliger&Mabillard
I will admit Bay Area Bash was a lot more fun than what I expected out of it. I think that having a smaller group of people really helped control the feel of it. And I got two Invertigo wheels (My girlfriend gave me hers) So woot woot on that! Angry_Gumball
^Lucky! Well, I could steal my cousin's guide wheel...nah, I'll be nice, she treasures her piece of Vekoma A road wheel's enough for me (for now anyway)...those suckers are heavier than I thought...was a long walk up to the front of the park. Yea, it was nice to walk around and hang out with different groups, got to meet a handful of members. The largest group I had with me at one time was when we rode Firefall all decked out with our Firefall "First Rider" shirts. We sure did get some strange looks from the GP however. Honestly, it was easier to find TPR members at the CGA event than it was at SFDK, possibly because of SFDK's layout? Or was it because everyone was still wearing their yellow Firefall shirts? ABW
Now remember everybody, CGA has Krispy Kreme, a quality not represented by all Cedar Fair parks.
Angry_Gumball
What ABW said...too bad it's not there for park guests Want Krispy Kreme? Too bad, you can't get any (unless you work for CGA)
jab88
^ Having Krsipy Kreme donuts is one of the things I like, it's also the cheapest item they sell in the cafeteria-at 86 cents- and when they are buy one get one, it's even better- usually on the weekends only, I'll save one for a snack later on in the day. But there are times that it will be a few days before they come to restock the donuts, leaving the case empty otherwise for those few days. CoasterBeagle
I actually had more people ask me where invertigo is today then the entire season. It's like you didn't see the green patch or the fact it's been gone the whole season. I just tell them it's in PA if they want to ride it. Though one day a girl told her mom the reason they took down invertigo is because cga has to many rides with dangly legs. I didn't even correct her because it was funny. jab88
^ Have you had the guests ask why it was removed as well, that's almost always what they ask me after they find out Invertigo is no longer at Great America. I'll tell them I really don't know what lead to it's removal-which is true, we really don't know why it was removed, but many assume we do. CoasterBeagle
^yea and I just say what cedar fair's press release was "it was taking down for a new coming attraction" the catch 22 to that is the don't give a time limit on the press release so the gp can assume away.
