  1. No it went all the way down to the ground. The only thing it hit was the ground or whatever small cushioning there is at loading level. It didn't look or sound like there was much cushioning though. I did see the car through the trees afterwards and I couldn't see any major visible damage though.
  2. I actually saw Mach Tower crash last week. I'm assuming this is what caused the problem. It had been testing fine pretty much all day. They were dropping it from random heights on the tower. I decided to take a break in the beer garden to watch it test when the incident occurred. Everything was working fine as the car rose to the top of the tower. However, when the car dropped, the brakes barely slowed down the car this time. Needless to say, the car hit the ground pretty forcefully. BANG! There was actually some dust particles in the air afterwards. I haven't seen it testing since that happened. The catwalk thing that lifts the car in the air stayed at the top of the tower for the next couple of hours which was abnormal because usually it came back down within about two minutes. I assume they were trying to figure out just what the heck happened to the brakes! I'm actually mad I didn't record it. It happened on May 31st around 4 p.m. I've never heard of a drop tower's brakes not working. Aren't they supposed to be foolproof earth magnets?? Needless to say, Busch has some MAJOR work to do before this tower is ready for ANYBODY to ride!
  3. I absolutely LOVE dark rides. My favorites are basically in the giants in the theme park world (Disney, Universal). Spiderman- this ride is awesome but I have a few words to say about Darkastle, its ugly twin. lol Feel free to look at my rant at: www.bgescape.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=137&st=0&p=20459entry20459 . POTC- the disneyland version is MUCH better than Florida's version but I like them both TOT- MGM's version is the best hands down Dinosaur & Indiana Jones- Belive it or not, to this day, Dinosaur scares the living shizznit out of me at when the carnotaur is around! lol There I said it! I'll ride it 50 times in a row, but I scream like a girl every time! lol I love the thrill. Spaceship Earth- I liked it MUCH better before the recent horrible "renovation" MIB- I'd take MIB over Buzz ANY day! Universe of Energy (AKA Ellen: the Ride! lol)- As crazy as it sounds this is up there in my favorites list! I guess I like the nostalgia about it since I've been riding it ever since I can remember. I also LOVE the soundtrack for the ride! The Great Movie Ride- It's too bad Disney blocked the view of the beautiful entrance to the ride with the idiotic sorcerers hat! Alien Encounter- There should be a petition to rip out Stitch: the Ride and put back in this awesome ride/show! idk if its actually a dark ride, but half of it is in the dark, so that should be dark ride-esque enough! lol Those are the ones that grab my attention at the moment. Dang, all of those are from either Disney or Universal! Man ,I feel like an add for Disney and Universal rides! lol On a side note, I have a feeling that the new anchor attraction planned for the Harry Potter expansion at Islands of Adventure is going to be one of my favorites when in debuts! I can't wait![/b]
  4. ^ Regardless of if we are "Fanboys" or not, the author's points in the article were nonsensical. If you're going to dis disney, then actually give good examples to support it!
  5. The author just betched the whole time about stupid stuff. And then conveniently left out details of any good experiences on other rides. He basically just began his trip thinking that disney sucked and tried to come up with meaningless things to support his idea. Who wouldn't like an area of a park because there weren't enough flies in it?! O and btw, there would probably be more fuss if everyone in harambe was black. That would spark some racial issues. duh!
  6. Running the TOT simulation is pretty easy once you get into a pattern. The other day I was running it at full capacity and the line never got backed up.
  7. well if it turns out anything like the one in Disneyland, then I can't wait! I wonder if Disney will go as far as including an inversion in the new version?. . .But I guess they would still want to keep the ride family friendly
  8. it looks to me as though the train will dive down the second drop and into a turn to the right, similar to Sheikra's turn after the 2nd drop, and then into the splash area which is directly under the mcbr in this case. Basically really similar to Sheikra. Then it makes a slight bunny hop a little to the left (kinda like the bunny hop after Griffon's second immelmann) and then into the final helix and brake run. Just my theory. Refer to the pix (sorry if the text is hard to read!):
  9. I'd have to say on any dive coaster, floorless, or launched coaster, FRONT FRONT FRONT!!!! Other than that, i really just enjoy front and back equally. Sometimes i'll ride in the front because im in the mood to see my doom ahead or just because im tired of riding in the back. The same goes for the back. (except the back gives you a rougher, more whip-like ride). But i try to avoid any other seat besides the very front or very back unless im short on time and have already ridden in a billion times. btw: Griffon's front row, farthest left seat owns all!!!!! it has to be my favorite seat on a coaster, especially on the drop!
  10. I went to BGE yesterday and in one of the shops, they had a model train of alpengeist on display. It said you could pre-order it from the shop. I can't wait for the release!
