Canobie Fan
So like.. 5 days ago I felt the need to drive about 1000 miles round trip / 12 hours... To go ride a family coaster inside a mall in Canada... So on Friday... I did. But I didnt feel like going alone.. So I made one of my friends make the longass trek with me. Oh and Capitale Express is a bitch to get photos of.. Because it doesnt run much and its hard to get a good view of the ride.. And then add in the lowlight.... its not easy. Heres the TR - Ten Flags Over Québec!! This was like.. where we were... I think.. We were the only losers up there. Rachel sits in a seat """700""" feet over Québec. Oh and look.. Its that thing they have at Epcot.. Or something. Some fort thing that kept shooting off Cannons. So heres Québec City from the towr. It has parking meter aids And we went to this big skyscraper that had an observation deck. So with some free time.. As we had set time aside to skate.... We left Méga Parc and Galeries de la Capitale... And went downtown. So remember how I said we were going to skate on day 2... Well.. uh... The ice rink turned into a stage floor.... Airtime hill!!111!!1! I <3 you Intamin! If the one at Toverland is anything like this one.. I think I might have to try it out Coolest Intamin train ever! Capitale Express' first drop starts in 100% darkness.. Then you hit the cool light tunnel. Cool looking rockwall I didnt do. I only fell off the cable...Twice (in the same spot) Yay Rope-Walk POV!!111! HO! LeDinosaur pet shop. Rich/SFNE2005 met up with us.. Grenade and all.... Umm... Yeah..... Intamin really did make a good coaster for the space they had to use. 8 degrees celsius...yay Capitale Express' station is over the arcade. Yay... It sucks.. But its still better than most S&S towers... Pussy and Cock The cool looking slides I got denied... The carousel. 76 MILES PER HOUR! They had this sign up for the coaster come'n in 2007.. Guess I'll have to come back and get that credit Yeah.... PFK..... Oh yeah.... Galeries de la Capitale is like.. A mall. I saw this sign for the "Panada in a shoe" water ride.. But I couldnt find it in the parc. Yeah screw GeForce next summer.. This is the only Intamin I need in my life. The rides lifthill takes place in a tunnel ::O Capitale Express... Like most Intamin coaster has indeed toss'd a ride. French Build-A-Bear. Capitale Express' first drop is inside this tunnel over the food court. This is the parcs newest ride.. A 40 foot Moser Spring My friend Rachel is SOOOO happy to be here... Yay indoor wheel POV!!111!!1 Ok ok.. So Capitale Express isnt a hyper coaster... But its still the best indoor in a mall Intamin coaster ever!! Hey Funtown! Kiddie bumper cars. One of the two bumper cars in the park... Or parc. Méga Parc's Méga Rink ::O! an SDC made wheel!... Only one I have seen outside of Canobies Capitale Express hits a top speed of about 76mph after its 208 foot drop. Its odd you dont hear much about it. Move over Superman Ride Of Steel... Capitale Express is Intamins real star. double-decker carousel. Oh yeah... The reason we came.... The parks Intamin Hyper coaster! So they had this ice rink in the mall.. And we were going to do it. But it was late when we got to the mall day 1.. So we were going to do it the next day before going home.... Crazy Ropes Course thing that went around the kids park area. Christmas tree in the middle of the ice rink in the middle of the amusement park.. Thats not in the middle of the mall. Indoor minigolf inside the park area. After walking around a bit... We found the rides..Wooo French Canadian christmas stuff. Yay... We made it.... Oh and look! La Ronde might have Chick'N'Chick... But Galeries de la Capitale has "FUSEE" Our 'five star' hotel (or like.. Days Inn.. whatever) Yay! It's Galeries de la Capitale! Hump....... To get to Québec Ciity I had to drive right past Canobie

apollo210
LOL! Nice James! Another reason why I should go to Quebec! I wonder how much Ejector airtime that has! Maybe Elissa will take a trip there just for the coaster! I just read over at the RCDB that Capitale Express is not an intanim, but a MACK! Screw Intanim! SharkTums
This TR would have been so much better had the coaster been closed! Very cool though, I wish we had more malls like that in the States!
niiicolaaah
Lol... "Intamin".... When I hear "Mall in Canada" I think of a certain Schwarzkopf in Edmonton...
dandaman
OMG! Canada has Intamin goodness (or kiddy mediocrity... or a Mack impostor) in its possession! Thanks for the pics. If I take the Grade 11 French program next year, I'll be heading to Quebec City. // Ottawa in about 3 weeks. Rideau credit!
TexTitan01
Wow that looks like a very cool ride! dandaman
This TR would have been so much better had the coaster been closed! Nah. If it had been closed AND there were more brilliant haikus in the captions, then it would have been so much better.

YoshiFan
Nice photos, that mall looks so cool. The northeastern US could use a mall like that during the way too long of an offseason we have.
Carnage
When I hear "Mall in Canada" I think of a certain Schwarzkopf in Edmonton... Ahh, but this would be a mall in Quebec, Edmonton is in Canada. Couldn't help but notice like 10 Quebec flags but not a single Canada flag. larrygator
I guess a 12 hour drive for a kiddie coaster isn't such a bad idea when one is used to such a crappy home park
waterviper
So whats with Canada and their indoor mall rollercoasters anyway?? At this rate they should build an indoor coaster for those who decide to visit Antartica!

Skyscraper
Wow you made my day ! The first trip report from my city where I lived until this year ! Capitale Express was my first rollercoaster ! When It opened, I was like 6 years old and I still remember when I first entered the mall....all the rides with the lights meant paradise to me ! The roller coaster didn't have a tunnel in the first drop... the tunnel have been built in the late nineties. To me, it's still one of the best kiddie coaster.. Ok it doesn't have airtime but the coaster is quite fast and really high above the ice skating ring. I really like your trip report... did you try the bumpers cars ? Because the aldult ones are really good... not Knoebels good but still good. Did you try poutine from Chez Ashton ? It's really good ! And by the way, the slides you were denied are really painful because you get so much shocks from static electricity... I always thought the coaster looked like an Intamin Hypercoaster..too bad it's not lol !
Canobie Fan
lol I didnt ride the bumper cars.. But they looked fast and like they hit hard. As for "poutine" is that the frys+cheese+gravy in a cup? I saw it at the KFC but didnt get it.
Skyscraper
The Poutine from kentucky is not really good at all ! Yes it's friench fries + cheese + gravy... Ashton and Belle Province are the best ones... Yes, the bumpers hit really hard and are fast... I love them ! Did you like the points / cards / scanner thing they use for the rides ? I never seen this kind of system anywhere else ...
coasterfreak101
I loved Capitale Express, it was a lot of fun! Plus, it was my friends' first coaster, and she loved it! We rode on my school trip up there, it was so much fun! But I thought Capitale Express was a Mack...? I could've sworn I saw that somewhere...lol! *EDIT: PFK was nasty! It wasn't white meat chicken, it was just...ew!*
Canobie Fan
The ride system was like what Rye Playland in NY has. So I have seen it before.
