Thank you, Jeremy, for posting the picture! For some reason, I couldn't post anything (even a reply) from my phone this morning. DJeXel, yes! It is very exciting. Jeremy and I have been tracking the construction of this coaster from the beginning. It's so cool to see it coming together so nicely. I definitely think it will test this week.

Photo TR - Impulse Opens at Knoebels!
CoasterCrazy88 replied to A.J.'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Awesome update! I'm really intrigued by the fact that Impulse is so quiet. For anyone who's ridden Wicked, is it that way also? I'm visiting Lagoon as soon as Cannibal opens, so I guess I'll see for myself at that point. -
I'm pretty sure many are going to think its dangerous. I don't know if its a So Cal thing, but many many people I talk to don't like the feeling of airtime. Maybe it's why SFMM has more inversions than any other park in the world? If anything it will keep lines shorter for the ride! (dreaming, I know). Below are some verbatim examples from instagram comments on photos of Twisted Colossus (I won't post usernames because I'm not a jerk)- "That sh!t look bent" "Yup someone's gonna die on there." "sorry but how can i prevent to get backache on the green track " "The green part, was it supposed to look like that? (The bent/messed up part)" "omg that does look concerning" So yes, I agree! Once the ride is open, the GP's reactions will be incredible!

Vegas Suggestions
CoasterCrazy88 replied to Joe_Spence's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hi Joe, I completely agree with Bert in regards to Mystere. The show is excellent, and since you are staying at Treasure Island, you can probably get a great deal. Before I mention anything about the strip (and yes, I know you won't be in Vegas for very long) I have to mention Bootleg Canyon Flightlines. I've ziplined in Bali, Indonesia as well as the Sequoia National Forest, and neither of those compare to the lines at Bootleg Canyon. They are the fastest, longest, and most thrilling zips I have ever experienced. The drive is less than 40 minutes from the strip, and they provide tours at all hours of the day, including incredible sunset tours. I strongly encourage you to look into them if you are into that sort of thing! As for the strip, check out the High Roller at the Linq. You can get pretty good discounts on specific nights, so take a look at the website and see what you can find. The view from the top of the wheel is truly amazing, especially late at night. As for coasters, I'd do all of them! In regards to things to see and do at hotels, definitely see the Bellagio fountains at least twice! They are always awesome, and the experience of viewing them both at night and during the day is great. The conservatory is beautiful as well, and it changes with the seasons. The Aria/Vidara/Cosmopolitan area is nice just to walk around in (near Crystals), and Wicked Spoon has one of my favorite brunch buffets. If you are into Japanese food, I cannot say enough about Yama Sushi. It is a hole in the wall, but the hot appetizers and sushi are the best I've had outside of Asia. The Izakaya-style skewers and the albacore are out of this world. For a more American route, try Hubert Keller's Burger Bar at the Mandalay Bay. Theirs are the best burgers I've ever had, and the special milkshakes are delicious. Yama and Burger Bar are the two restaurants I never miss when I visit Vegas! -
East USA trip 2015 planning
CoasterCrazy88 replied to dragon2000's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hello Andrew, It is wonderful to see that you are planning this trip. It is going to be an amazing time, I am sure! I have taken two coaster trips to this region, and I think your itinerary is excellent. I have scanned over the responses, but I have not read everything in detail so I hope I do not say things that others have already covered. I agree with AndyBarnes84, who stated that flying into Newark, NJ instead of JFK, NY would be a good idea. I dislike both airports, especially compared to ones in Asia, but Newark provides you with the opportunity to possibly hire a car for a cheaper rate. I must say that there are two things not listed in your plans that I wish you could experience while in the Northeast U.S.A. The first is certainly not going to fit into your schedule: L'International Des Feux Loto-Quebec, an international fireworks competition (it comes with 10 coaster credits too, since admission to the nighttime competition includes 10:00 am to 10:00 pm admission to Le Ronde!). Last time I was in New York, I made the drive into Quebec for this, and it is something I would recommend to everyone. The fireworks were UNREAL, and getting several free rides on Goliath were wonderful. Nevertheless, I understand that there's no way you could really pull that off, considering your time constraints... Which brings me to my second suggestion: Lake Compounce. You could possibly make this work, especially considering the fact that it is only 40 miles from Six Flags New England. Boulderdash is absolutely incredible; I even prefer it to El Toro by a very slight margin. If there is any way you could fit that park in, I can almost guarantee you won't regret it. Personally, I think that two days at Cedar Point are definitely a good idea, but a single day at Six Flags Great Adventure should be fine, especially if you are willing to purchase a Qbot. When I took my mom and brother last summer, we were able to get all the credits, plus ride Nitro five times, El Toro six times, and Zumanjaro once. While I agree with what people have said about the water parks, I feel that Dorney's Wildwater Kingdom is worth checking out. The white Patriot's Plunge slide and teal Snake Pit slide provide some of the most intense airtime I've ever experienced on a raft/tube attraction. The capsule drop slides are nice too, as their layouts are particularly unique. If you have time, do Six Flags New England's water park as well. There are a few great slides there too. I'll also add that Hershey's water park is certainly not worth visiting, especially with the stellar collection of Intamin coasters just outside (Skyrush, Storm Runner, and Fahrenheit). In regards to driving, I always prefer to stay near the park I visited during a given day, and then drive to the new destination in the morning. Many of the parks you are visiting are not particularly far from one another, so I think that would be a safe bet. Hotels in the region shouldn't run you more than $130 U.S per night, for someplace quite nice! One last thing that's on my mind at the moment: Hershey Park is home to the best sandwich I've eaten in my life...Anywhere. The Smokehouse Grill is not listed on Hersheypark's website, as it is an independently operated establishment. Located just adjacent to Trailblazer, this place has pulled pork sandwiches that are ridiculously good. My family and I decided to eat there after speaking with two locals in line for Storm Runner. They said that we wouldn't be able to find a better lunch than at Smokehouse Grill, and I definitely agree wholeheartedly! If you have any questions about hotels or anything, please PM me. I'd be happy to help in any way I can. All the best, Antonio -

