Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

P. 2038: Top Thrill 2 reopens on May 3rd!

Recommended Posts

Lots of progress today, I hope it really has a drop as seen in the drawing. Would definately be a surprise if it had a lift and a launch.

I'm thinking lift as pictured in that one mock-up, and have a launch during the station fly-through/straightaway.

And maybe some switchbacks?

You are elated, but I feel ennui because they won't just announce their friggin' coaster. A simple "Coming Next Year, ______! It does this, then that, then THAT! Then it does a couple of those and then just when you think it's over it does this! _____! Opening 2007" would suffice.

Ok, so after going to Cedar Point, and looking at the construction site (from Mean Streak, to see the whole thing), there is a lot of room, but I reallly don't think there is enough room for a launch and a lift. I predict a better version of Rita, or still maybe an Aqua Trax, which would make sense after getting rid of their Log flume (which is missed if you want to get wet, but not soaked).

Did someone just backTrax and remove a pic?

no..

there was never a pic there

you are imagining things

Uh huh. Twisty track is usually aquamatically considered inversion pieces I guess.

man whatever my eyes played tricks on me

they have a lot of track down now

Wow they really do, 2 direction changes and a whole lotta helix, I hope this doesnt just end-up being a ride that twist and turns a whole bunch.

I think, the whole idea of the ride is really going to come down to the trains used, because right now the track says it could be anything Intamin. Once trains are on site, or when they make an announcement, whichever comes first (probably the trains); then we'll probably know.

Until then, the guessing game continues

Going from number 104 into number 105 in this picture definitely could be a zero-g roll. Dont hold me to it, it could just be a quick direction change or a piece of trick track, but it sure does resemble something of an inversion. See here.

that second one looks exactly like it could be a zero g roll - the first is a direction change

Or from 104 to 105 could be a change in a turn, not an inversion. I really dont think it will be a looper, the supports are too small and too close to the ground. Ok, I know Collosus's heartlines are close to the ground but it has much bigger supports. I seriously doubt it will be a looper.
