ebl
^ I still think SFMM ought to do what Universal does and let people have a locker for free for, say, 90 minutes. That won't make them any money, but such a convenience would be a hit with guests. About putting in the same rides, keep in mind that Six Flags parks tend to reach out to the local market. There is nothing like Tony Hawk's Big Spin anywhere in Southern California, unless you count Sierra Sidewinder at Knott's. This is why I get frustrated about the whole "clone" thing. So a park hundreds---or thousands---of miles away from another park puts in the same kind of ride? Your average park guest knows nothing about it. Or, if it's a popular ride (like, say, Batman--The Ride), a guest visiting a different park will be pleased that such a good ride is in that park, too---and will ride it anyway. Anyway, I look forward to SFMM's future, whatever they add. Eric
superdad1029
I agree I was just saying my personal feelings. The reason why we drive five hours each way is because magic mountain's rides are on a complete different level than anything up here. From a business stand point it only makes sense to have clones. They can buy 5 Tony Hawk Rides cheaper than Buying just 1 different ride for each park. Besides the number of people that are crazy like my family to make 6 trips a year just to go to a theme park are not very many. Have a great day. PURE
On Viper someone stuck their gum on the floor while in the train and the main op made them pick it up and throw it in the trash. This is awesome. Whenever I see some sh*t kid doing crap like that I always hope a ride op sees them and makes them responsible for their actions. I remember back in the late 90's, (when the park was running itself into the ground) I saw some kids tagging on a Ninja train (the plastic scratches very easily) and told a ride op when I got off, and the ops didn't do anything, because they didn't even care. Superman doesn't run both sides because its not necessary. Maybe this summer because both are operational if lines get over an hour we might see it happen. They've had that "yearly rehab" sign for a decade now. Don't know why Sky Tower is closed due to weather all the time, sounds like a BS excuse to me. I've gone up there when the winds blowing and its raining, it's not like the thing is going to bend in half...
upfrontjwash
Why they just don't rehad bothsides at once. That way they can run them at the same time. Its just kind of weird to switch off like that.
SharkTums
^Why rehab them both at the same time and have to have a closed ride?! Like everyone has said, the lines aren't so bad for it right now that it justifies having both sides open. Also, it's not under a rehab. Like PURE wrote, they've used that sign for about 10 years now! Tim told us at WCB that both sides are up and running, and in fact I've seen both sides running at alternate times the past few weeks. nagro5
They've had that "yearly rehab" sign for a decade now. Yeah, when I saw the sign I didn't think that that was the real reason why they had the other side shut down. You're probley right, it isn't necessary to have both sides running if you don't need them. They probley just needed some way to block the queue. upfrontjwash
Yeah I just saw his post, I was posting at the same time so I didn't see it. That sounds like a good reason to not have both sides open. No offense or anything, but I've noticed a lot of your questions that have been touched upon long ago and your statements are usually agreeing with others, often not giving much input or don't don't contribute much. Often, certain questions can be answered by looking back at other topics or post earlier in a thread. If you notice, this thread is huge and has been going on for years. I'm not trying to be mean, just trying to improve your posts. For example, an example of one of your good posts is giving positive or negative feedback from your visit at a park. That gets other engaged in what you have to say as well.

Maybe this summer because both are operational if lines get over an hour we might see it happen. They've had that "yearly rehab" sign for a decade now. Yeah, but it wasn't that it had only one side open; it was running much more slowly than it was earlier in the day. Maybe it was because there was a lot more freaked out people and people who had stuff to leave on the platform. One of the ops came out a couple times to tell people not to touch the doors because apparently it was shutting the ride down. Also a lot of people assumed there were 4 seats in the front so that caused some confusion (the signs on the doors are practically impossible to see when the queue is full). I think a sign where the queue splits saying which side goes to which two rows and how many seats are in each row would be very helpful. There was a large group of kids who decided that they wanted row 3 instead of 2 so they just ducked under the bar. I know these are kind of nitpicky things, and they didn't bother me that much.. but as long as someone is reading this, might as well mention it. I didn't get the name of the op on Viper, she seemed a little older than the rest of them though and she kept saying "Viperrrrr.... bwa ha ha ha". It was about 5 pm when I was there. If I wasn't so tired/lazy I would have gone to guest relations and left a (positive) comment about it (the gum thing). Also near closing I was walking around in the Looney Tunes store and when I left the lady at the register said "Thank you." (I didn't buy anything) It's a minor thing but a lot of those make a difference.