This would be absolutely awesome. I love dive machines, so I would certainly take a trip out there! -
I have often heard that foot tattoos are incredibly painful. My first one was placed there, and I didn't find it to be bad at all. Then again, it was just script, so I don't imagine that would hurt nearly as bad as one with lots of color/fill-in. Anyway, my first one is the beginning and ending lines of a song, in an effort to encompass the entire set of lyrics on one body part. My second one (on my left side/ribs) is an Anjunabeats "A" logo with lyrics from two separate songs. I thought it would be cool to incorporate the symbol into the sentence, since it is technically an "a" anyway. This piece was far more painful that the foot, and not just because of the placement. The healing process really sucked, as all the areas with multi-layer color formed gross volcanic peaks before they peeled. Not a big deal though, the whole thing turned out great and looks as fresh now as it ever has. Both encapsulate a ton of meaning for me, and each have somewhat lengthy back stories. Perhaps one day I will get one that's just a piece of artwork... Maybe something I design and draw myself. For now, however, these two are all I've got. My first one... And my second one!

A lot of the posts so far have mentioned numerous things I've eaten, so I won't name any of those... That would just be repetitive. Now for the new ones! - "Tongue and Intestines Rice" in North Kalimantan, Borneo (I have no idea where the tongues or intestines came from, as no one around spoke English and the food was served to me without any choice on my behalf) - Boiled Jackfruit with green chili in Sala, Bali (It tasted like fatty pork) - Pig skin with fat and chicken blood in Gianyar, Bali (This is a food which is served at ceremonies. I only ate it because the people around me had welcomed me into their home and I wanted to be polite. A village elder who was seated next to me called the dish "blood", and only after much questioning did I get the true ingredients: Fatty pig skin soaked in chicken blood)

Ah, Cirque Du Soleil! I saw Ovo in Santa Monica, and I was quite letdown. I saw Iris at the Kodak Theater when it first opened, and it blew me away. I then saw it again a year later. After that, saw it two more times within 6 months, including its final showing ever. I absolutely loved that show. I really want to see O at the Bellagio next. Hopefully this summer!

What is your non-theme park travel bucket list?
CoasterCrazy88 replied to disneyfan1313's topic in Random, Random, Random
I spent almost a month in Bali last summer, and some time in Hong Kong as well. You are absolutely right to want to visit those two places. I loved Bali, and I'll be returning this year for research. It is definitely beautiful, but it isn't what I thought it would be. It can be peaceful, but not in most places. I found it to usually be very loud, bustling, crazy, and dirty. It is a third world country, but that is part of its charm. It just isn't for everyone. I really hope you get to experience it though! I highly recommend it. As for Hong Kong food.... OMG. You are dead on. I miss it on a consistent basis. They have amazing cuisine, in high class restaurants and as street food. I have to go back someday. -
My major isn't even listed on the poll. I'm currently in the process of earning my Bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology, and I will continue on to receive a Master's Degree in Sociocultural Anthropology as well.

