Sticky Nicky Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Hopefully they paint it blue to make it feel like the ocean.
christianscoasters Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I remember when SSRBP was first announced. People were so angry that a thrilling attraction such as a euro-fighter would be "Spongebob" themed. And now look! No one can wait longer for it to open!
ETapley0687 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Have we seen a pic of the loading station yet because I don't think I've seen that yet?
kraken613 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 ^ No I dont think we have seen a clear one of it. Somebody next time you go take a picture of SB's loading station! PLEASE!
Sticky Nicky Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 We now have only have 6 days more to wait. Less than a week. Can you believe we have been hyping this since November 2006 when Spongebob was announced and now there is only 6 more days of pure torture. W-O-W.
Sticky Nicky Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Update from GaleRazerwind over at Thrill Network.
Sticky Nicky Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 No lights. Splat's lights look awesome in this photo IMO.
YoshiFan Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 In the last picture, it looks like park guests might fill their own sodas from the soda fountains. I guess that might mean free refills which is always nice to see at a park.
kiwisoup Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 In the last picture, it looks like park guests might fill their own sodas from the soda fountains. I guess that might mean free refills which is always nice to see at a park. That area had self serve refill stations before...About the only place in the mall too, but that's not new.
Sticky Nicky Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 ^No, all of the fast-food places and most of the restaurants I've been to in the mall were all Free Refills. BTW, They planted plants and stuff last night. Caught Avatar testing also.
zeke11793 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Can't wait for this to open! (Got both of 'em testing)
kraken613 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I cant wait to see what everyone thinks of SB. I hope its as good as it looks!
Sticky Nicky Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I know Looty loves it. He said it just keeps getting better each time he gets a chance to ride it.
Hand 0f Time Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 That half-pipe ride looks like a blast. I wonder what the experience is like.
Coasterlvr_nc Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Overall this park is looking pretty good. Altho IMO the 3D spongebob and patrick dont look all that great.
ScubaSteve442 Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I guess they aren't putting a top on that little building next to Splat-O-Sphere.
Rocket Rodder Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Hahaha, Rock Bottom!! I love that episode! Of the show, that is. That's the inspiration behind the coaster, it seems..
RainforestAndy Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 The SB coaster looks awesome, I hope its as good as it looks.
Sticky Nicky Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 More paint has been put on the floor near Spongebob. Splat's Que has also gotten an orange paint job.
timberskara Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 News article on the skyrocketed season pass prices, just in time for their grand opening. I think it's good the StarTrib is getting the message out there because (as far as I know up until this point) everything on the web site, on their phone recording and all over the park still advertises the old rates and doesn't even mention a price increase. I could forsee someone quickly referencing one of these places, showing up on Saturday and being really upset at the price difference.
Looty Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 The price for an annual pass is crazy! You do need to remember that the park is open 364 days a year though compared to VF which is only open 4-5 months a year (i don't think the article mentioned that). If you are planning on going 8+ times a year, then I suppose it would be a good deal. The article said that one of the reasons for the hike in annual pass prices was because of the significant cost of the whole transformation....that is true, but the bigger reason, however, is because the park doesn't make any money off of the passes. Again, the park is open 364 days a year and they would much rather take your $30 every time you come. They aren't expecting to sell many annual passes. The increase in price is more of a discouragement than an encouragement. Camp Snoopy & The Park at MOA always had coupons out there for like $5-8 off of a wristband...I'm not sure how many coupon promotions NU will have.
sfmmrules! Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 The themeing looks great. I hope Spongebobs speed won't be too slow!
