  1. No matter the park, There are so many variables involved with even the simplest ride system that it's the equivalent to a crap shoot. Some days everything will work perfectly, other days a whole park will breakdown throughout the day. I wouldn't read into it except you just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time twice.
  2. It looks like they went more for detail and recreating key scenes from the show over straight up scares. Can't wait to check it out.
  3. I love this one just for the WaterWorld set!
  4. I assume it will be sent to another Cedar Fair water park. It's a fun slide, but there is already a tornado at Hurricane Harbor and Aquatica. Replacing one big slide with 7 new ones and new cabanas seems like a huge improvement for a park that desperately needed something since Pacific Spin was their last new addition in 2006. Site plan New slide replacing Pacific Spin New Slide complex Another view of complex
  5. ^^Nice find. When the fire station is moved, it should improve flow in the western lot.
  6. It has 83% on rotten tomatoes now, so I suspect it will at least be a moderate hit.
  7. Since it's the start of 4th of July weekend, I would imagine that this Friday will be busier than a typical summer Friday.
  8. Yeah, first the Smiler and now this. Here's hoping that Lost Gravity isn't next. I mean, I hope it never happens again, but these things do happen unfortunately. Suddenly, the SLC doesn't sound that bad. It's probably the difference from being hit by a semi and being hit by a sedan, but still. Horrible news. Hope all manage to recover. Unfortunately, I wasn't surprised to see the words "M&Ds" and "Accident" in the same sentance. Ever since I first saw photos of that place, I was shocked that I hadn't heard of any major accidents taking place there. Seems like it was bound to happen... Then again, at a park with a Pinfari innert, what can you expect? As a side note: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cobra_(Tivoli_Friheden) Not aPinfari, but a similar enough style of ride... There's a reason only select companies build inverts (Excluding Chinese Knock-offs).... Good example of "Do it right or don't do it at all". Big difference: Pinfari (and now Interpark) has been building portable roller coasters since 1965 when the first Zyklon was built. The other inverted accident was a companies first ride. Pinfari has built 4 of these with no issues until now.
  9. Believe it or not, the one I rode (Bat Coaster @ Nigloland) was surprisingly smooth. Judging by the amount of rust seen in the wheel bogey photo and supports, I'm not sure we can blame the manufacturer at this point.
  10. Looks like a HUGE upgrade over Maelstrom. Can't wait to check it out.
  11. That puddle it made though.... EDC is always a blast for the total experience. 4 years straight for me. ^^My understanding is that Circus Circus is a huge profit center for MGM.
  12. I'm guessing this will be the Secret Life of Pets project that has been rumored. Seems bold to begin developing an attraction based on a movie before the movie has been released but maybe they think the film will do well enough to justify an attraction. Say what you will about Universal and Comcast but they do seem to be aggressively expanding their park business. I think even if the movie bombs, a ride featuring cartoon animals could still end up being a great family ride. After all, USH is the same theme park that has one of the better (if not best) theme park stunt shows based on one of the biggest movie flops of all time!
  13. That's what dynamic pricing is. They'll keep jacking up AP prices and adjusting blackout days to make it balance out.
  14. Yeah, that's exactly why I think Disney focuses on high end in CA...it isn't worth it to add a value resort with so much competition and not being able to "trap" them like they can at WDW with so much to do.
  15. You can find my white A$$ at the HoJo for like $100 with a shorter walk to the gate. I imagine they are counting on two things: 1. rich international tourists still pouring in 2. People with families who will charge their convention visit to their expense account. Personally, I've always enjoyed Hotel Menage across the street. 24 hour pool and nice rooms.
  16. Even if he was, why the hell does it matter? So what if someone likes an RMC coaster better?
  17. ^Oh I most definitely will! In other news, MGM finally revealed the renovation of Monte Carlo. The main hotel will become "Park MGM" (very imaginative) and the former top floor botique hotel (Hotel32---best kept secret in vegas IMO) will become NoMad (which apparently has a New York outpost). Oh, and they also started charging for parking...
  18. It's fun. It's called dreaming. It's the Xcelerator that always should have been. And don't say never. It's not uncalled for to alter old rides into new ones. Knott's has no room. If they want better coasters then something has to go. I say keep the best part of X Xcelerator and redo the crappy part. Kills two birds with one stone. Gives Knott's a new coaster while the same time not sacrificing the only part people care about. KBF has had "no room" for the past 20 years if you believe message boards...
  19. ^You just summed up the exact reason I will be thrilled when a version of Fastpas+ comes to the DLR. The park is so insanely crowded, anything to better allow someone actually experience the things they want to without having to know how to game the system will make the experience much better.
  20. ^^You posted a long explanation about why none of what the guy posted is feasible.. I am just pointing out the fact that *IF* KBF wanted to do any of those, modern engineering/architecture would make it possible to fit in a ride and the proper space necessary for events, offices, etc.
  21. 1) Wave Swinger is extremely popular. It's not going anywhere. 2) The Fiesta Stage is used a lot more than you think. 3) Those buildings adjacent to Boomerang contain a very popular and profitable ballroom, an employee break room, fluffy, fluffy bunny filled with medicine and goo room, and cafeteria, guest restrooms, several food outlets, ride offices, and the Calico Mine Ride 4) Or since Boomerang is very old just scrap it for cash and then sell Michigan Adventure. 5) Remove Pony Express, sell it for scrap, and leave that space empty. Plus a coaster going all over Ghost Town would destroy Ghost Town. 6) It's Camp Snoopy, but I agree on the new attractions. 7) Do you realize the bumper cars are under the theater ramp? It would have to be a literal flat ride. 8) Jaguar! the coaster is currently using its own temple. You can't use it for your dark ride. 9) Where would your new wooden coaster go? Is there any ride at KBF that you don't think is extremely popular? Modern engineering can make almost anything possible if KBF wants to build something extremely ambitious. I don't think any space in the park is off limits except for Ghost Town based on what seems to be the emphasis on preserving history.
  22. I'd like to see them meet in the middle again...GhostRider and that expansion of Ghost Town were very well done when first built. Cedar Fair just plopped rides wherever they could, came up with a western backstory and called it a day with no care about the look/feel. If they were going to destroy the charm, they could have at least made the rides top 10 quality rides...