I DON'T THINK HE OR ANYBODY ELSE ON THIS SITE NEEDS YOUR HELP "TO IMPROVE THEIR POST". Bucket
WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING!? But I agree with you. It's so much easier to just ask than to waste time by going through page after page of discussion! Not everyone is as well informed about coasters or theme parks as some members (including myself). The purpose of forums is to exchange, discuss ideas anyways!

Blnkgttrst
I have a question that i wanted to ask for awhile now. What happens when a ride goes through its rehab? I'm not entirely positive but I always assumed they just checked/replaced all sensors and other electronic components, make sure they're doing there jobs. Work on the trains (clean change wheels, probably oil check/rebuild restraint systems. Check/change brakes I don't know what else they would have to do

nagro5
Day 2: Okay It's late, and I don't feel like writing, so I'll let the pictures speak for themselfs. We rode back to our car on the trolly. It's nice that they have a speaker on them. PEACE OUT! I bought my shirt, and my dad bought a shirt and some sunglasses. I didn't know that they gave you a free thing of lip balm if you bought a pair of sunglasses. They still need to change these also. Ninja: 122 ft. tall. I think not. This was in another window. Notice that it says "Opening SUMMER 2008" This was in one of their windows. It was really cool to see the K'nex run. I wanted to get a shirt, so we went into Flags. They still need to change these signs. X2 is going to be great! Whoever said it was run down, here's proof that it's not. Grand Carousel This is what it looks like over there. You can walk over this bridge or go through the cafe to get to the other side. The Cyber Cafe is really neat. It's cool how you can check your e-mail, log on to TPR, ect. The kids go crazy over these things. You're doing it wrong! You throw pennies in there not credit cards! I wonder how much money they make by the end of the year from this fountain. This fountain is really beautyfull. This used to be the Justice League Feast but they changed it to Johnny Rockets. I've seen this somewhere before. And if you look to you right you can see the spot where I puked my guts up last time I came. There's not Dorito Syndrome here. The queue lines need some cleaning up. Hey, you can't fool me! It's a speaker. I was bored in line, and I noticed that they still have the test colors for the lolipop sign on Superman. After the show, we got in line for Goliath. The line was a lot longer than yesterday. Only Six Flags! I made a new friend! After they were all done dancing they lined up for some photo ops. Everybody that was watching it had a great time. We were sitting down taking a rest when this came out. It wasn't as good of a ride as yesterday, but it was still fun. It's time to ride! Oh, well ummmm..... THAT'S DISCUSTING! Whoever put gum on the camera must have been really immature. I hope these misters come on when it gets hot. Because at SFStL I almost had a heat stroke in the tunnels for Batman. Oh, so that's why! There is another cop car. But wait, it's not is Gotham City. "Don't be around when the fuzz shows up!" What have they done? Oh wait it's the theming. Well that just screwed it up! Ahhhhhhhhh, how peacefull. We've made it! It was a long walk, but totally worth it. This part of Gotham City looks spiffy. They did a good job of making it look bad, if that makes sense. This is one of the Metro's stations (and another random sleeping guy). On the way to Batman I passed by the former spot of Spin Out. As you can see, it's completly gone now. We got in line for Tatsu at just the right time. It broke down the train after us. Hello Six Flags! I've missed you.
ghost007jas
Great trip report! GuruGuys
I am planning a short barely two day trip to SFMM in the late April or early June. To get the good airfare rates I have to travel on Tuesday and Wedensday. The available flights arrive at Burbank at 10am Tuesday and leave at 6pm on Wednesday. Here are the questions I have: If I can spend 5 hours in the park on Tuesday and about 4-5 hours in the park on Wednesday, will I have enough time to ride everything more than once (what are the crowds like). When does school end (I'm assuming it will be much more crowded then?) Thanks for the help. -GG P.S. If this belongs in a trip planning thread feel free to move it there instead.
