  1. They are planning on doing a publicity shoot next Friday, so perhaps whatever was anticipated to cause the delay was able to be corrected.
  2. You would be correct! I vaguely remember an internet cafe type place in Toon Lagoon to on my first visit to IoA?
  3. Since they added the gun back a few years ago, I would guess that there won't be any more changes to Jungle Cruise coming from political correctness.
  4. I love that parks are starting to get social media a little bit more. Those were some cool photos!
  5. ^Same. I'm also excited for the added performers to bring more life to Ghost Town.
  6. Seems weird that they would opt out of the licensing agreement at only one of the parks....but anything is possible I suppose.
  7. ^You lost me at UCLA.
  8. Flight of the Hippogryph @ USH.
  9. Hope it works out. I've never been to Atlantic City, so this would give me an excuse to check out the casinos there.
  10. I'd do the desserts, the chicken burger, and the pork loin. But I imagine the locals will love the seafood options.
  11. Hoping to get to SFDK and CGA in the next month!
  12. Very sleek! Nice to see some newer designs in small ships.
  13. I'm glad AK now has a night time show to keep people there longer. To me, it's World of Color 2.0, which doesn't excite me...but it is something that was sorely needed at the park.
  14. I think it depends on what you are looking for... HHN will provide the highest quality sets/costumes, but the scares themselves are limited to make sure you get that "walking through the movie" feel. Haunt is the winner if drinking is a must. HHN does not serve alcohol, Haunt has beer gardens. The quality of the mazes is slightly below HHN in my opinion, but still pretty damn good (Paranormal Inc is spectacular though). I think you get repetitive scares there too (snarls, people hitting walls with their slider gloves), but you also get a lot more of them because of the amount of mazes and larger scarezone.
  15. My guess is that WDI is stretched pretty thin with Shanghai and the other projects on the books right now, so getting things done to TDS standards would be more costly than a typical development cycle.
  16. Did you know that it was built in 1974 as the Buena Park Hotel as one of the premier hotels in north Orange County. It eventually began to deteriorate and show its age and the owners couldn't afford to bring it back to its former glory. In 1998 CF gave the owners of the hotel an offer they couldn't refuse. CF brought it up to Radisson standards, which was still a few steps below where it used to be. The irony is that those previous owners finally had the money they needed. They bought an aging hotel up the street and turned it into one of the better hotels around the park. Didn't know that, but it sure feels like CF hasn't much love into it since 1998 aside from new TV's in the rooms and the switchover to Amber Waves.
  17. I'd say that *IF* they wanted another coaster, you'd see something megalite in size at best thanks to the already mentioned height restrictions. San Diego takes it's coastal sightlines very seriously. Which also makes the discussion of an on-site hotel interesting as well...they will likely have to battle if they opt for a large tower to save space.
  18. It's still an older radisson with new paint and newer furnishings. Small rooms, thin walls, no real amenities besides its location. Would love to see them give it the Hotel Breaker treatment and basically re-build the entire interior.
  19. The hotel is just an old radisson they haven't put much love into since buying it....it's definitely due for a major overhaul
  20. I don't think the look of the console is of a very high priority when doing the electrical system design. You're basically just building a housing big enough to hold all the inputs and outputs, buttons, and panel views and making sure there is enough airflow to keep the components from over heating. Those smaller buttons seems to be almost a standard in Europe.
  21. At least you only had to pay $6 to ride that terrible coaster. Some of us on here may or may not have been guilty of paying a lot more to ride this when it was still at Satan's Village...
  22. There's not much known about it yet, so it's hard to discuss. I LOVE the idea though. Although I fear it will become the new Trader Sams and all the hardcore fans will keep it ridiculously crowded all the time.
  23. The Ultra Twisters, Bandit, and Fujiyama are all enjoyable. Just seems like TOGO had bad luck in the U.S. I also wouldn't say it was Knott's being "swindled." Keep in mind back then the park was still under the ownership of the Knott's family and Vekoma was pretty much the only option for cheaper/thrilling coasters. Assuming someone representing the Knott family traveled to Japan to ride the good TOGO's, I'm sure for the price they paid it seemed like a good deal. Side note, if you google Windjammer, you can find an article with this gem of a quote:
  24. My guess is that it is related to building codes...cover it and it might be treated the same as a regular building and be subject to other requirements that CGA is either unable to accommodate or too cheap to do it. In any case, it's one of the worst things about CGA on a hot summer day!
  25. Schools are out by then and that's close to 4th of July weekend. I wouldn't risk waiting too long if you have the money now.
