Wow! A lot of negative feelings about this new project that is getting under way. I am a fan of both Disney and Universal. The only thing I hate about Disney is the way that they give out fast passes for only one ride at a time. Now when I got to Universal I always stay at one of their hotels to get front of the line access for their rides. Gotta love that. Both theme parks are great. Iam 33 years old and I love the HP books and movies. Of course she isn't a literary genius JK Rowling, but she created books for people to enjoy, not judge. How often do we read a trashy novel on the beach or read the tabloids on a flight to somewhere? And to say that she ripped off other stories and movies? Well, probably, but, hasn't that happened before? Flintstones=The Honeymooners, Star Wars=Buck Rogers and a million other different space stories, etc, etc. Things like books and rollercoasters were put on this earth to make us happy, not everyone likes books and not everyone likes rollercoasters. Be happy that you can go somewhere and enjoy the make believe that Disney and Universal have to offer. I know I do and I can't wait to taste my firstsip of ButterBeer!

You take beautiful photos my friend! Keep up the great work. Please don't holler at me but, I've never been to Epcot . I've been to every other park in WDW except for Epcot. My husband and I are going to WDW in October for our anniversary, so that is the first park we are going to visit when we get there. I've always wanted to go, but just never made it. Shame on me!

PTR: Taking parking lot theming to new heights!
bobafett replied to pete4winds's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
They used to set up a traveling carnival like that at my local WalMart. Ugh, what a mess it was. And there is a McDonald's located right next to the WalMart so it really got ugly at times. They stopped doing it about 6 years ago, thank goodness.Evey once in awhile when I'm in Jersey with my sister, we see a carnival set up in a parking lot. And the fact that people actually go to them knocks my socks off. We take the kids if they beg us enoogh. HA! I love to torture my nieces and nephews!!! -

I really liked the shot of Chiller at sunset. That was a beautiful photo even though you said you didn't like it, well I DID. I have to get back up there. It has been about 5 years since I've been to GA. The last time I was there, I had an incident with an undesireable person there and they wanted to arrest me because she said I assaulted her in line when in turn the only thing I did was report her for line jumping. She was overdeveloped 14 year old girl if you know what I mean. Some people just ruin it for me. Maybe I'll go during the week and won't run into the undesireables who come to the park on the weekend. Anyway really nice photos Buddy! -

I alwyas go in October with my company,UPS, for their annual picnic. UPS by the way is also celebrating 100 years of delievering magic or packages I should say. -

I like Hershey. It's small and very friendly and clean. My company has their annual picnic there each year and I just realized something, Hershey and my company,UPS, are celebrating their 100 years together. UPS=100 years, Hershey=100, wow! I went down the shore to Wildwood,NJ on Easter Sunday and it was freezing down there as well. Only one pier was open and all the rides were open, even the trusty old boomer-rang coaster The Sea Serpent. They even had a mini log flume for kids that was open and the WHACK JOB kids were on it. It was a good day though because I got my first taste of Macks pizza of the season ! MMMMMMM......Macks pizza! -
TPR Meet at SFA - Six Flags America!
bobafett replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I live about 2 hours, maybe 2&1/2, I would really love to come and hang out with all the TPR gang. If I can get someone to come with me and help with the driving, maybe I'll come. I live in Philadelphia, so it has to be what a half hour outside of Baltimore so that would be 2&1/2 hours for me. Plus I work night work and I only work 4 hours on Friday but I'm still on my crazy schedule from Mon-Thurs working 9 hours(6p.m till 4a.m, one hour paid lunch), and sometimes I don't get to sleep right away on Fridays. So I'll have to see. If I do, I'll RSVP. -

Even though it was a rough ride, you still had to go on it while at US. My husband and I sat in the back of the ride on our honeymoon, and boy did he almost break his neck! He is almost 7 feet tall and these people from another country were getting on the ride with us and wouldn't change seats with us.They wanted to sit in the front. Well after the ride my poor husband couldn't move his neck, but we went back on it because we had front of the line access passes from staying at the Royal Pacific. Then my sister went on it and she was PREGNANT at the time and didn't know it. We found out she was preggers when we got home after going on all the rides. We had a good laugh about that. Are they getting rid of the one in USC? I rode that one this past summer when I was out in CA. Oh well, I'll miss you BTTF, I'm glad I got to ride you one last time before your demise.I won't miss that awful Huey Lewis song that comes on after the ride. -

Great photos man. I can't wait to get back to WDW. Going in August(4 months away). Now I have a number of questions that maybe someone can answer for me. 1)What ride is taking the place of BTTF at USF? I will miss that ride. 2)What is going in Millionaire's place at MGM? 3)How different is Pirates at WDW than at DL? I was on Pirates at DL last July 2006(the 9th to be exact) and it was recently refurbished with the characters from the movie. I was told that people waited in line for 3 hours just to see the changes. Now not having seen the 1st film or the 2nd or nor not wanting too at the time of my visit, I said after the ride,"Well, if people waited 3 hours in line to see Johhny Depp's character in the ride in only 3 spots, they must be out of their skulls." I didn't see the big deal.I liked the ride before the changes and after the changes.I didn't need to Jack Sparrow to enhance my joy of the ride.I still haven't seen either movie. My husband thinks I'm a freak cause of it.Some please give me a description of both versions of the ride. Thanks! AND BRING BACK ALIEN ENCOUNTER! I LOVE THAT RIDE! -
Congrats and Kudos all around! Kids are so much fun. Even though we don't have any, my husband and I have a ton of nieces and nephews to keep us busy.If the two of you think you've been on some wild rides, this is going to be the wildest and craziest ride of your lives! Tell her if she needs to talk to someone when mom and dad won't listen, she can come talk to aunt boba fett at tpr. I'm glad that mom and baby are well. Congrats again!!

