adc9787 Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Mr. Freeze at Six Flags over Texas, after being down almost the entire summer season due to the chain wide shut down of Premier Rides... is going to re open next season... ... with RED track and dark blue supports! I'm sorry... but how can a ride with a Mr. Freeze theme be red... that makes no sense. *Sorry I have no pictures... I was at the park today but forgot a camera* -Andrew
YoshiFan Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Could they be changing it to a Superman ride?
adc9787 Posted December 10, 2006 Author Posted December 10, 2006 ^ I doubt it as Superman: Tower of Power is right down the path. The theme is probably going to stay the same. I just think it is going to be like when they painted Shockwave from blue to green... except for this will make more of an impact as it is one of the firt things you see when driving in... at least from Dallas. -Andrew
coastervekoma Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 keyword-FREEZE! Red dose not realy scream Freeze.
KBNA777 Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 This is what it is going to be. Mr. Freeze the thaw. See it has been in "cold storage" for the year, and now it is un-thawed. Side note, they need to repaint the ride here in StL
coasterguy618 Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Maybe it will have a Batman and Robin theme like Chiller?
ECZenith Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 When you say you don't have any pictures, do you mean they've already painted it red? That's kind of bizarre seeing how it looked sharp in straight blue.
adc9787 Posted December 10, 2006 Author Posted December 10, 2006 ^^ Again... i doubt a name change. Batman: The Ride ir right next to Mr. Freeze and I highly doubt a new theme due to the existing mr freeze building in whith the entire que line resides. It would be interesting to see Six Flags try to turn an abandoned Ice Cream wareehouse into... not that! ^ It is not entirely done being painted. They currently have the last half of the top hat painted and some supports in the lower area that can really only bee seen above. But again, I doubt a name change... I just hope that it all looks good in the future when it's done! Mr. Freeze.bmp New Mr. Freeze!
Real Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Well, when it does get cold out and really cold, your skin first turns red before it turns blue Plus, if you get so cold, it feels more like a burn than a freeze. Plenty of reasons red can fit.
dr.gumbo Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 I like blue and the Mr.Freeze theming personally. Even if it needs a new paint job, I'd leave it because it will look more run down (like it should)
jarmor Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 I can see it happening. The batman area in SFoG is full of colors and depends on the shade of red and blue it may work well.
CP_RULES Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 I can understand why they are re-painting it, SFStL's version is getting pretty faded, but red and blue!? I think the colors fit really well on the ride itself, but not with the name. Hopefully it will get re-themed.
XanderLee Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 It's actually Fuchsia, but I'll agree that it does look pretty Red and Blue. It still looks great though! Quite a change.
adc9787 Posted December 10, 2006 Author Posted December 10, 2006 ^ Oh... my mistake... its kind of hard to tell the exact color. I agree wiht some of the things being said. The ride really does need new paint. You can see the metal in some parts... but the colors just dont seem right, however they are a good combo of colors... just not Mr. FREEZE (cold) (blue)
FlippyTrick09 Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Why not Blue track and Red supports? That might make some sense.
thomas2 Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 It would be ridiculous to paint this thing red and still call it Mr. Freeze. So my guess it that they'll rename the ride. Anyone with me?
TheStig Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 ^No. Im not with you. They repainted a bunch of batmans and left them alone, why would this be any different? Colin C
adc9787 Posted December 10, 2006 Author Posted December 10, 2006 ^ Well... I see your point, but with Batman... the ride can be yellow, black, or even dark purple and still go well with the Batman theme. Mr. Freeze on the other hand, to many people, can only be seen as a blue or possibly even a black coaster. Red which brings a feeling of heat wont work well. -Andrew
thomas2 Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 ^Yes that's my thought exactely. They can't call a red coaster Mr. Freeze
TheStig Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 ^Why can't they? I mean it seems unlogical, but is there a law or something that says they cant? I just dont see why thats absurd that the name and themeing be kept, its not like everyone is just going to up and stop riding it. I needs a new coat of paint and its getting different colors, big deal if its red! Look a Goliath and Walibi, La Ronde, and SFOG, all of them have different colors vastly different from the others! Even Goliath at La Ronde has "superman" colors! There is nothing that says a coaster's colors have to match its theme, albeit kinda stupid, its certainly not a reason to say "oh it has to be rethemed now". Colin C
Capitalize Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Seems silly to paint it red and keep a Mr Freeze name/theme... Not that Six Flags' themes really make all that much sense anyways. I could see them renaming it, though. Red is just a bizarre color change.

Colin C But a Goliath theme can have all sorts of colours. There is no colour-scheme that let's people immediately say: "oh that ride has got to have a Goliath name." Same with Batman. There is no official Batman colour scheme. But even SF should be smart enough to change the name of a red coaster with the name Mr. Freeze.
the sound Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Wow. Six Flags is even dummer then i thought! Hey SIx Flags, do you see any Red on Mr Freeze? Apart from his eyes that are about to voip you because you so dumb you don't realise he is blue, and not red.
pvcoasterguy Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Is it possible that this is a primer coat and not the actual color?
