  1. It's about 150 miles east of San Juan P.R, if I remember right. About midway through the chain of Caribbean islands. Is that where you're going in October....otherwise known as "hurricane season?"
  2. Guilty as charged.
  3. ^ Oh, it's on like Donkey Kong now. USC's certainly had more success than the U in the last century, but as far as the time span that you've been on the earth Joey, you'd have to bow down to us. Reggie, Matt and company have owned the last few years, but that's only because all the Canes were busy being drafted to the NFL Fantasy ranks. I could list the Canes that have been impact players in the NFL (well, after jail time, of course lol), but I'd be here awhile, and I really need to get to work. I'll leave you with my all-time favorite Cane, and I will say this....Besides playing in a weak conference, I actually don't mind USC as long as they do there job and take out ND. 4. ^^If I remember right, for our trial, both sides had already narrowed down a big list of candidates to interview for final selection. The day jury selection began, there was a group of about 50 potential jurors that had been chosen based on an interview form which was mailed to them in advance. Because the cities in the region were so small, and our story had been heard across the country by that point, the attorneys on both sides took special care in selecting the jury. I'm not sure if this would've been done the same way in Canada, but I'm thankful it was. There were actually a bunch of potential jurors who avoided it by citing religious values. Many didn't want to decide life or death, so they were immediately thrown out. If I remember right, one person actually claimed that he simply didn't like either cops or lawyers....I can't remember. That made it pretty easy to throw him out. So if you really wanted to avoid jury duty on a much smaller scale case, I'd go with that one. Just admit you don't like lawyers very much. If there's any kind of bias, then I couldn't see them keeping you around.
  5. Well, that pretty much seals the deal for me then. I think I'll be passing on PAX. There's still plenty of "wild" beemers out there. And they won't leave me with giant bruises.
  6. ^^ Cool. Thanks for the explanation. That does explain a little more about these things now. I'm not sure the Balder fans in here will be quick to agree with you, but I'm definitely intrigued by PAX now.
  7. I'm not saying you're wrong, or trying to discredit your opinion, but maybe you should give us a few examples of B&Ms and Intamins you've ridden to support your claims. I've been curious about your signature for a while now, so I'm wondering what makes PAX kiddie coasters so desirable?
  8. mmmm, PopTarts.
  9. Yes. Do you like lobster?
  10. ^ Funny, I was thinking it probably belongs next to a certain anatomically correct statue in New Jersey.
  11. I took a quick look at the title of the thread and thought you were having a Nam flashback or something, Kumba9. Seriously though, this sounds kinda interesting, I guess. I wonder if we'll see more movie/book-inspired parks in the future if this succeeds? Scott "wouldn't be caught dead at the comic show, but not afraid to admit that a Star Wars theme park would be sweet" B.
  12. ^ NEWS FLASH: I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT WHAT THEY THINK. I move to spanish speaking country....I learn spanish. You move to The United States of America..... you learn ENGLISH. Anything less IS disrepectful. IMHO, naturally. By the way, chief....I have studied Spanish. And yes, I have attempted to learn the language. So before you assume that I haven't, you should probably ask. And furthermore, I have the utmost respect for anyone who learns english as a second language. It is possibly the most difficult to learn, considering the amount of slang used in daily conversation. With that said, I also have ZERO respect for any immigrant who feels it is owed to them that The United States of America should become a bilingual nation. If you don't like a country for what it is before you choose to live in it, then you should reconsider where you choose to live. If I decide to move to Italy, I'm not gonna start a revolution to have the Italian government start speaking English because I wanna feel more "at home." That's not how it works. Once again, yes we are free here. Yes, you're free to speak your native language. It's simply disrespectful to believe your new country of residence should cater to your way of life outside of the home you live in. Speak in your native tounge as much as you want while at home with family and friends, but don't go around expecting to see every written word (billboards, menus, traffic signs, etc.) in your native language. That was my point. I am now through with this thread for discussing this topic. If you feel the need to continue, please start a new thread about it. End Rant. Scott "I know I'm not alone on this one" B.
