cobra_roll06 Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Source taken from the BBC news website. Britney Spears has been carried out of her home on a stretcher and taken into custody after police were called in a dispute involving her children. "While officers were at Britney's home they found that Britney appeared under the influence of an unknown substance," officer Jason Lee told the BBC. "She is being taken into custody for evaluation," he added. The 26-year-old singer and ex-husband Kevin Federline are wrangling over custody of their two young sons. 'Breakdown' Police were called to Spears' home at 2000 local time (0400 GMT) over a family custodial dispute that they tried to resolve "peacefully by court order", Mr Lee said. After nearly three hours, Spears reportedly handed over her children, two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James, to Federline. Federline has temporary custody of their children because Spears, who has limited visitation rights, failed to comply with court orders. The pop star's lawyers filed a court motion earlier this week asking to be relieved as her representatives due to a "breakdown" in communication. Spears and Federline were married in October 2004 and divorced in July 2007. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7171051.stm
ginzo Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 You know she's hit bottom when she loses custody to K-Fed. K-Fed, the responsible parent.
Moose Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 BritBrit all stretched out, who would have thunk it.
crazyrider06 Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Brittney spears is so stupid. Keep doing shit like this and she will never get to see her children. Lets hope her sister isn’t the same way once she has her child.
Homer Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 You know what's sad though, I'll actually have to agree with that Chris Crocker guy for once and say "Leave Britney alone." I'm tired of seeing Spears all over the darn place as if it is the most important news in the world since 9/11. Britney Spears is high on meth, Jamie Lynn Spears is knocked up, Kevin Federline is actually sane. For all I know, I want at least 3 months with no news about the Spears family at all. That would just be lovely.
Chrissie Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 ^ Haha! Me too! This was the 2nd "important" story on the news this morning. Madness!
BeemerBoy Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 The only sad part about all this is the way these poor children are being raised. As for the continuing coverage of train wreck Britney, I have NO sympathy for her. To become an A-list star as big as she became, the symbiotic relationship with the media is essential. Crap like TMZ, Entertainment Tonight, etc. is what propels you to superstar status, whether justified or not. True, some paparazzi is pointlessly over-the-top and needlessly obtrusive, but for every Britney, Lindsey, or Paris, there's dozens more A-listers that handle the media blitz with class and wit about it. It's the weak-minded fools like Brit who succumb to the pitfalls of fame and wealth.....and to them, I say they get what they deserve. The children, on the other hand, unfortunately are not getting what they deserve.
coasterdude5 Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 I believe she needs help. I do have a bit of sympathy for her, even though she doesn't deserve it. I think she needs to be taken out of the country for a few months. Maybe not a "rehab" but someplace she can go and try to get a breath of fresh air from her life in California. The kids are better off with Federline right now.
dandaman Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 From cana(b)a.com: It had to happen sooner or later. In news that surprises absolutely no one, Britney Spears has been hospitalized and is under psychiatric evaluation after a four-hour stand-off with the police for refusing to hand over her sons to Kevin Federline. Oh, how we wish we were making any of this up. Around 8 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 3), police were called to Spears' home in Studio City, Calif., "about a custodial dispute regarding Britney Spears's children," LAPD officer Jason Lee said in a statement. "While officers were on the scene, they observed Ms. Spears under the influence of an unknown substance," Lee added. "She is now being taken in for an evaluation, more than likely to a hospital. There were no reported injuries to anyone involved including the children." People magazine reports Spears was supposed to hand over sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, to Kevin Federline's bodyguard at 7 p.m., but she locked herself in a room with her youngest son and refused to give him up. The court-appointed monitor called the police and Federline, his lawyer, and the cops were spotted arriving at the house an hour later. "[The monitor] had already put Preston in the car when Britney locked herself in a room with Jayden," a source tells People. "The cops came and got through the door and tied her down to a gurney." Soon, the singer's estate was crawling with police, fire trucks, two ambulances and a police helicopter. A disoriented-looking Spears was spotted being shuttled into an ambulance while strapped on a gurney (footage of which is conveniently flooding the Net this morning). In the video, Spears is clearly seen laughing and talking to the ambulance attendants. "They had to strap her down like a mental patient and she was going between laughing and hysterics," a source tells Us Weekly, calling it "a total psychotic breakdown. She just went crazy." Federline and Spears' father, Jaime, were spotted at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where the singer is currently being held under a 72-hour mental lockdown. Federline took his sons home on Friday morning, reports People. According to TMZ, his lawyer, Mark Kaplan, will appear in court today to petition to strip Spears of her visitation rights. Another Mickey Mouse Club member succumbs to the horrible fame and fortune she's had to endure and subsequently flip the bird to.
ebl Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 The only way Britney could get any lower is if they'd dropped the gurney! Eric
Zen Coaster Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Oh well maybe she can console herself by trying another wacky hairstyle...
FitchCoaster Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I really, really want to feel sorry for her, but she's doing it all to herself. I'd love to hear news about Britney getting better, but unfortunately it's always just news about her getting worse. I'd rather not hear about Britney in awhile. I say stop all this news about Britneyfor now, and not have any more news about her until she returns to "normal". ...which I think is going to be awhile, and that's fine with me.
Zen Coaster Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I'm sure Michael Jackson will manage to do something that gets the limelight off her for awhile anyway. Actually come to think of it, why the hell doesn't BRITNEY have a coaster named after her yet? We should do that though. Determine what the most screwed-up credit on the planet is and start up a campaign to have it named in her honour.
EJ Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 People are forgetting a few things here. First, she's not Paris or Nicole or any other "born into fame" star. She's been working since age 11. Her first album went DIAMOND at age 18. At 19, she sold 1.3 million copies of her sophomore album in ONE WEEK. She was beyond huge and, whether she asked for it or not, was a force. She had several sold out world tours and seemed to be working non-stop before 2004. Whether or not you like the product she was selling, her team was pushing her 24/7. Her fans that know her understood her shy, humble, and adorable personality before she met K-Fed. That was all the beginning of the end and although that was solely her fault, she lost her husband and sole custody of her kids in a short period of time at such a young age. Imagine going through that, in front of the WORLD. Second, she's a human being. I personally could care less about Anna Nicole but was shocked when I heard about her OD. The fact that Britney is potentially headed that way is terrifying. The fact that everyone seems to have forgotten about what happened to Anna Nicole so quickly is sad. Brit is in a downward spiral and no one is helping her. Everyone is just WATCHING. My rant is over. Just sad to see all this happen to one person in such a short period of time.
Team Thriller Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 ^ People are watching because she is famous. of course everyone is going to hear about it. But she doesn't need to do what she is doing. I hope it doesn't make her fans mad or sad. Whats next... she gets a sex change. --James
dandaman Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 ^The thought of "Bradley Spears" scares me even more than the current situation.
Ccron10 Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Whats next... she gets a sex change That's the grand finalie. I show no sympathy for her or her sister. To me, they are just great examples of when fame goes to your head a little too much. I hate those kinds of people.
slither37 Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 What is it with Brittney spears? Why does anyone pay attention to her??? I have long lost interest in the "skank" trio, Lohan, Hilton and Spears.
downunder Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 She is getting more and more like the send up of her on Robot Chicken.
socalMAN123 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 The best thing ever was if at Haunt this year, they made a Britney Spears character in The Asylum. ---Brent
BarryH Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Britney Spears...going on "The Surreal Life" in 3...2...1...
downunder Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Oh well, let's just go back to a time when she was really hot. I hear her new album is actually quite good, well at least for crap I wouldn't listen to.
