robman Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 ^ I couldn't agree more! Just imagine how high the attendance could rise with a brand new coaster in the park. It could possibly bring people out from the greater bay area also.
ABW Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 You mean, they might actually put something in when what's happening is no different than what happened last year? Why not remove another ride? 2010 saw a rise in attendance too you know. You guys make me laugh. Â -Dick Kinzel

KDCOASTERFAN Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 At this point, I think any activity (ride-related) is a plus for us to see. I just cross my fingers and hope that one of these days we'll start seeing something. Realistically, I can't see a parent company (seeing that the park is in fact profitable, and seeing that attendance is growing with their marketing ideas) keep this going with not adding anything to the park. Â I highly doubt that anything new is coming to CGA for 2012 as WOF is high on the list of parks rumored to be getting the final windseeker for 2012. Â The fact that the park is turning a profit without investing in n ew rides tells me that CF see's no reason to invest in the park for next year.

Canada's Wonderland isn't turning in a profit which is why they got a $28 million new ride. I see your logic....
RAWKIN_coaster38 Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 ^ I couldn't agree more! Just imagine how high the attendance could rise with a brand new coaster in the park. It could possibly bring people out from the greater bay area also. It would bring in me, not even from the Bay Area, and probably people from the Sacramento area as well. Â They really should get a new coaster, but I don't think they're going to do it for 2012. In the least , it would compete significantly with the new coaster at SFDK. If I were them, I'd wait it through 2012 (and maybe add a flat ride or something small) and then pull all the strings for something really cool for 2013. By then they could announce it mid-to-late-2012 and market it for all it's worth. I think I'd rather wait and have them do something really cool and build up the anticipation, then them slap something random down and/or have tons of delays and not get it opened when it was expected. Â You know what? They should relocate Zonga just for kicks.
Flagg O'Dim Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Haunt map is up:  http://haunt.cagreatamerica.com/_upload/californias_great_america/attractions/map/2011_haunt_map.pdf  Maybe I misunderstood, but wasn't Dead Man's Cove supposed to begin at Witch Doctor's Trail's old spot? The map shows DMC starting at the Kidzville bridge, and stretching out to Black Widow's Cavern. The bridge by Firefall is blank... guess I have to wait and see if they added anything in the bridge.
Angry_Gumball Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I actually saw the map about a week or so ago and noticed that as well. Would have been cool to see the Boomerang Bay plaza as the new DMC but that would be quite a huge stretch. The kids area at night is pretty dark as well so that's fine with me! Â I'm trying for another visit this Sunday, not sure if anyone cares to try meeting up. If so, shoot me a PM!
robman Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I guess they decided to change it. The scare zone should still be very well done. Â Â Â Â *Only 14 more days until Haunt!
ABW Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 What Billy just said. If anyone is having a desire to go to CGA on Sunday for some light crowd ERT and other fun. If you'd like to hang with us, just send us a PM or post it on here. September on a Sunday is always a great time to visit the park as crowds are usually VERY light.
rolercstrluvr Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 ^ I might come tag along with you guy's. I want to check out the decorations for the haunt.
Angry_Gumball Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 ^Sounds good! I'll be in proper theme park attire, wearing a TPR shirt of course. Highly looking forward to the light September crowds and hope to have some ERT-like sessions on some of the rides!
Zeppelinfreak Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Can somebody going Sunday take pics of the haunt progress, I would really appreciate it.
Angry_Gumball Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I plan on taking my camera just for that, and for just other random happenings at the park.
robman Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I wish I could come along with you guys but Im having new internet put in so I can't make it. Maybe we can try to coordinate some sort of Haunt meet up?
gdoggy1678 Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Heres a video of Flight Deck during Bay Area Weekend showing off the epic line, and some photos at the end of the behind the scenic tour. Also i forgot to get footage of the inversion in front of the entrance, so dont mention it
Angry_Gumball Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Cool video, nice to see our very spread out group on Flight Deck and the lack of any GP in the area.
Nibbler Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 All the mazes are pretty close to being done, all final touches are being done, only one left to build is BWC which won't take too long.. I got to walk through Slaughterhouse today, I will say this much.. it will NOT disappoint you, if you go to the park tomorrow i'll be helping out with Karaoke, come say hi
Angry_Gumball Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Will try to make it a point to visit you tomorrow, you just won't catch me doing karaoke! This will probably be the first time meeting you in non-zombie/undead form.
greatamerica1990sfan Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Does anybody have a link to that permit page? I'd like to check every day too. Thanks. Who knows maybe they do have something good up their sleeve waiting to surprise everyone. See BGW just announced their coaster so there is still hope.
Angry_Gumball Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Being as I'm making my way to check the page now, here's the link: http://smartpermit.santaclaraca.gov/tm_bin/tmw_cmd.pl?tmw_cmd=ParcelViewParcel&shl_prc_parcel_no=104%2042%20019 I am pretty positive that we would see activity on this before we see any announcement from CGA. I mean, it would be a bad idea for CGA to announce their latest inverted wooden floorless standup 4d aquatrax without having even the proper permits to even get it built.
greatamerica1990sfan Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 So Physco Mouse as you can see got a permit date of 9/12/00 so the big announcement will come by the end of the year if it doesn't come this month. & Vortex got a permit on 11/2/90. So yeah. Don't give up hope.
CoasterBeagle Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I'll be working tomorrow as well but on delta so come say hi if ya want. I'm not as cool as nibbler though
Angry_Gumball Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I'm sure I'll make it a point to ride the buckets across the park, a great way to zip from the front and back. Delta's the end by Flight Deck, right? I always found it funny that the ride has 2 names, depending on the direction you're going.
