  1. If we are talking about the MGM version...they probably put a bag over her head because she is so ashamed of how crappy their version is.
  2. ^^2000 was the last time those jokes were funny.
  3. No way. They are doing it "piece by piece", but they are showing no mercy. I watched them cut off a support piece...and just let it fall to the ground. No care taken at all.
  4. Ok, she was using the knife to eat her FOOD. We all know it's a serious thing...she could have had a serious talk...And my analogy makes perfect sense, your not listening to what I say. You already have your mind made up that your right and everyone else is wrong. Maybe YOUR the one who is wrong on this...considering, your one of the only people who think they didn't over-react. BUT OH WAIT!!!! It's from a teachers POV, that makes it right. Everyone stand back!!! The teacher obviously has wayyyyy better logic than the rest of the world, because of the fact THEY are a teacher. NVM The majority of us are alllll wrong, becuase the teacher has better comon sense than us. [/sarcasm] Uhm...I don't know even know where to begin. Lets say your the parent of a kid who was just stabbed at school. By another kid who stole (or found, or asked to borrow, or a million other possible scenarios how they ended up with this "harmless" knife) the knife from the girl. Or better yet, you child was accidentally stabbed by the knife. Or another 50,000 possible things that could go wrong resulting in your child being severely injured by a girl who obviously meant no harm. Is it OK your child was severely injured because the girl obviously meant no harm? Your analogy also makes absolutely no sense at all. Not even taking into account the fact you're not breaking the law if you were to deviate from the list (as opposed to the girl who did break the law), you also don't have a career (salary, benefits, etc.) on the line if you deviate from the list. You also don't work for a government institution, and aren't going to have to answer to parents/media/etc. if anything went wrong (even assuming the worst case scenario of someone slipping and falling and dying because you couldn't clean up a spill--the managers ass is on the line, not yours). I could keep going on about why your comparison isn't a fair comparison at all... By the way, it's been pointed out over and over and over again that all these possible scenarios are exactly why the policy is in place and must be followed all the time. I guess you were too busy accusing other people of not listening and might have missed those posts. You might have also noticed that Rich's opinion is the majority in this thread, but don't let all these little things get in the way of your sarcasm. That's totally how you prove your point, especially when your sarcasm is filled with internet shorthand and misspelled words. And as a side note, your opinion is one of the many reasons our public education system sucks ass. Nobody has any respect for the teachers. They are damned if they do, damned if they don't. Rich is a teacher who cares about his students, so I don't think it's a stretch by any means to say his opinion is of much more value in this thread. A minor holding a sealed bottle of alcohol in a super market is not against the law. No court would call that possession unless the intent of the kid was to steal or attempt to buy it with a fake ID (or have his parents buy it for him). A girl bringing a knife to school (no matter the circumstances) is. I have to disagree with you on that. I would venture to say that it is actually people like you who cause those "annoying rules and regulations" to be created. Because when your "innocent fun" goes wrong, it causes people to realize how stupid/dangerous/etc. it is. Of course, I don't see how something that is against the law (if we are relating this to what happened to the girl) could be "innocent" in the first place... Oh, and now my official moderator note to this discussion: Lets not let it degrade to personal attacks. If you want to disagree, please do so in the proper manner.
  5. Those would be great X-mas gifts...if it was 2000.
  6. Revolution has always had those trim brakes. They were used as block brakes, since the ride used to run 4 or 5 trains.
  7. I think its funny how the original DCA concept art is so much better than the little mermaid concept art they released...maybe it's their way of fooling the accounts into thinking there's nothing they can cut out? IMO, DCA is still a really nice park. I think people would be calling it one of the top 5 nicest parks in the world if it wasn't a Disney park. But that's the problem. It's a Disney park across from Disneyland, so the bar is automatically raised too high.
  8. I totally agree with Rich. Rules are rules, and they are the same for everyone. You guys would be calling for a ride operators head if they let a kid who was too short on a ride and that kid got hurt. I'm guessing the teacher was just doing her job, following the set policy when a weapon is found on campus. She'd get in more trouble for not doing her job, so I respect her decision. Besides the school district going after her, imagine if something bad were to happen in the future (or this time for that matter). You don't think the media and parents would be all over the teacher for not following procedures???? The reality is that times have changed a lot even since I was a kid (and I am only 22!). The school has to protect themselves and the students, which means enforcing the rules for everybody. Thankully nothing happened, but what if the girl accidentally hurt someone with the knife? Schools have to apply the rules to everyone to avoid the "what if" situations becoming reality. Besides, does anyone really think the DA is going to force the issue? I'm sure they'll probably just make the kid and the parents attend some class and consider it done.
  9. I would hardly call what he posted "mourning." He basically just said he wanted the credit, and doesn't care for X since he got the credit and the ride blows. I personally wouldn't care if X was demolished either.
  10. RIP Psyclone: are those your pictures?
  11. I'd love to see a ride based on the new movie. Seriously. How awesome would a ride based on kidnapping the president to find a book of secrets be?
  12. Let the record show the wing that Chris is eating in that picture is an "ice" wing. Wuss.
  13. Hmm...where have I heard this all before?
  14. I just felt like quoting this post. It seemed like the appropriate thing to do.
  15. Better start saving now. And save lots. The Euro (or Pount) is really going to cost you...
  16. I've heard that B&M actually has to license that track style design from Giovanola. I believe Giovanola still fabricates the european B&M coasters as well.
  17. Batman usually has one train down for rehab at the beginning of the year.
  18. ^^Camden Yards was really cool. Wish I had more than my cellphone camera for it.
  19. It's him. It's his avatar.
  20. Let me just say that the video doesn't even do that effect justice. It's just that cool.
  21. There should be some oversight. Just not at a federal level. As a matter of fact, I think California has a very good system for regulation. Long story short, the law just makes sure all the employees are being properly trained and that everything is being done according to the manufacturers guidelines. It also makes sure all accidents that require beyong basic first aid are reported and any problems are corrected. Just enough to keep the parks honest without being obnoxious and overbearing (Like New Jersey, which IIRC, has a G-force limit).
  22. My vote is for the Miami cruise. I guess I was spoiled going on one of the "Voyager class" ships (the 2nd biggest class of ships) for my first cruise, but I really can't imagine anything smaller. There was so much to do, I never even felt like I was on a ship.
  23. El Toro > All of the above. Plus the flashpass system is WAY better at SFGADv.