TPR 2012 Trip Questionnaire!
CoasterCrazy88 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
YAY! I've filled out the questionnaire. I am incredibly excited about the lineup for the 2012 trips. I had to put down "somewhat interested" on a few, as I can't make a final decision on which one right now! No matter what though, I will make it on one trip. If I can gather enough funds for Mainland Europe, I'll definitely do it. It sounds amazing and I've always wanted to get there. --Antonio -

Want to see a DDR song played on the piano? I think it's pretty awesome. -
Ok, this should be fun! 1. Male 2. 18 3. My first roller coaster experience was Space Mountain at Disneyland in California. I was three years old. 4. I honestly began to love roller coasters that very day, at age three. As soon as I got off Space Mountain, my parents took me on Big Thunder Mountain, Gadgets Go Coaster, Matterhorn, etc. I have never been able to get enough coasters since then. 5. I look at roller coasters every day for a little while at least, so I guess 7 times a week. 6. I rarely purchase roller coaster merchandise. It would have to represent a very important coaster. (Eg. my 500th credit) 7. I visit theme parks TONS in a given year. I'll go to my home park about 12 times in a year, plus my trips. This year I'll probably go to a theme park about 30 times, and that doesn't include water parks. I go to water parks almost weekly, all summer long. 8. I love roller coasters for tons of reasons. I love the feelings of weightlessness, freefall, positive G's...I just love it all. Most importantly though, Roller coasters give me feelings nothing else can provide. They are totally unique and wonderful experiences and I truly love them. 9. I do find it difficult, yes. Roller coasters are one of my biggest passions in life and I feel incomplete without them. 10. I don't feel a "need", but I do love the feeling of speed. If I could legally drive my car 130 miles per hour on the freeway, I would. 11. I completely feel it is addictive. 12. I satisfy the addiction by riding roller coasters whenever I can. I have had season passes to my home park (Six Flags Magic Mountain) for 14 years. Plus, I take roller coaster trips in the summer. 13. That is a difficult question. There are many roller coasters I wish were longer, but I think they are fine as they are. If they were too long, they would either become boring or nauseating! 14. I would say no, not really. I guess if you go down to the very bottom of things though, I do..... After all, I'm on this forum and I am going on TPR trips! That creates an experience of more roller coasters. 15. I'd say about twice per week in the winter months, and 7 - 10 times per week in the spring and summer months. That's because I need to be in the trip forums to keep up with the info about whatever TPR tour I am on that year. 16. Sure! Every once in a while, I'll watch some POV's of roller coasters I really love, especially if they were on a TPR trip. It brings back memories and makes me happy. I hope I helped you! - Antonio

^ I suggest you watch this documentary. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0455980/ The film is called "Modify". It is an incredible movie about body modifications, tattoos, implants, piercings, burns, brandings, and suspensions. There are tons of interviews with people who participate in these activities and they explain in great detail why they enjoy them. Everyone has their own opinions and feelings on things of this sort, and I can tell you without question that you do not have the right to say that any activity is created so people can draw attention to themselves. "Modify" is an awesome documentary and it can shed some light on why people are into these things. You should really watch it. --- Antonio

I have many concerts to look forward to this year! If all goes as planned, the first part of 2011 will look like this: 1. Against Me! January 29th. (Tomorrow!) 2. Pendulum February 25th. 3. Streetlight Manifesto February 27th. 4. HARD March 12th, with Simian Mobile Disco, Fake Blood, Mumbai Science, Egyptrixx, Destructo, etc. 5. Beyond Wonderland March 19th, talent TBA. 6. Black Veil Brides, VersaEmerge, and Conditions March 24th. 7. My Chemical Romance May 27th. That's what is set so far, but I may also see Starpool in February. Later in the year, I'll attend the Electric Daisy Carnival as well as Nocturnal Festival, and possibly Audiotistic. Aside from these, I'm sure other shows and raves will come along which I might go to as well. --Antonio -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
