coasterfreak101 Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Is that whole "Mr. Freeze has been thawed..." story legitiment (sp?)? It sounds interesting, but I still don't think the ride should be red. That is, unless they change the name (or maybe add a decent tagline?).
pvcoasterguy Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 C'mon, people... it's not that huge of a deal. In fact, it's a rather small deal. Also, we don't even know what it's going to look like in the end. So wait for some pictures, then make your judgements.
Xme3 Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 what kind of freeze is red? Maybe a different shade of blue would be nice.
adc9787 Posted December 13, 2006 Author Posted December 13, 2006 Again... I am sorry that I do not have pictures... but I can tell you that the new color scheme actually looks great. The colors really make the coaster look attracive. They just stand out because of the old light blue... but it will look amazing when done.
kennywood!007 Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Its a cherry "freeze" pop!   get it.....  come one......you  know....cherry FREEZE, aaah nevermind!
LOVE SFKK Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 I think that a red freeze would be really cool, and it would definately be a stand out color if they added it to st. louis. Imagine being launched int o a red tunnel. It would be friggin sweet! Â how does a thread get 6 pages long without some pics. Where are the fan peeps in texas.
coasterlover420 Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Mr. Freeze red? wtf? Â Whose ever idea this was should suffer for 3 days!
The Joker's Revenge Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 They painted the ride red OMG!!. Is it that big of deal???. I mean it's not like they re-installed the OTSR's.
coaster1 Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 I'll have better photos this weekend, but this was given to me today from a cell phone. well kinda ..
Satoshi Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Mr Freeze turned red?! hmm.....it's sorta good for superman themed stuff but the name of its ride looks lame! it's not freezy lol.....
alpengeist04 Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 I don't think it's a big deal, it's Six Flags after all. ...now if it was Universal or Disney that's another story.
BeemerBoy Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Wow. Seven pages about a color change? If this is all it takes for Six Flags to gain attention, then maybe they should just repaint all their old coasters. Think about how many "new credits" that would be to some of you out there. Â Â Â Scott "I love the offseason" B.
adc9787 Posted December 13, 2006 Author Posted December 13, 2006 Thanks for the picture... as i was saying... the colors do look really good on the new coaster... just weird for the name! Â ... and wow... i didn't realize that this topic had gotten so large! Â -Andrew

gisco Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Maybe we could get Rollermonkey to drive over to SFOT to take some pics. He is used to long drives to do things like this.
GAcoaster Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Has anyone thought the red might just be PRIMER for the finished color? Most metal primer is a red like that...
Homer Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 ^Or white, I remember people back in 2003 thinking Python at BGT was being repainted white because they didn't know it was the primer coat.
sfstl1971 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 SFSTL could use a paint job thats for sure, I think a retheming is in store, there as nothing Freeze about Mr. Freeze. If it would hold you long enough on the spike that would be a different story. Â Our building is in need of some attention as far as paint goes, as well as a few patches of rust on the supports and heavy areas of paint flake with rust underneath. When the S:TOP tower was palnted here in STL, the primer was a dark red almost purple. Then the blue came on, now remember was totally painted before, so it has a few layers of paint even after coming up from AW. Â This may be a primer, but who knows.
Janus Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I hope the red is just a primer (which makes sense, they won't want to go through the trouble of painting if it's just going to come right off like the blue is doing now), but as long as they get the thing up and running it doesn't matter what it looks like.
the sound Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I don't get it. Am i missing some sort of Warner Bros/Mr Freeze Joke here? Â Â What is the world coming to! No loop on SOB, now Mr Freeze is turning Red?!?!?! Â Â (Jumps out of window screaming)
coaster1 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I hope the red is just a primer (which makes sense, they won't want to go through the trouble of painting if it's just going to come right off like the blue is doing now), but as long as they get the thing up and running it doesn't matter what it looks like. Â It's BEEN running, just closed down for other reasons .. after the SFGadv part and the fix .. it's been operational, just not open to the public. Â And live with it .. Dark Red and Dark Blue .. this is NOT primer
Primogen18 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 It doesnt look horrible, but its kinda off if the theme is Freeze as countless have said already. I mean, changing colors is one thing, but this conflicts the theme completely lol, which I wouldn't really put past SF anyway... I really liked the ice-blue color far better though.
