P. 2239: Superman: Escape from Krypton permanently closed

Maybe all the people in SoCal are conplaining about the drop on this ride because they have never experienced for themselves what a good drop actually is.

I did a presentation in class where I used RMC as 1 topic & everyone was nothing but excited & shock when I showed them TC. It's funny seeing everyone's face when I show them what's coming to Cali as Medusa is our mega coaster growing up (pretty much still is) in NorCal. To go down that thing twice is going to be crazy, I'm not sure what new tingly feelings I'll feel throughout the ride I'm beyond excited.

When I was at that new walmart, i done did saw that on the news that a lady flew off that big wooden coaster in texas. They saids that was riding so fast the wheels shimmed and hit the bolts that hold the coaster is so unsafe

Only in the SFMM thread could you find complaining about a Rocky Mountain coaster...

and finally after being a guest on this site for many years and mostly laughing my ass off on so many posts its time to join in. I just hope I don't get kicked out. I am counting the days that Twisted Colossus makes its' debut. My name says it all...I am a long time fan of MM and was their on Opening Day. Anyways cannot wait to add my two sense in to the forum.

i just like bigger first drops, like the top 5 steel coasters. lol but i'll take dual 100 ft 80 degree-ers any day!

This. It's just a preference, guys. Chill. I know I'll love TC and I think everyone else will too. On my end, I'm gonna let the matter DROP. hahahhahaha!

I saw some pictures today of the completed drop (not sure if it's a "TPR-approved" site so I'm not posting them) and it does look great. Seems like they've made a lot of progress!

Are the rains bad in Valencia again? I wonder if this will effect any rides and Christmas decorations at the Mountain? I'm guessing it will slow down construction on TC a little.

In just about any other place in the country, people would barely notice even this sort of rain. They would take it in stride, not drive like total morons, and basically go about their business same as any other day. But since it's here, we get STORM WATCH 2014! LIVE TEAM COVERAGE OF HEAVY DRIZZLE AND SOME WATER THAT HASN'T MADE IT INTO A DRAIN YET!

RMC will lose maybe a day from this. They should be proactive in scheduling construction around Valencia's normal "rainy season" in Jan-March but we'll see.

The blue drop has been completed I'm not even sure of the green has been topped off.
I don't think that green track has been shipped to the park yet. From what I've read about the construction process that will probably be the last track installed. That blue track at the top of the lift was originally scheduled to be some of the last track installed but the park or the RMC workers on site (I forget which) requested that they change things up and the blue lift track be sent ASAP and now it's there.

I saw that at the beginning of HIP the park used a really realistic looking fake snow all over the place but the rain has washed it away and now they're using a more resilient but less realistic cottony fake snow. I doubt that anything short of flooding would damage any rides or lights.

are you talking about the top of the green lift hill? what i've read from the reports from the construction tour is they follow the path of the ride, together. just like they are doing on wicked cyclone.

i did read that that they will finish off the bottom of the green lift hill because they need it out of the way for the end of the ride or something. so that was a switch in schedule.

Quote a bit of new information in this video. Particularly of note they say the two chain lifts will be individually controlled and variable on the fly, so that the speeds can be adjusted as the trains go up the lift to make sure they race.
