  1. I have only been on 4. My first freefall ride was Freefall at SFOG. I was expecting a fun little ride with some floater air, and I was completely blown away by the intensity of the drop! My head felt like it was about to explode! I quickly learned that floater air on a roller coaster is not the same as free-falling at all. It is still my favorite ride in the park, but I still have yet to ride Acro. My next step up, well actually a step down, was Shock Drop at Beech Bend, my first ride on a 2nd gen freefall. It is only 80 feet tall, but the drop is incredibly intense for a ride of its size. After 4 rides on it I could still not ride without cringing and tensing up on the way down. The day after I went to Beech Bend, I went up to Holiday World. Just from looking at Liberty Launch I could tell it would not be as intense as the other two freefall rides I had ridden. Waiting for the launch up is not nearly as scary as waiting for the drop down on other drop rides. I would not really consider this a true drop ride, since the launch down takes away the whole intense feeling of freefalling. Instead, you get a strong pop of at the top and then sort of float gently to the bottom. I liked it , but I did not feel any sort of accomplishment from riding it. My tallest and favorite freefall of all was Superman Tower of Power at SFSTL. I did not feel nervous while going up to the top. The only scary part was not knowing what to expect from the intenisty of the drop. The view from 230 feet up was incredible! I was on the side facing the front of the park, and the drop ride is at the very back in front of the Screamin' Eagle. The back of the park is up on a big hill, so I was probably looking down at least 330 feet to the front of the park. When it finally dropped, I immediately tensed up and couldn't breathe. The pressure in my head kept building up more and more as I got closer to the bottom, but when I was about halfway down the tower it stopped feeling so intense. By the time my head had adjusted to falling sensation we had already hit the brakes. After that I rode 2 more times, but I could have ridden it all day. Sorry, I'm not trying to write a novel here. I just really enjoy drop rides more than anything else at an amusement park. You just can't get the same feeling from any drop on a roller coaster, IMO. Superman is awesome! Shock Drop is really intense!
  2. I was at SFKK waiting to ride Twisted Twins, and when I got into the station some lady started yelling and lecturing me about how rude I was for cutting in line. She had actually been standing behind me the whole time, but she was just so determined to prove that she was right and make me go to the end of the line. Finally, I was like, "OK, you can get in front of me then." We still ended up getting on the ride at the same time, and I had to sit next to her.
  3. If you ride 2 different programs on a track-guided Robocoaster, does it count as 2 credits?
  4. This could be one of the new launched Gerstlauer rides. The concept art shows tri-rail track, which Gerstlauer just used on their new Eurofighter model.
  5. 1. The Voyage 2. Mindbender @ SFOG 3. Tennessee Tornado
  6. Best: The Voyage (for obvious reasons) Magnum XL 200's bunny hops of death! GASM's headchopper into the brakes! Tennessee Tornado's crazy turn and ejector air before the brakes The Beast's awesome helix (even though I absolutely hate the rest of the ride) Gemini's cool neck-snapping helix Worst: Adventure Express lift hill back to the station IJST's boring splashdown Raptor (the only uncomfortable part of the ride)
  7. The next one should be "Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, and Snakes on a Plane!"
  8. My original plan was, SFOG, Beech Bend, and Holiday World; and that was exactly what I did. Now I have gone to all of those places and ridden Goliath, Rumbler, and Voyage. Now I guess I am done for the year unless I get a car. Maybe I will get lucky and get to go to SFOG again or Lake Winnie.
  9. Beech Bend on Saturday amd Holiday World on Sunday, so I will be narrowly missing the crowds from the events at those 2 parks.
  10. Georgia Scorcher's Siamese twin supports always make me laugh. Haha! Look at that sad, pathetic little Siamese twin triangle support! He feels so left out! He's all like, "Why can't I have two legs like everyone else? Why?!"
  11. Kæmperutschebanen (since "track" ends with a k )
  12. That ride really looks like it would give you terrible whiplash! The KMG Afterburner is intense enough. Adding those freely rotating seats looks just too intense.