  13. I've driven by this place more times than I can even remember, yet I've always resisted stopping long enough to take that many pics. Someone mentioned earlier about this place in the early 90's and how it wasn't "too bad." I can remember that also. The indoor pool and mini golf actually weren't all that bad....at a certain point in time, of course. Those days have passed us by, though. The place still has that weird sort of "Americana road trip/ strange side of the road point of interest" feel to it, which is sort of cool and funny at the same time. Much like the world's largest ball of string, or the Cadillac Ranch in Texas. You can't help but wanna stop and laugh at the place. And by the way, am I the only one in here who actually has that Pedro's Wild Mouse credit?
  14. Theme Parks, Roller Coasters & Platinum TurtleCampers......please Robb, please? It's really been awhile since I've laughed this hard at four random pics! Excellent work.
  15. Yes. Do you mind if we dance with your dates?
  16. another thing i hate is when people get mad because your speaking another language. You're right, it IS america and we're free to speak in whatever language we like. Si yo quiero hablar en espanol, then I will! So America should bend to fit your language then? Every business in this great country should spend whatever it takes to have every piece of literature reprinted in spanish to satisfy you. They should also screw over worthy English speaking job applicants to find a bilingual one? Should I go on? Bottom Line: Yes, it is America, and yes you are free.....so respect it by speaking the national language. It's the least you can do after overpopulating the place (oh gosh, did I say that? Wait, yeah I did). That's my rant for the day. Scott "nothing personal, I think " B.
  17. Happy Birthday Lou!! Enjoy it.
  18. C'mon Joe, it's ok to just say he juiced. You may have a valid point about the non-punishment due to lack of a policy against it (even though I could care less if there was or wasn't), but seriously, there's no reason to beat around the bush. Humans simply don't develop like that without "supplements."
  19. Well since Dalton, Georgia has no skyline, I'll throw up a pic of my hometown instead.....Fort Lauderdale, FL.
  20. ^ No, I got what you were saying regarding newer and more undetectable drugs being developed. It was the "aw shucks" tone implied that I was trying to point out was the unfortunate approach that too many people take towards the issue. That's why I'd like to see everyone go down alongside Bonds to make a point to future generations. I could care less who is guilty. But if there are, then erase them completely out of the record books.....like they never even stepped foot on the diamond. If the public continues to just shrug their shoulders at cheating, then that's why I said just do away with the rule book altogether, and just encourage an "anything goes" policy.
  21. Ditto. Well, as far as rides are concerned. SFNE would still be my favorite looking SF park though.
  22. 1. CoasterFanatic - GTA 2. Wes - Duck Hunt 3. Homer - Foghorn Fighter
  23. I'm not sure there's ever been anything good come from France. Anyway, kudos to Busch once again for thinking outside the box. Kumba, Sheikra, Montu, Griffon, etc. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The world can only take so many generic cloned names *cough* Goliath *cough*.
  24. ^Yeah, it remains tough to this day. In fact, tomorrow will be 4 years to the day that the murders took place, and it still feels as though we were sitting in court yesterday. It really is amazing to see all that goes on during a trial of this magnitude. I gained tremendous respect for the prosecuters, and left with absolutely zero respect for the defense. Although we knew the evidence lead to nothing but an open and shut case, the attorneys find the strangest ways to put doubt into jurors minds. I can't tell you how many times my stomach turned listening to these trash bags try to defend that loser. And as far as the jurors go, I mean, there's no way any of them left that case without their lives changed in some way. They gave us the verdict we were praying for, but not after the most tension-filled 24 hour deliberation you could imagine. We literally sat there shaking our heads wondering what was taking so long. And that's why being on the jury is not an enviable position. Luckily, like you said, your case can be a little more easily forgotten in the mind of a juror, but if you get stuck deciding someone's life, that's a whole other story.
  25. ^ That's what we're not looking forward to....years and years of appeals.
