I hope that they paint nighthawk black and purple to match the sign. It would look much better that way.

I agree with the general consensus about adding a few flat rides. However, i would not bet money on us getting any right now unfortunately.

Man...I would have rather it be anything other than this. I guess competition isnt what the park is into because im sure it would have been cheaper to get a spinning coaster like spinning dragons in that spot than the boomerang, but then people would complain about another kiddy coaster lol. Needless to say im not shocked about this at all with the record of the park nothing ceases to amaze me anymore.

I'm just happy CF is giving carowinds something. They could easily just close the park or give us nothing at all so any coaster is a good move for a park with not alot to do.

 

This is also a way of getting a free coaster to save more money for the big one in 2010.

 

If you don't like what the park is doing then by all means don't go.

Carowinds should not be worried about the competition. It has not effected the park the last 10 years or ever imo and will not effect the park 10 years down then road. Even with HRP, KD & SFoG Carowinds seems to do a good job breaking attendance records every year by adding kiddie rides and water park expansions so why change a good thing.

 

And to all those ungreatfull people over at CC crying and fussing about the coaster just get over it. please go visit another park that will fulfill your needs. Shorter lines for me when i go next year.

 

Just saying if carowinds annoucnes a huge hyper in 2010 every single one of you will be back on the other side of the fence praising CF and saying what a wonderful job they are doing.

 

Thankfully i don't run Carowinds cause if i did i would just put in small used coasters every year so the the babies won't buy a SP.

When are relocated coasters free? Still have to pay to move it, pay to set it back up, pay for landscaping.

The people thought the same things in new orleans about the levy's...Alot of parks are doing a broader range of advertising now. Carowinds is maintaining right now.

Again how much money do you have to loose? No one is begging for a hyper coaster either. At the most people would like to see more flat rides and waterslides at carowinds.

QueenCityBoy..... just ignore what some people say. You unfortunately cannot please everybody. In my opinion your the most helpful person on this forum because you've actually worked there and have been there for past projects. You know from past experiences just how long things can take to happen.

I really like this addition. It gives me one more reason to not get excited about a visit to Carowinds. I mean, if they put in something good, then I'd actually have to consider making a trip.....and with gas the way it is, I thank you, Cedar Fair.

 

Eh, maybe if they eventually add something besides a good B&M invert, it'll inspire me to get there one day. That is, if it happens before 2012.

On another note let's all just forget about the rumor going around that Cedar Fair is dumping Nickelodeon. just think of the money they would have to spend re-themeing everything at all para-parks not to mention the millions in sales they would loose yearly.

 

Oh..... Of course the fact that they just completely re-themed camp Snoopy into Nickelodeon Universe.

 

Now why would they do that if they were planning on dumping Nick in the next year or two.

 

Now i could see universal dumping Nick since that contract is up either this year or next & people don't really go to Universal for Nick. Not with the Nick Hotel down the road but thats a different topic.

yep.... Not to mention the park will advertise it as the tallest coaster in the park which the GP will eat up.

Am I happy about this coaster, no. I think this would be something great for a small family owned park but not for a park as big as carowinds.

^ yeah, really. What did that have to do with the topic? besides, most of them are probably privately owned. As for headspin going to carowinds, I could really care less. Am I happy about CF's decision, no, never would I think that a boomerang would be a wise decision for a park as big as Carowinds. I personally think that they are making an unwise decision. Will I still go to the park? yes, of course I will go there plenty of times. Will I cry and whine if carowinds does not get a major coaster next year? certainly not. however, I believe it is in the best interest of the park to add either a coaster, or some new flats sometime soon to keep attendance up.

I think its an alright ride for Carowinds to get, would I rather I be something launched from Intamin or Premier, of course. But at least it better than a used Yo-Yo. I just wish we would get a Top Spin.