  13. I just checked the map. I had had always thought I was 6 hours away from Holiday World, but I realized that I am only 3 hours away! [screams like a little girl (well, maybe not)]
  14. Do you need a permit to build one inside your house?
  15. I found this cool site that's basically like RCDB, except it lists portable coasters and flat rides. It has some pretty good videos and very specific info. The g-forces are listed for most rides. I thought it was interesting that it said the KMG Afterburner pulls 5.2 g's! Kudos to whoever made this site! Check it out!
  16. Well, Imagine if someone hurled a quarter at your face at the speed of its terminal velocity. That would still be pretty painful!
  17. PKI's Beastie! Backseat!! It's just a family ride, but it's way better than the Beast.
  18. When I went to SFOG, I noticed that those "nets" really look more like metal chainlink fences. I really don't see the point of the nets. Loose change is probably the main thing that falls to the ground during the ride, and that could very easily slip through those large gaps. http://pictures.rcdb.com/picmax/six-flags-over-georgia/goliath46.jpg
  19. Thanks. I found out how to open my computer (just a little lever in the back). I see exactly where to put in the card, so I went ahead and bought this. It's a good deal, since it comes with the card, cable, and video editing software.
  20. I just bought a JVC Mini DV camcorder, and I want to transfer my videos on to the computer. I don't have a firewire port, so do I have to have one installed into my computer? Would I be able to put it in myself, or should I have it professionally put in? I have a Dell computer, and I do not see any way of taking it apart. I think Dell designed it so that only they could open it up. I didn't know anything about the Mini DV tapes or firewire cable when I bought the camera. I actually just thought that the video would be recorded onto an SD card, and I could put it on my computer with a USB cable. This is turing out to be a lot different than I expected, and I just don't get it!
  21. This game is kind of short, but it's still cool My high score was 163110. http://www.miniclip.com/waterslide/waterslide.php
  22. These are my high scores: Kitten Cannon- 1,704 ft. Bike Crash- 4950.20 m I got this weird thing that said "Type A double" or something that made me turn green and go 247 m in the air! This game is so awesome.
  23. The Dahlonega Mine Train is a good ride, but only in the back seat because of the last drop. I think it's cool how the layout looks just like it was designed in RCT. The ride is smooth during some parts, but it has really funky transitions that make it rough. http://rcdb.com/ig42.htm?picture=6 Each turn is very RCT-like, with the way that the track completely banks to a certain angle along straight track before going into the turn, and the turn stays banked at exactly the same angle until it reaches the straight leadout.
  24. I went yesterday and ended up waiting for 3 hours to ride. The wait time sign said only 2 hours, but it had not been updated. It was crazy how the line seemed to move only about 5 people at a time, instead of 36! It was irritating how only about half of the line had shade, and the same 20-minute loop of 5 songs played over and over. When I finally got on the ride, I rode in the backseat. The seats were surprisingly comfortable, and I got to have about an inch between my leg and the restraint. The whole ride had really amazing airtime. Sitting in the very back, I got floater air while going up the hills, and once it started going down, there was some really great pull-down airtime. The helix was also way more powerful than I had expected. I was already starting to grey out about half way through, so I moved around a lot to try to keep myself from blacking out. At the end of the ride, that last little pop of air really throws you forward a lot. The only really bad part of the ride is the location of the onride camera. When I looked at my picture, I looked exactly how I would just sitting in a chair while having my picture taken, since that is the least exciting part of the ride. I ranked the ride as my #3, just behind Millennium Force and Magnum XL 200.
  25. I rode it yesterday in the front seat of the back car. It's the same old, rough Ninja, but at least I had a smoother ride in the back car than anyone else on the train. For the first time ever, I actually had to wait in a line about 30 minutes long (all because of the 1-train operation). By the end of the day the line for the ride actually filled up the whole queue, which I had never seen before. Right before I got on the ride, the restraint of the seat where I had planned on sitting got stuck down. Luckily there was nobody in that seat, and the ride op just dispatched it like that. He didn't even care about trying to fix it, and he ended up opening it after the train had gone around once. Because of this, I had to sit by myself.
