gnewton34 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Do these trains work with "Dragon" and "Scorpion" coasters? Ummmmm...read the first post.
crazy monkey Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I went to BGE yesterday and in one of the shops, they had a model train of alpengeist on display. It said you could pre-order it from the shop. I can't wait for the release!
Jack Rimer Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 They are all plastic- like our working model trains. The inverted trains snap together, but the new floorless, dive and sit down trains screw together. These are very durable and strong.
terrancew_hod Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Those trains are really awesome! I wish I had something like that when I was a kid. Unfortunately, I'm in "space is a premium" Miami and there's no room for something like that. Bad enough I have to take my bowflex to storage to get more room! Terry
alpengeist04 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Very nice train models. I'll look for them when I go to BGE in two weeks. Who knows, maybe I'll buy one.
RRollergod Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 You never told us on the CD forums the new trains are screw together!? That itself is great news! My trains fly apart often.
CD_Staff Posted August 27, 2007 Author Posted August 27, 2007 We thought that we would keep the interest in these high as they will be coming shortly! Check out some of the upcoming statix models that will be available soon (sorry for the mark ups from our supplier!)
FeelTheFORCE Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Awesome! These look so great, great job CD staff! I can't wait to buy Griffon and Alpie to put on my desk!
Jack Rimer Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Those trains are really awesome! I wish I had something like that when I was a kid. Unfortunately, I'm in "space is a premium" Miami and there's no room for something like that. Bad enough I have to take my bowflex to storage to get more room! Terry The trains are on a base that is only 4"x11". Not too big. Get more shelves! LOL.
Jack Rimer Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Busch Gardens received their first shipment today. To order one call Arnie at 757-253-3451. If there is no answer, leave a message and he will get back to you. Eventually, they will have them to purchase online.
CD_Staff Posted September 6, 2007 Author Posted September 6, 2007 Here are some final pics of the product right before we shipped to Busch. Enjoy!
yankees15 Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 ^Man those this seriously look amazing! There is just so much detail. When you make those Talon ones I might be buying one.
FeelTheFORCE Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Any idea when they plan to put them online for purchase? I can't wait to buy these!
TheRapidsNerd Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 I used to be into model trains and knew people who would've loved these for their layouts. Alpengheist is going on my desk at work asap! Looking forward to whatever you guys decide to make! These models rock!!
GuruGuys Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Griffon Does it run faster/slower/same across the scorpion strack as the stock trains? -GG P.S. Who owns the Mariner Blue 90-93 Miata? It looks just like mine! Great car.
Jack Rimer Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 It runs a little better than the Scorpion in a straight line, but I have not tested it through tight twists. I would imagine the Scorpion is better through the twisties. The train I had will do 40 on the "drop test"(un-lubed). The best I get from a Scorpion is 35. They are very close, however.
thecoasterkid Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 These are amazing! I'm totally going to buy one of each and put them proudly on display in my room! I don't have enough space in my house currently for the full CD set, but I will definitely stock up on every one of these Statix models as they come out! I would really love to see some of those wooden models too if you ever get enough interest from consumers/parks to build those! Best of luck to you guys!
bgwfreak Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Those are freakin' amazing looking! Can you build one of Top Gun at my home park? j/k Hope these do well for you guys.
TheRapidsNerd Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Just read the rest of this thread and saw the B:TR trains! That was on my "Boy I hope they make this" wish list. Holy nergasm Batman! Ahem (regaining some semblance of adult composure)... If these sell well...IF? WHEN these sell well, are there any plans for other park ride models like rapids boats, flat rides, kiddie coasters, etc...? Also, are the CD coasters and trains around the same size as HO gauge model trains? They'd look great in a layout if so!
Jack Rimer Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 They are O gauge. We will see about other rides. We have discussed doing wooden coaster and Intamin trains next if these do well.
lil jimmy norton Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 These replicas really look amazing. Those are some souvenirs that I wouldn't mind spending some dough on.
PURE Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I think its already been asked but I read through the thread and haven't seen it asked recently. Will these trains be available online for $20? If they already are I didn't see a link on Coaster Dynamix, and if they're going to be any idea when? Those inverted trains are sweet.
IceDragon Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Probably a little late in saying this, but... Maybe you could leave some of the trains white so people can make their own designs? Kinda like Warhammer or any other game like that, but with coasters? Also, wil they be selling in England? (Please do ) They look amazing! Will definitely try to get my hands on one
