  1. Please tell me you bought that tree hat. And plan to wear it while grocery shopping. dt
  2. I thought the poll was canceled due to Prowler being the best coaster ever and nothing else could compete. I could be totally wrong about this, though. dt
  3. ^What's really scary is that Denny's could be considered "fine dining" at these places! dt
  4. Thanks for posting this. I doubt I'll ever get to this part of the world, so I really enjoying seeing pictures of it. dt
  5. - Dinosaur What else needs to be said?!? Oh, OK, I'm also thankful for all the cool people I've met through this site. I am always amazed when I meet anyone that can put up with me and my nonsense for more than five minutes, so the fact that there are actually people that look forward to seeing me every year and will actually invite me to their homes and stuff continues to amaze me. Robb & Elissa have been and always will be among my best friends. I have laughed and had great times with these two more than anyone else I've ever known. Again, why they still speak to me 10+ years later is a mystery that even science cannot solve (much like calculating Jeff Johnson's true age), but I do really appreciate them, and am constantly amazed at how much work they put into this site and the trips and in general keeping us all entertained. You both deserve a cookie. Oh, and we cannot forget the one thing to be thankful for that without TPR and specifically the Japan 2007 trip would not have otherwise existed: Ice Bat. dt
  6. ^I didn't have a laptop, so I was just making the rest of them type my commentary. And they were reading me the amusing stuff from the chat. Great evening! That movie was awesome. Not quite as good as Mega Piranha or Sharktopus, but still awesome. dt
  7. The park did not seem as well run as it was in the past. A fair number of closed attractions, and the whole place just didn't seem quite as nice. The tacos still ruled, though. dt
  8. This thread has been beyond awesome. One of my favorite threads of the year, with all the IN DEPTH coverage. Have not gotten a chance to watch all the videos yet, but will likely get through them this weekend. Thanks for all the hard work on the IAAPA coverage, everyone! Prowler blesses you all! dt
  9. I think that season pass price is more than fair. Actually, I think all parks should charge more for their season passes. I think we can all see the amazing success Six Flags has had with their cut-rate pricing. Cheap season passes just make it easier for the park to become a baby sitting service for the locals. Which is not what a park is for. As far as the Hotel Hershey goes, it's always been promoted as an upscale place, and is really marketed to an entirely different demographic than the average theme park visitor. I haven't been in the place since the mid-80's (when I moved out of PA), but I remember it being very nice and the food was very good. I don't see them changing the focus of this hotel any time soon. I do think they should concentrate on the park and not keep trying to expand into the hotel business. I generally like the park, though like many think the water park area really should have been put in the old golf course or some other location. They could have even made it a separate gate, though that might have been hard to pull off with Dorney and their water park not being all that far away. I've never stayed in a hotel in the area to go to the park (I used to live in Harrisburg, and now live in Baltimore so it's easy for me to get there for the day if I like), but are there not cheaper options in the area than the two Hershey owned properties? Seems like it would be somewhat difficult to compete with established national chains, and they might just be better off staying away from building a "cheap" resort. Though I do think if they could tear down the old arena and replace that with a more upscale hotel with an indoor waterpark, that might be an interesting idea for them to make more money year round, plus it would have super-easy access to the park for guests. I don't really see Dutch Wonderland becoming any sort of "threat", unless they have a lot more land for expansion than I remember that area having. I'd say their competition is more from Dorney than anything, but with Cedar Fair running the park, competition is something Hershey is not going to have to worry about coming from that direction... dt
  10. ^Someone used to make them, as I used to see them at various ice cream places in PA. They were damn tasty. Glad to see Snyder's doing them now. On a totally unrelated topic, I want a Bumper Boat to drive around the grocery store. dt
  11. There were likely more people in that video than the number that ever actually visited HRP. dt
  12. Any and all shark related items. dt
  13. You cannot make up stuff this funny. Someone really should have been following these people with a video camera when this started. It would be the greatest reality show ever. dt
  14. Sounds like a personal massager. Post Of The Day. dt
  15. This is the greatest PTR in the history of history. So glad to see our epic trip to Wisconsin documented for the future. The tourism board really needs to get the word out about all of these attractions, as they are very entertaining, and certainly more fun than picking up prostitutes in the Dells. I was endlessly fascinated that people in the WWOVL were queued up for hours to watch some guy handle his stick. I guess people in Wisconsin are easily entertained... dt
  16. This would have been the greatest thing ever. Someone steal this idea. I think a lot of the Facebook complaining is not because of the name, but because the name that was "leaked" was not used, thereby denying enthusiasses the opportunity to gloat over how they were right about the name on their forums that are read by like three other people. Because remember everything is about being "right" about things these days. And I'm sure that internet petition will work, since they've been so successful in the past. Look at how well it worked for Big Bad Wolf. Oh wait... dt
  17. I really don't keep track of my count (but I'd guess it's either close to or over 1,000 by now), but some day I really have to sit down and figure out Ice Bat's count... dt
  18. ^The real Prowler would have come to BGT and kicked all of their assses if they even thought about that. THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE! dt
  19. Elissa needs to be on one of these shows. Mainly because she would kill all the annoying housewives by the end of the first episode. RATINGS GOLD MINE. dt
  20. City Museum is easily the most screwed up yet awesome place I have ever seen. And Robb is right, pictures/videos don't really do it justice. It's really something you have to experience for yourself. There are so many random little things everywhere I'm sure you could visit multiple times and still find new stuff. I never even made it up to the roof (though since it was like 115 degrees outside, I wasn't in a particular hurry to get there!). City Museum is amazing, and I hope to visit again some day. dt
  21. This sucks. Muscle Park was AMAZING. So glad I got to visit it a couple of times. dt
  22. Not really. It was just "OK". If it was still operating today, no one would be talking about it except enthusiasses that never leave Ohio. You would think with all the people so upset over the status of this ride that they'd be showing their bile to the ones responsible: Cedar Fair. After all, they're the ones that shut the park down. But doing that might not get them ERT at Coastermania, so they'll all be quiet on that front. This whole situation reminds me of a bunch of kids sitting around and thinking they can run a theme park because they beat a RCT scenario. These two have clearly bitten off more than they can chew, and instead of stepping up, they're going to hide behind fake twitter accounts and cry that they're being "attacked". Again, my cats would do a better job, and they sleep for twenty hours a day. dt
