Phrases or Things that make you Cringe!

Recommended Posts

What are some of the things you hear or see that make you cringe?

It could be from a boss, co-worker, the media...

"Let's bust out some work." - classmate in college/planning school

"The Best of Hollywood Entertainment. Now Playing."

"I will never raise your taxes."

People that say "You should be a Team player" when they're actually trying to get out of working and make you do most of the work. Sorry this "team player" isn't working over the weekend while you go drinking. They had trouble when I took a day off last week; wait until this 2 week midwest trip comes...

^The entire front row in my computer class does that. It gets on my nerves. They will literally sit there and be talking then go "no way, omg....wtf" honestly just say the words if your going to say them daily, it doesn't take much longer.

What phrases make me cringe? Ok... how about when I am hanging 300ft above the ground and someone says "Ok flyers take on last look around because you are at the top... here we go in 3...2...1 flllllllyyyyyy" Total torture OMG and like when you are talking to the one that means more than anything to you and you hear this... "Fine.... Whatever..." and then they are gone. That is the worst thing ever... just thinking about it makes me cringe.

Im sure I will come up with more later

"Including, but not limited to": This phrase has some use in legal briefs and opinions, but it has no business anywhere else. By using "including" you're already implying that what follows is an incomplete list.

I also hate "listing" when the word should be "list," as in "I have a listing of six requests." A "listing" is either an item on a list or the act of making a list.

It could save your life! Tonight at 11

I have to stay up and watch the news at 11 soi can live this sux!

Some Cincinnati TV stations: "Changes are coming to a local international airport. More at 11"

(The Louisville airport? Dayton?)

Top Story "Kings Island raising ticket prices!" I kid you not.

(Yes, they're doing away with the "Pay Once Visit Twice" plan, raising the two day price to something like $60 - though they did lower the day ticket to $45.)

"De de deee!!!" and "GIT R DUN!", two crappy catchphrases from two crappy comedians who have commercials airing nonstop on Comedy Central.

I have more phrases I hate, but I'm not in the mood to post em right now.

Anyone saying the word "emo", because they are bound to be starting to say hateful things about them. I don't get what's so bad about guys in tight jeans and being pissed off at nothing.

Guys wearing tight jeans being pissed off at nothing is lame. Losing all self respect is stupid! They actually TRY to look like girls.. and wear makeup.. it really is just plain dumb. I mean, emo kids should be burned. Emo burning would be a good sport.
