  1. I'm going to take a random shot in the dark here and go with New Jersey. MOD EDIT - ADDRESS DELETED But this is really a drastic attempt at a guess due to a total lack of where you are headed.
  2. Ghostrider was what got me into coasters. I went to Knotts with my middle school and the park was empty so my friend and I rode Ghostrider 34 times that day. That ride was what made me realize how fun rides could be. After my next two trips to Knotts my GR count was to 113. Two summers ago I went back out there went on Ghostrider ONCE. That thing used to be a marvel. Now it's a death trap. Feels worse than Psyclone or the Georgia Cyclone. (I won't even ride the georgia cyclone anymore)
  3. Ah, but it could be for some sort of new adult entertainment park we are unaware of... maybe a new hotel in Vegas?
  4. I did notice that but didn't think about it being a hoax, because I didn't see the reason for trickery. I figured maybe they just have a weird way of numbering their jobs. However now that you as well point this out... I do find it funny.
  5. To clear things up a little I was at the park today, (ride closed all day ), but as we were leaving we drove back to batman to see if we could see anything, and at certain parts you would only have to jump the perimiter fence, now... I'm not saying six flags is at fault because they aren't. I just think it's odd that everyone is saying TWO fences when it could have very easily just been that one fence he hopped. Now there is a sign RIGHT there by the helix saying NO ADMITTANCE. This kid had a death wish.
  6. Joey's is funny because it's what Six flags had announced to be part of the effects. Tunnels just like that one.
  7. In regards to the skytower... You wouldnt have to use gas you could use electricity. But the bathroom thing would be challenging but possible. Overall a project like that would be very expensive but you have to admit it would be an amazing thing.
  8. Thats kind of what i'm picturing. At least exclusive to season pass holders most likely with reservation.
  9. I've been to magic mountain many times but i've never been up the sky tower. So i've never seen the lower level. What kind of shape is it in? Would it be plausible or even possible to fix it up to the point where either it could be made useable as a dining area or kitchen area? If that was at all possible I would seriously consider doing that and moving the museum to some unused building. Down in Psyclone bay I always thought it looked like there was a ton to do but really everytime i walk from deja to gotham its with one thing in mind going from one to the other if there was a museum in the middle it would provide a nice landmark to stop and see. (keep in mind i'm not expecting any of this to actually happen)
  10. I think it would be a good idea to put a sit down real restaurant in the park. Even better put it somewhere in the middle with a nice view. If it wasn't so unfeasible could you imagine putting it on top of the skytower... (the museum is an awesome idea and I know this will never happen but how awesome would that be if there was a very nice restaurant at the top of skytower, with good food and beautiful views. I could see there being issues with having a kitchen that high off the ground for fire issues and what not but ... ya) Anyway maybe even take a page from disney and make a restaurant or a section of a restaurant specific to season pass holders. Make the food affordable priced like a real restaurant with food and service comparable. If the food was good enough and unique enough and the view and atmosphere was right I could see it significantly increasing season ticket sales. There are a lot of good food options around six flags but I think if you had a restaurant with every seat having a good view and maybe even direct access from outside the park ... I could see it being a very cool thing.
  11. I know it's very unlikely but I would be so happy if it ended up going to Magic Mountain or SFOG. I really think it has the potential to be a very fun well themed ride.
  12. APRIL 03 UPDATE- nothing big but ...it's something http://rcdb.com/document289.htm
  13. I'm just gonna go ahead and assume that Sweep was supposed to be another word
  14. This is terrible but, you have to laugh. Ride collapses and no one bats an eye. They just calmly go to try and release them.
  15. I'm not entirely positive but I always assumed they just checked/replaced all sensors and other electronic components, make sure they're doing there jobs. Work on the trains (clean change wheels, probably oil check/rebuild restraint systems. Check/change brakes I don't know what else they would have to do
  16. I just clicked on the whats new link and i've decided even though I will still rarely use it it must stay!!! Simply because it led me to see Robb in his Patch Jacket!!!
  17. 1. What do you find most useful about the front page? The recent update section on the right hand side. 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? I only use it to see the most recently updated thread. 3. Is anything on the front page confusing? No 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? I don't scroll down at all 5. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? Didn't know there was one 6. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better? Girls??? ... Food??? ... Girls with food on rollercoasters!!! 7. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/etc? I like the site the way it is, can't think of anything else.
