DILinator
I'll warn you now that I have a complete love affair with Arrow suspendeds so my opinion may not be the norm, but if someone told me Vortex was their favorite coaster at Wonderland I wouldn't be able to argue with them... I prefer Leviathan but Vortex is outstanding. You won't get any argument from me! I'd definitely say Vortex is by far my favorite Arrow Suspended Coaster that is still in existence! The only one I've ridden, that I liked more, was Big Bad Wolf at BGW. Obviously, Eagle's Fortress looked AMAZING, but I'll never get to ride it now, so let's stop talking about it... Ninja, The Bat, and even Iron Dragon all have their moments, but I was VERY impressed with Vortex, and considered it a Top 3 coaster at CW! (That was before Leviathan and after Behemoth.) canadianparkfan
Minebuster hasn't been a quality ride since it was re-profiled about 15 years ago. I don't think that park knows or cares about how to properly maintain a wood coaster, and that's too bad. Time Warp and Flight Deck are both total garbage IMO and I'd be more than enthusiastic to see them gone. As far as Marineland goes, the owner is a packrat and has a bunch of totally random garbage sitting in fields (train from Yugoslavia, boat ride, other nonsense) around there that will never be put up. He's also cheap as hell and the kind of individual one might suggest is a scumbag. I wouldn't expect anything to change there until he's in the ground. Well, at least we won't have to wait too long before he's in the ground. Apparently he's pretty old too.
Ed Farmer
- We visited Marineland also and had a ton of fun petting the whales and feeding the bears but the Sky Screamer is one of the best drop rides anywhere and Dragon Mountain is incredibly smooth and fun which I didn't expect at all. We loved this park and so did our fitbits. 30k steps... holy crap, this park is huge. I rode Dragon Mountain during a family vacation before I really took an interest in coasters. Today, as a fan of Arrow loopers (sans the cookie-cutter Cork/Loopscrew models), I consider this one (and Drachen Fire for obvious reasons) among my most fortunate "credits". It would inevitably be on my bucket list, otherwise, and I'd eventually have to go far out of my way to get to it.

It's people like this who give parks like SeaWorld a bad name. Hopefully SeaWorld ends up buying this park.
PCW_Nut
I'd feel that stuff is better on a Marineland thread rather than a Wonderland one. Back to Wonderland topics, what's everyone's thoughts on Haunt this year? For an event that pulls in such a large crowd it's weird that its running only 13 nights. I'd feel next year Cedar Fair should look at extending Haunt a little earlier. It pulls in so many people that cost wise it would be totally worth it. PATTYCAKES
PCW, it doesn't matter if you make it 13 weeks. Nobody goes until the last 2 weeks. Not worth it to extend it.

CedarFair1
Update From September 12, 2015 More tree removal on/ near Skyriders plot of land, lots of trees and plants were removed in what I THINK is land prep for the que line area for the possible 2017 coaster. There were two orange flags across from Skyriders plot of land in splash works. I don't think were going to see much more land work until May 2016 when I'm sure we will see fences and signs like we did in May the season before Leviathan. I'm sorry to the other parks enthusiasts who think a coaster isn't coming in 2017 to Canada's Wonderland but there is way to much land work done in that area and it's extended outwards to cover a very large area. Another interesting yet could be nothing thing to mention is there was a tree cut down (the only tree) at the highway entrance into the park, somewhere I highly suspect a possible hotel to go. Halloween Haunt wise, the park is moving fast, I managed to get some pictures of the new haunt the pictures make it look tacky but in person it's amazing and very large and a lot of money went into it's set you can tell. tree removal, opening this area up to Skyriders plot of land soil thrown down here trees go bye bye look how open it looks now with the trees removed, cough cough que line area and new midway over there is what I suspect. entrance plaza with bridge to que line maybe for 2017? orange markers in splash works across from Skyrider Cornstalkers brand new haunt in action theater, looks amazing close up of new haunt wow okay I was wrong more then 3 trees were removed, compare to this picture so much removed from this area, comparison shots from last season to now. over view of land clearing

I mean it could have been anyone but one things for certain is this project is massive in scope now and we all know what Wonderland says about it's tree's They try very hard not to remove any, but yeah Not to jump to conclusions but I bet they are either from GCI or RMC

CedarFair1
Possible record-breaking woodie? My guess is Minebuster is a future renovation, 2017 is going to complete the trio most likely of Ziz, Behemoth and Leviathan
KPfan
I noticed a large lot cleared across the street from CW. It was visible from the lift hill on Leviathan. Is that parking overflow or other retail space?

My guess is Minebuster is a future renovation, 2017 is going to complete the trio most likely of Ziz, Behemoth and Leviathan My thoughts exactly. Remember the press release on Skyrider's removal said that a "large construction project" that would take a few years to complete would replace skyrider. My thoughts: -Skyhawk 2016 -Ziz (Not sure what coaster type, most likely wing rider/floorless) 2017 -Minebuster RMC/Reno 2018/

Virus
^^ Why would they add 2 coasters withing 1-2 years of each other? That doesn't make much sense to me...
Nickstroberg
This thread just makes me laugh. Throughout the entire 2015 season, nonstop conversation over "Ziz" (hate that name), and how its gonna be built for 2016. Then the announcement comes out, and there's no coaster, unsurprisingly. But without skipping a beat, the conversation immediately becomes "Ziz"; our 2017 coaster. Just cracks me up guys, I think there's more aimless speculation going on here for 2017, then there is about the 2016 additions, which are pretty badass BTW. I just think you guys are really setting yourself up for disappointment if the fabled 2017 coaster doesn't happen, I mean the 2015 season isn't even over yet haha

It would be aimless if the park wasnt doing land clearing and activity wasn't going on. You are right that we are kind of ignoring these new additions. Nickstroberg
Yeah aimless was the wrong word. Baseless? Idk, but where the hell did "Ziz" even come from? It's not a cool name.

There has been so much work being done around here of course there not going to hold us back another year. We are still happy about the new additions but with a park like cw and the crowds it gets, we should expect another coaster soon. CW probably has more going on at it's park than most cedar fair parks. Plus if Cedar Point gets a new coaster in 2016 then CW should definitely get a new one. Obviously you haven't been following CW. I can tell in your post ^^^^. Anyway it came from the three mythological beasts (Leviathan, Behemoth and Ziz). Since CW already has Leviathan and behemoth the next one would be ziz.
