I'd just like to say that we have a lot of sports fans around here, and it would be very silly to see an american flag displayed "at least as prominently" as the ohio state flag in front of my neighbors house. Also, displaying the flag IS a right protected under freedom of expression. That's like saying you HAVE to paint your house red white and blue, or you HAVE to wear all blue clothes. Displaying a flag in front of your house is a right everybody has. If the KKK can put up a cross every year in Cincinnati on Fountain Square, We can let some spanish speaking people display a mexican flag in front of their house. Seriously, there's a war going on in Iraq, and Iran is more dangerous than ever. It's dissapointing that people forget any real issues and waste their time on worthless sh$% like this. -James Dillaman -

Too bad that was the concert tour and not the stage show. Different. I've seen both. The stage show in Vegas was quite different from the How to Be A Megastar Tour 2.0 that I saw here in Cincinnati. I'm psyched that there's a new permanent BMG location in this country, as I love the shows. -James Dillaman

I'm not schocked about this. It kind of reminds me of Lesourdsville lake, the way money was being put into it, and when the money runs out.... Hello auction. It's a sad thing that seems to be a pattern with a lot of these older parks. If I lived near a park that's been around for 80+ years, I'd try to petition for landmark status. That would probably help their financial burden a bit. I haven't been there, but based on photo tr's, I can honestly say I wouldn't, as guy stated, drive 80 miles out of the way for this. -James Dillaman

Parks that let you down!
jamesdillaman replied to Canobie Fan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My biggest letdown at any park turned into one of my best visits ever. I drove the 6 hours to pigeon forge just to do Dollywood for the first time when Thunderhead opened. The remains of a hurricane centered in around knoxville and it POURED all morning. It was miserable. The park staff however turned it around for me by giving me a free windbreaker (I hadn't brought any warm clothes, as it was in August) and directing me to Blazing Fury. Also, when the weather finally cleared up, they decided to stay open an extra 3 hours!!! This was even though there were very few guests in the park!!! In the end I got more than 60 rides on the Thunderhead, with 43 straight in the back seat without getting up. I would have done more, but my legs fell asleep. Incidentally, this past summer Julia and I went down to ride Timber Tower, and it was down. The park still delivered in the end for us, though. -James Dillaman -

2006 Coaster Season Stats
jamesdillaman replied to DerekRx's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Had a pretty good year: Kentucky Rumbler in March. COLD!! Cedar Point Indiana Beach Kennywood Holiday World - twice Michigan's Adventure Paramount's King's Dominion Six Flags Magic Mountain - first time there and Tatsu campout was great fun! Dollywood - Except Timber Tower was down Beech Bend Park - During a Harley Davidson event! Saw naked biker chicks you'd never wnat to see naked, Paramount's King's Island - my frist time back to my home park in almost 2 years, and my first fearfest. So not too bad, but not as great as i had hoped, with losing my job mid-summer, my budget ended pretty quickly. -James Dillaman
