colossus Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Six flags has many gotham city themed areas in there parks. which one is your favorite and why?
LOVE SFKK Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 well i think magic mountains becasue i like how theres more than just the batman ride there like that one rotor ride
Corkscrewed Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 can't really comment since I've only been to one six flags, but I always thought SFMM's Gothan City Backlot was one of the park's highlights in terms of the amount of effort and theming put into it. Ahhh, the good ol' days back when the park still cared. It's particularly impressive when compared to their recent installations.
kingdanny Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 SFOG has the best Gotham City. It has the music, MindBender, Crime Wave, Axis Arena, the Batmobile, and Batman.
Erik Johnson Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Out of the ones that I have been to SFOG is the best and Six Flags America's is the worst. While Six Flags America's has some decent rides, Gotham looks like it was plopped down in the middle of a field with very little theming. Same with one that has "Super" in it. At least they do have a coaster with the word "Bat" in it. This is SFA. Under the Wild One is the entrance of Gotham. Batman: The Ride has a detailed queue. Yeah, the Batmobile. Yeah SFoG's Gotham is quite nice.
ECZenith Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 I thought SFMM's was nice because they actually had all their Batman rides in one area unlike a certain park close to me... I haven't been to SFOG yet but photos I've seen look pretty nice.
CP_RULES Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 While SFStL's Gotham City really only has two rides in it, (B:TR, and Joker INC.) I think it is pretty well done, especially in the B:TR queue. Im not saying its the best, but its fairly good for a park that Six Flags doesnt care about.
Darien Laker Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Oh, SFDL's Gotham City is the absolute best. All sarcasm and joking aside, I'm going to have to say SFA's by default. I've only been to three SF parks, and while SFGAm had the nicest looking "Batman Area"....it wasn't like a whole section of the park either. So SFA.
IwantRevenge Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 SFgadv's is nice, With Nitro in the backround . But yeah, but with B:TR and B&R:TC it's very nice.
gtaylor Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 I'd have to say SFOG, I was impressed with the Gotham City/creepy carnival theming. And their wave swinger(Crime Wave) looks awesome. Let's please not bring up SFA. My home park's Gotham City is pathetic in comparison to the rest.
davidmorton Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 WBMW in Madrid (that counts right, was 6flags once) - best themed B:TR and a load of other bat-stuff going on.
coasterguy618 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 SFgadv's is nice, With Nitro in the backround . But yeah, but with B:TR and B&R:TC it's very nice. You know it isnt conisdered Gotham City, right? Its Movie Town.
Golfie Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 SFGAm... of course, that's the only one I've been to. From pictures, they all look the same to me, but in the line for Batman, there's a bad ass cop car with bullet holes and it got rammed into a fire hydrant.
mike541x Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 So far I have to go with is SFA's because thats the only SF park I've been to.
jasper2 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Having only been to SFOG and not any other SF parks, it's hard for me to say but I agree they do a pretty good job at SFOG. Turning the MindBender into a riddler themed ride was a great idea, it really made it look more appealing. Batman ride has a pretty well themed queue. They also have the Crime Wave with batman villains on it(swing ride). Not to mention the Axis Arena. It's over by its self also, only one way in and one way out. And with the addition of Goliath, Deja Vu, and S-UF, the lines are almost always short early and late in the day.
weatherkid17 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Ive been to SFGAm, SFGAv, and SFOT. Out of the three, I would have to go with SFOT. They have awesome theming, especially on the lines of Mr.Freeze, and Batman. It actually looks like they spent alot of time on the scenery. I noticed nobody mentioned SFOT though.
Three Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 SFOT's is okay, but yeah. SFOG's is awesome. Except for that whole downhill/uphill walk into the damn area. My poor Floridian-tuned legs cannot handle such elevation change. It was a cool area, but the walk kept me from returning once leaving
dwerling Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Out of the parks i've visited i would have to go with SFGam
Homer Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 SFOG is the best Gotham, well shaded and landscaped as well as themed. Then I think SFEG has the "worst attempted" Gotham look... Settle 'round folks, its time for another SF story... Back in 1998-ish or so, Premier was becoming SF, and Premier wanted to retheme ALL of their SLC coasters (Mind Erasers/T2/Serial Thriller) to Batman:TR's. With that in mind, until some point in time, SF stopped retheming. T2 at SFKK got painted black and that is as far as it went. Mind Eraser at SFDL/SFNE didn't get rethemed. Mind Eraser at SFEG got some brick buildings and a Gotham-ish looking sign. Serial Thriller at Geauga Lake got nothing, same with SFAW. Then, onto SFEG's "Gotham" city. I would say the only thing closest to a Gotham City is both the Batman Arena and the Mind Eraser area. Theres a Batman themed Chance Aviator called "Batwing". Mind Eraser has the brick buildings and gotham-ish sign. Batwing has NO batman theming except for the Batman logo on top. The signs in the queue use the Chance Aviator how-to's for how to control your pod. The Batman Arena looked like a generic arena, also, the generic Batmobile is parked nearby. Oh well, I guess SFEG's "Gotham" is as comparable to SFA and SFDL's.
