millertpr
A coasters malt is probably the same price. Yea I sent a tweet to VF and Dave Frazier yesterday asking where it was going to go and then they broke the news.

CaptainUnknown
Now where am I supposed to get ice cream when I get off early? Esp. on hot nights. How's the ice cream in BDB?
valleyfairfanatic
^ They accept 14 for games, merch, food, and admissions. But admissions is my best bet (or so I am told.) I was thinking there was more than admissions but I wasn't sure. Remember that you can now be a rides attendant at 16! (Shameless department plug, ik) Don't forget Park Services! I've been told I'm working in PS until June but after that I'll be a Ride attendant! Super excited to work! (This will be my third season working there)

There's nothing like good ice cream tho. Especially B&Js. And if I get off after 8 then no BDB .
Mikxy
Does anyone know if I will be hired for admissions? My father thinks that since it is my first season I'll be put in park services. I am very sociable and I would love to get to talk to so many people every day, because I talk too much in school. Getting paid to do it would be great! I'd also love to make people's days great because valley fair deserves happy guests.
WolfBobs
From past experience as a hiring supervisor at a CF park (Geauga Lake so this was about 10 years ago now) you're usually hired for your first choice of department that you apply for. Based on your age of course as some departments have age requirements. If the applications still ask for you to rank your departments in order 1,2, and 3 you should be hired for your first choice if offered employment. If your first choice department decides you're not right for them but still a good candidate they will then pass your application on to choice two. Mikxy
Alright, thanks for letting me know. Also, I am applying this weekend but I turn 14 on the 19th. Will it still let me apply?

WolfBobs
Shouldn't be a problem because you'll be 14 at the time you're hired and doing the paperwork portion. By law I don't think applications can ask for age other then over 18 or under 18 due to possible age discrimination. Not even sure if they have you list your birth date. But either way, just because you're 13 now won't effect you being hired as you turn 14 before the season starts.
dippindotsguy8
They are able to hire you as long as you aren't starting until 14. Regarding the application, they will ask you to supply your age IF and only if you are under 18, because it would affect where you can be placed due to regulations. millertpr
They either put it on hold until you turn 14 or it is discarded because you are not 14. And yes, you will likely be able to pick the department of your choice (unless games possibly) if you have a strong interview and do good on your application. Anyways, when you apply there is a box that you can check that says: I will accept any position given to me. Think about this before you click. Do you want to work cashier in a hot food service stand? Do you want to clean bathrooms? If not, maybe try to find another job for 14 year old (I would suggest soccer refereeing, the pay is very high) and still come to Valleyfair. You will likely still get the job even f you don't check the box. Hope This Helps!
BuffaloWingRider
My prediction for Valleyfair in 2017 is a clone of what CW is getting this year because that will probably go well. A coaster may come in 2018 or 2019 but I don't think next year.

Depending on the size of the park. If you fill out your application properly, double check spelling, etc. (Please use correct spellings of words on applications and not internet or text shorthand, you're* for example not ur*)And do well on your phone interview (this will more then likely be how you'll be interviewed the first time) you really shouldn't have much to worry about. Not saying they hire every person they interview, but with that many positions to fill your chances of being hired are pretty high. If you do a phone interview one bit of advice is to go to a room that's nice and quiet. I was always turned off a little by people I couldn't hear or understand, you also don't want anyone coaching your answers. That was always a no for me if I heard someone in the background telling a person what to say. And don't be afraid to say it's a bad time to do a interview if it is, for example if you're out with family or at church, just ask to reschedule, you won't offend anyone by being open and honest. It is hard to say if you'll get hired for admissions, since generally that department fills up very quickly with returning employees and applying late February might be a bit late for that department. Personally, I would actually rather work in PS since you're walking around the park and always have something engaging to do. I have heard ( as a response from GM Frazier to someone who had the same inquiry) that you should not apply until you are actually 14. Best of luck to you, I've worked there for two seasons (just got hired for my third season) and started right at your same age. Just be prepared to work!!! Trust me, I'm no idiot like so many people my age. Yes, I use an iphone and other modern technologies, but I don't let them consume me. I would cringe at any application that had "ur" or "k" in it. millertpr
http://www.latimes.com/travel/themeparks/la-trb-cedar-fair-flat-rides-20160206-story.html I would read this. It has a lot of information about the overseas ride project. Personally, I see a couple of flats to Michigans Adventure -- and some sort of coaster Schwarskopf Looper or Mack Bobsled to a Valleyfair, MAdventure, Dorney Park. Thoughts? Would a Schwarksopf Looper be viewed as negative or bad or accepted? Of course, something else could show up. They didn't pick up a coaster from Europe and are now going to Japan. Mikxy
I sure wish they would send a top scan or something to WOF because that is one of the very few Cedar Fair parks I can actually visit, but if I am hired for the 2016 season I will get passes to the parks so I will be going much more. I hope they continue their search and put some good flats in at Valley Fair! They could put a nice troika or something in Wild Thing's turnaround. millertpr
I know they are looking for more, I'm just saying I hope they put some at VF. Oh I was talking to the other guy. I really think that some of these and a cheap coaster would be great-- a new coaster would be better. For me this screams Michigans Adventure, a park with virtually no thrilling flat rides and one that needs a new coaster for cheap.