Whats Your Favorite Disney Hotel And Why?
bobafett replied to Hattuchili's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When I was 5 years old in 1979, we stayed at the Poly, which was only about $60 a night, my parents told me as we looked at old photos of the resort recently. I think that is how much the All Star Resorts start at now. On our most recent trips there we have stayed at the All Star Resorts which is a great deal for parents with kids if they want to go to Disney and not spend an arm and leg. Nice rooms, themeing. I stole a comforter from the All Star Music resort. It has pictures of singers and dancers on it. It is SOO warm. I love it! It is on my bed now, my husband hates it, he says it is too heavy, that is why I love it, it keeps me warm on cold nights. I would like to stay at the Contemporary. -
A Coke/Pepsi Connection
bobafett replied to carolinacaniac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I prefer Pepsi over Coke. Coke is way too sweet. My husband loves Coke. He can drink a six pack of Coke in about 30 minutes. There is nothing like digging into a cooler of ice and pulling out an ice cold Pepsi and cracking it open and taking that first swig,AHHHHHH!Like sweet, sweet, well I can't say what it is like but, what that first sip does to me, it sends chills down my spine. Now there is an old time ice cream fountain/restaurant around here where I live that makes a mean Cherry Coke. They actually pump cherry flavoring into the glass then pour the Coke into the glass. Now that rocks my world too. Oh, and if you ever come to Philly, ask someone where you can get a Frank's Black Cherry Wishniak soda. Again, that stuff is like liquid crack. I was addicted to it as a kid. Only a few places sell it now though, so anyone from the Tri-state area knows what I'm talking about! -

Looks like good eatin' to me. Looks like you guys are having great weather compared to us up north in Philly with the remnants of Ernesto raining on our Labor Day weekend. -

Sorry guys. The accident on the Jack Rabbit occured in August 1998, not 2001. I knew it happened but I just couldn't remember the year.Hope this helps out. -
1.) I was named after my dad, Robert Joseph, only my parents shortened it down to Bobbi Jo. I am not from any of the southern states,so please don't ask when we meet. I was born and raised in South Philadelphia. My name fits my personality weird and crazy ! 2.) I am scared to death of butterflies, especially the black and orange Monarchs . 3.)I am a rabid Star Wars fan hence my screenname which is also one of my cats name, although I am an Original Trilogy lover, not a fan of the Special Editions that were put out in theaters in 1997 with added footage. Istill have all of my toys from when I was a kid, they are on display in my home, some worse for the wear, others MIP(mint in package).Ican't wait for the original trilogy to come out on DVD on 9-12-06. 4.)I love cats! I believe that I was a cat in my former life. I have 2 and hope to add to my collection. If I could be the crazy cat lady,I would be. 5.) I can't think of anything else right now,but when I do I will post it.

Photo TR: SFA & Clementon/ J2!!!
bobafett replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
About 5 years ago,(I think that might be the right time frame)there was an accident on the Jack Rabbit rollercoaster. After the train was coming into the station after a ride, the brakes gave out and the cars continued rolling out of the station and crashed into a building that was attached to the coaster. A number of people were hurt and due to lawsuits and the fact that it was in poor condition,it was closed indefinitely after that. Also J2 was orginally named Tsunami when it opened in 2004, but after the devasting tsunami over in Indonesia in December of 2004(the 26th I believe) officials at Clementon decided to change the name as not to appear insensitive to the victims of the disaster.I hope that explains everything for you. I live about 20 minutes away from Clementon. -

Wow, what a great tr. I was just out in CA back in July(6th thru the 11th I was there). My cohorts and also did DL and DCA. Even though the parks are small, they are very nice. We didn't have any major wait times either. The longest we waited was for Soarin Over California and even that was only about 20 minutes.Oh the ferris wheel too, that was about a 20 minute wait.Let me tell you,if you want to get freaked out, go on the swinging gondola cars on the ferris wheel. OMG, I thought we were going to swing off the track! Scary but fun. We ate at Tortillia Joe's in Downtown Disney, let me tell you for a chain restaurant that was some pretty good Mexican food.Don't eat at Naples though, the Italian place. The worst ever.Carrabba's Rules!!Very nice out there in Southern Cali. The best was the Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwiches with the cookies and cream icecream in the middle.I ate one everyday in the park! Didn't get a chance to do Magic Mountain though.Oh well, maybe next time I'm out west.