  18. Can you say INTAMIN DROP TOWER!!! However... all this talk about S&S I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't intamin
  19. If you don't like boring dribble and ranting don't bother reading Got to the park around... 10:30- 11:00 NO LINES whatsoever headed straight to the gate (thank you reactivated season passes ). I understand the park wants to make money off pictures but having 20 photographers EACH asking if you want a picture right after they saw you turn one down... that may not be the best way of doing business. I felt like Six Flags turned into a used car dealership. First up Goliath. A DOLLAR MANDATORY ride lockers are you KIDDING ME. That had so many people pissed off i'm not even kidding. The bonus no one wanted to ride it it seamed so lines were very very short. Get in line for the last row... restraints issues judging by what the mechanics and shift leads were looking at under the trains I can only assume the sensors weren't lining up but I may be wrong. This is where I saw Coreyml just didn't realize it was him until I read his TR. Waited a good thirty minutes and gave up. Went to Batman. Would have gotten in line for the last row or even the second too last row but nooooo Mr. human segregation himself flashpass had those two lines blocked off. One train operations just like everything else in the park except for Goliath. Got on the ride and honestly had one of the best Batman runs i've ever been on get back into the station and the restraints wouldn't unlock. Lets review... Goliath broken down. Batman- Stuck in the station for a good 20 minutes. Mechanics showed up and realized.. hmm OH! The train wasn't all the way in the station . Next up I headed to Mindbender. First thing I noticed aside from the very nice brand new paint job, was that they had decided to leave the ponds and fountains empty due to the drought. Had a three train wait on that and once again had one of my best rides. While in line I noticed 4 TPRers filming and taking pictures, but I didn't bother to introduce myself. Next up SUPERMAN THAT HO! (this is what I got to here in the ride station thanks to the awesome wannabe gang members riding). Shortest line i've ever seen for superman once again they had lockers but they were letting people put stuff in the station. Rode in the last row, they had 5-6 issues with ankle restraints while I was there. NINJA! I for somereason LOVE this ride... god knows why. Those restraints are so short it absolutely KILLS my collarbone everytime but I still ride. No surprise that the only other row occupied than mine (second to last) was the front. The Great American Scream Machine- What to say about GASM... Rode with my father lol he rode with the impression that sense it was older it wouldn't hurt, I cautioned otherwise but... We get half way down the first drop and he turns to me and goes "i just threw my back out" to which I replied well you better hold the hell on because it's about to get FAR worse. I was unfortunately right. That ride sent me flying around our car harder than a cheap hooker. I could see this ride being amazing decades ago, but why people still swear by it today I just don't understand. Up next one of my personal favorite rides of any park ever. ACROPHOBIA! No line... (I guess people don't like the thought of getting their legs cut off... although i've never seen Acrophobia I choose to believe that incident has made things worse). AMAZING as always. Painful as always. Worth it as always. Georgia Scorcher, I love that ride. Waited three trains for the front row. What I couldn't help to notice was how DUMB people are. "Restraints now locked" right after this I clearly see this man get in the train and before situating himself around the "seat" he pulls down on the OTSR all the way and pins himself... It looked so ridiculous it took everything I had to not laugh. It was running great. It was at this ride I noticed a few "VIP" purchasers. While I could almost see spending 250 dollars a ticket for this during the summer months... never would I do it on opening day. But hey... it's their money... Georgia Cyclone... I knew I should just stay away but I couldn't. Back row.. one train wait. Sore throat and possibly extremely bruised thigh (haven't looked yet). Monster Plantation cracks me up as always. No one else was in line. Right in the boat we went. I've always thought it was the worst ride ever. However ... I love it. I appreciate the fact that it was build by hand and I mean when you think about it in terms of context it really is a great way to avoid the heat and just take a breather. Last ride of the day Goliath second to last row. No line at all (get rid of the expensive lockers! hint! hint!) Goliath is quite arguably the greatest air time machine of all time!!! Awesome way to end the day. As we headed out of the park I got my self a fresh from the fryer Funnel Cake They loaded on the powdered sugar. As long as it tastes that good I do no mind the six dollar fee! Few positive things I noticed throughout the day. Employees were overall amazing for mostly being new. When in line for broken down goliath the attendant carried on conversations with the guests. Telling me about how she got to ride it a ton last night to which I replied "ya... I haven't gotten to ride it yet this year...". The acrophobia ride ops always great with their little antics. Superman crew aside from the seat issues they were moving very quickly with one train operations. GASM crew... there must have been 5 people on the platform two of which actually were doing things. Mindbender. Two attendants. The ride op was running back and forth from checking restraints to dispatching the ride. Loved the hustle. Cyclone ride operator was by far the friendliest employee I came across all day. Enjoying his job and having a good time with the guests. My quote of the day. "now before we board look at the row in front of you... Sit one row back from that! Lets take a minute to let this sink in... ... ..." *gates open* People in front of me COMPLETELY confused as to which row they were supposed to go in. The ride ops face was PRICELESS. I was entertained. It seamed as if though the Three Point Challenge is going to be a very big hit. All day I saw a small crowd around it. My dad found it entertaining. Only suggestions are ... there seemed to be a lot of maintenance issues which is too be expected but still maybe a little more testing. Also at least 6 times during the day I was asked by a ride op for the time. Maybe put clocks in the ride stations so that the ride ops can do their paperwork. BRING BACK DEJA VU. I saw thomas town construction and almost cried. It looks like such a pathetic waste of land where such an awesome (money guzzling) ride could be sitting All in all a very good day at SFOG.
  20. Some lady fell out and died a few years back and after that they installed the OTSR's Click Me
  21. A few of the segments would start freezing and it would play through distorting the sound and you couldn't make out any video and in certain parts it would go back to perfect then back into the distortion. It only happened on like ... 5 segments total i'd say but they did have the older labels. I was kinda disappointed because one of the segments that got screwed up was Farup Sommerland (spelling) where joey can't do the monkey bars (LMAO) that park rocked and from seeing the clips online there were some very good looking girls on that segment lol. So i'm a little disappointed with that.
  22. I just bought volume 1,3,6,8, and 9. I'm currently finishing my viewing of 9. Rather than review a bunch of little things i'm just going to say my money was well spent. All the dvds are great 1,3, and 6 have a few technical issues, luckily they were on segments that had been posted on the website and that I already have downloaded. Robb- It is clear you are getting very very good at filming and editing. You can tell how volume 1 was kinda ... typical lol but number nine i'm not even done watching it and it's top notch. More mix of randomness which I like everything is much crisper and it's extremely good quality. I would recommend purchasing anyone of these dvd's if you have not already done so. Also Robb, thanks for the mints lol.
  23. Superman: Ultimate Flight SFOG First coaster to feature a Pretzel Loop ...first flying coaster in the U.S. ??? And i'm sure i'm wrong about this but First double station?
