  1. ^Thanks, talk about a lack of brain cells, I forgot about the park index.
  2. Does anybody have any pics from these parks? I would love to see what some of them look like. I also went to a place called Family Fun Spot. I can't remember exactly where it is located but it's not to far from where I live in Philly. I know it is just off an exit of I-95 south going towards the burbs of I'm going to say maybe Media or something. Does anybody on here know exactly where it is? I'm sure there are people who do. Anyway, what a dump. They had 2 waterslides, a picnic area, a go-kart area, and maybe some other attractions but it was located right next to a highway and industrial area. Oh boy ! We used to go there when I was a teenager and I never had to pay to get in because my aunt works for a karate organization and they used to have picnics there for the karate school and she would give me free tickets. Oh well, I shouldn't complain about getting in somewhere for free, but it was a dumpy place and we still had fun.
  3. Clementon Amusement Park, but now with some new owners it might turn out to be a decent little park.
  4. What type of ride was that you took a pic of that had seats like a bicycle? Your caption said it looked fun. What did it do? Just curious. Great report and pics, can't wait for the other updates.
  5. Well congrats on taking the plunge, err......I mean getting engaged! There should be more threads on weird and random things people buy when they are on vacation. I like to look at things like that, or does that make me strange? Well how about it people?
  6. I'm not sure about the other parks you mentioned but as for Morey's Piers in Wildwood,NJ it can be done in one day. You could hit the beach during the day or go to one of their waterparks(there are 3 of them although one is not affiliated with Morey's piers.) The beaches are free so you don't need a beach tag and do the rides at night and do all of the piers. They have 3 piers, get a wristband and it is good for all the rides on each pier. You can walk along the boardwalk and eat some amazing things along the way to the next pier.( get a couple slices of Mack's Pizza it's the best! )Water ice, fudge, ice cream, peanuts, french fries, etc, etc. Wildwood is a great beach resort town. Besides the boardwalk and all of it attractions there are many great places to visit and places to eat too off of the boardwalk. We have a summer home down there and I love it. Oh and if you can do breakfast while you are there, go Samuel's Pancake House located at 17th and Surf Avenue for the best pancakes in the world! Just google Wildwood,NJ and you can find info about this cool little beach resort. I hope this helps you with your trip!
  7. Great pics and report! I have the exact same pic of Hulk from the Seuss trolley train ride. Isn't the Seuss trollet train ride a great ride ? It goes pretty fast too. Why does your bf have a bag on his head on Jurassic Park? Did he not want to get his hair wet or was he being silly? I like that photo, it made me smile. I really love Universal and Islands of Adventure. I can't wait to go back, only 5 more months to go(July 10th-14th)! Can't wait for part 3 of your report.
  8. I've had bad experiences in restaurants, but this one takes the cake. My sister, cousin, aunt and I travel alot together and on this particular trip we went to Salem,MA for Halloween. We stayed in a little town called Peabody which was about 15 minutes outside of Salem. Well after sight-seeing one day, we go to dinner near our hotel. It was Carrabbas. I love this place an I told everyone I was with that they would enjoy their food. Well we sit down, order everything, service is good so far. We get our salads and appetizers and prepare to eat when my cousin's eyes get as wide as plates and screams,"Oh my God, look behind you!" and points. I look and there walking on the ledge of our booth is a happy family of roaches of all different sizes. Then we look down at our plates and see the same site on our salad plates. Well we all get out of the booth and my cousin proceeds to whack at the roaches with her napkin and they fall into the booth behind us. We tell the people in that booth where the roaches have just fallen what just happened to us and they look at us and continue to eat and drink and sit with the roaches. The fact that they would continue to eat with roaches around them, gross! Well we told our waitress. then we told the manager, he apologized and tried to give us free stuff, we said thanks but no thanks and left very quickly. And here is a little reminder of how clean a restaurant is. When you go into a restaurant, check out the bathroom first. You can tell how clean their kitchen is by seeing how clean the bathroom is.
  9. Great pics and report! Time Warp is a cool ride SFGA in Jackson,NJ used to have one and I used to like going on it when I would visit the park. It is sad when a park closes down. It looked like it was a nice park.
  10. Morey's looks like it has a great coaster on its hands. With the addition of this new coaster, maybe they will give some love to the former Hunt's Pier. Right now it just has some go-karts tracks on it and behind the Golden Nugget the store old ride parts and other things. I hope to see this happen. Great report and pics!
