California Great America (CGA) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody!

This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at California's Great America, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page.

Hey everyone!

The nice PR people at Paramount's Great America sent me some new photos from their latest Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay Beach expansion (slated to open May 7).

More information can be found here: http://www.pgathrills.com/

Here's a taste of what is going on behind the scenes.

Excavation has begun on the new heated lagoon that will hold 150,000 gallons of water and will offer guests plenty of room to swim, splash and float!

If people would say , “The capital originally intended for CGA was repurposed for KI instead”, that makes more sense. But saying a coaster went to park A instead of park B... there’s absolutely no way

Oh yeah, no complaints alright. I just hope all this virus crap doesn't affect our 2021.

Just found out not too long ago the parks in our area can reopen but Santa Clara county is forcing them to stay shut. In other news, scbb might be the first to open under newsoms new guidelines.

Two things...

1. Dude, they have a ride involving a Wombat!!! That rules!

2. Very cool having a zero depth entry lazy river...should improve lines getting in and out!

I wouldn't count it as a coaster, but that's just one man's opinion.

Hopefully that rust color isn't in the final color scheme but I would imagine it is, the green's OK.

Just good to see them get something new without taking something else away.

Not putting in my opinion on whether it's a coaster or not (it'll surely be counted as one by the park) but the Whizzer @ SFGAm and formerly at PGA were powered in the cars. The cars had a cog that would move them up the spiral lift.

Now the question....Is this a coaster?

As the official butt of jokes on the subject of whether something is a credit or not:

There is NO WAY I can endorse this candidate to be elevated to the subjet of credit.

Sorry. Not gonna happen. Definitely not. NO.