  11. I prefer Drake and Josh on Nick, but if keeps the kids happy and out of harms way(i.e.drugs,alcohol,etc...)then it's cool. Besides something new and better will come along next year and replace her.
  12. Wegman's Grocery store is the greatest! I wish I could live in Wegman's. Hey Elissa, was that Carrabba's just a mini version or could you also purchase products that they sell? Because if they sold that seasoning that they put on they plate with the olive oil on it, I would fly down there just to buy it because I LOVE THAT SH&*!!! It is so addictive. Every time we go there for dinner I pick up that little plate and lick it clean and of course my husband wants to smack me when I do that but who cares it is good stuff! We got so many gift cards for Carrabba's for Christmas it is insane! If you do a TPR cruise I will be there. And that is a beautiful pic of you and KT at dinner. She is one beautiful little girl. Great report.
  13. I love retro pics of theme parks and the ones you have posted here my friend are awesome! Thank you for sharing them with us.
  14. ^^ I love that one of the lions.
  15. I love black and white photos. The photos that everyone has posted are amazing. Keep up the great work!
  16. I personally like Robb's fanny pack in the last photo of him. Patch jackets and fanny packs are so cool. Robb should wear both on his next outing to a theme park just for old times sake and a good laugh too!
  17. Portofino Bay Hotel baby! The best hotel out of the 3 on Universal's property. Did they have any of the retro Disney ride posters for sale? I'll have to pick some up the next time I get down there. My grandmother has a retro Disney sweatshirt that she bought when she went to Disney on her one and only trip there and she still wears it! That was back in 1979. I don't think that she wore it that often because it looks brand new and every time she wears I tell her she looks cool in it. She just turned 87 years young.
  18. I'll have to get there this year.Clememton Park was never a bad little park, it just needs some tlc. Maybe the new owners will tear down that King Neptune's log flume and put in decent flume ride.
  19. Wow, it seems like you had a great time on your trip and I am really enjoying your report and pics. I remember when I first went back to Disney after a long hiatus, I was 5 years old the first time I went back in 1979, then it wouldn't be until the year 2000 until I got back there and I have been back every year since then. Keep up the good job and keep those photos coming!
  20. Also check out You Tube and type in Philadelphia Mummers Parade and you'll get an idea of the fun we have on New Year's Day!
  21. Happy New Year from Philadelphia,PA.! I wish everyone here at TPR a happy safe and healthy 2008. We are getting ready to ring in the new year with our own quirky little parade called The Philadelphia Mummers Parade. The parade is now in its' 107th year and the tradition of mummers dates back to pagan times when the new year was celebrated with dancing and drinking. If you google mummers, it will give you a better explanation of the whole thing. Anyway, there are 4 divisions;the comics, the fancies, the string bands, and the fancy brigades. Each division is judged separately. All divisions walk about 5 miles on Broad Street to the official judging area performing their routines along the way. Our favorite is the string bands which does a 3 minute routine set to a theme and music. The instruments played are saxaphones, banjos, violins, glockenspiels(which looks like a an upright xylophone). The music has a beautiful sound, you have to hear it to appreciate it. All of the clubs that are in the parade are located on 2nd Street(or 2 Street as some people call it) 3 miles long and all along 2nd street everyone opens up their homes for open house and may go in and have a drink or 2 and have something to eat and watch the parade as it comes back home. My husband and I live on this and our home will be open to new years' revelers. It is a little like Mardi Gras. You have to see it to believe it.
  22. Was this a school sponsored trip? It said that the lawyers tried to shift the blame away from the students and onto school and water park officials because in my opinion even if it was a school sponsored trip it was the fault of the students who were not following the rules. They shouldn't have received any money at all, it was their own fault they got hurt.
  23. I love looking at the old brochures from different parks. You are doing a great job my friend, keep it up and keep the trips down memory lane coming!
  24. In the words of the scientists who rebuilt the Six Dollar Man " We have the technology, we can rebuild him!" It would be nice if the coaster companies would listen to the people who actually ride their creations for feedback maybe they would give us something like The Bat today. It's not like that they don't have the technology to rebuild a ride like that today. Oh well, wishful thinking. Great trip down memory lane, please keep the report coming!
