Wes, Not bad, but I don't think it's big enough. I'd go with this. dt -

Of all the updates you've ever done, this one might be my favorite. I had no idea this place even existed! Hey, the shark channel would have more than two sharks in it if I owned the place! And they'd get plenty to eat, since I'd combine it with a lazy river... dt -
Mitch Hawker 2010 poll
Meteornotes replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ballot submitted. Top ten didn't change much at all. I can't see anything breaking into the top five especially, unless another Intamin wooden coaster is built somewhere. Two fanboy favorites are WAY down the list, due to the horrible painful rides they delivered. Pain and coasters should not ever go together... dt -
^^Because people want a reason for rides like this or the Intamin wood coasters to not be able to challenge The Voyage in the coaster polls. Personally, I'm with Robb. If it kicks ass and doesn't realign your spine in the process, who cares how it's constructed? While it is obviously WAY too soon to even begin to know how a ride like this will hold up, it could be a way for parks that for whatever reason cannot/will not maintain their wood coasters to a rideable standard to offer non-bone shattering rides. Just my dumb opinion, as always... dt

^Why do something half-asssed when you can do it right? Why not make sure your spelling and grammar are correct on your Twitter and Facebook page? It's called being professional. Something that many, many people just do not get. I know I'm not going to spend money with a business that doesn't put forth a professional image. Sure, you can have fun (like on this site), but you can still put forth a professional image that shows you care about your product. Because, if you don't care about your product, why should I? This opinion brought to you by someone that has been involved in the entertainment and marketing business for over twenty years, so I know it will get no respect here... dt

Mitch Hawker 2010 poll
Meteornotes replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This needs to be tattooed onto the inside the eyelids of most people. I haven't done my ballot yet, but I rode Voyage for the first time this year, and didn't care for it. You can have speed and out of control without roughness to the point you can feel the bones in your body be re-arranged (see: Boulder Dash). People can like what they like, of course, but seriously, you cannot say this ride is delivering amazing rides, any more than you could claim that Ghostrider is running as well as it did when it opened. Not honestly, anyway. dt -
OK, I have been ill, but now that I'm better, it's time for another update. This one will be a little different, as it's a story with pictures. I hope it amuses. Anyway, here's DAVE & ICE BAT GO OUT INTO THE SNOWPOCALYPSE!!! We had not been out in days, due to the horrible snowpocalypse that had plagued us. But we were out of vital supplies We armed ourselves as best we could, to protect against the roving bands of yeti that were terrorizing our frost covered world We bundled ourselves up to best survive the cold With our first step outside, we knew our journey was going to be very dangerous After many miles we came upon this storage facility which contained a vehicle for us to use on our journey! But would it be able to take us across the ice-coated paths? Well, as it turns out, it wouldn't be a problem... And it looks like many other people were out for supplies as well! We found food to sustain us on our journey Ice Bat then demanded we get him some supplies from this location And we also decided that we needed some new entertainment since we had been trapped inside for so long With all of our supplies purchased, we would now have to begin our journey home But how long would our journey take us, given that the world is now a frozen plane of frigid existence? Hmm, not that long, actually. Would have been even faster if Baltimorons understood the concept of "acceleration" So we had all our valuable supplies, and had successfully survived our journey into the outside world. And what did we learn? Oh, how about STOP FREAKING OUT ABOUT SNOW, MARYLAND IDIOTS! IT SNOWS HERE EVERY YEAR, YOU SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH IT! DO YOU NEED TO BUY 87,000 GALLONS OF MILK? DO YOU NEED TO CLOSE SCHOOLS THREE DAYS BEFORE THE FIRST FLAKE FALLS? DO YOU NEED TO COWER INSIDE YOUR HOME? No, you don't. We're making a nation of babies because people cannot deal with even simple things. Grow up, America! Instead of freaking out, how about enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee? Or be like Ice Bat, and drink yourself into a coma! Either way, LEARN TO DEAL WITH NORMAL THINGS THAT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. Thus concludes our story. Hope it entertained. If you liked it, be sure to tell others and/or write a 5,000 word essay praising its genius. And remember, single women, Dave & Ice Bat are available for fine dining and conversation. Or nachos and shark movies. Whichever you prefer...

KAT IS TRYING TO SAVE HISTORY! HISTORY, I TELL YOU! SHE IS IMPORTANT TO ALL OF OHIO!!! Um, yeah, she's an idiot. All of these people are. But, as always, it's the American Way to NOT ever take any sort of responsibility for your actions! Another reason why sharks need to eat more people... dt -

But...but...but... Coastermania... I was hoping to meet up with a wily old vet for my first Cedar Point visit! (and his Ice Bat) Outside of TPR trips/events, I rarely go to parks. I don't have the spare time. I am on the NE trip this year, so if people want to see Ice Bat, that's the place to be! dt -

I love all the insane conspiracy theories that Kinzel sits around like a Bond villain, plotting the destruction of enthusiass dreams in Ohio. Seriously, these amuse me to no end. And, like any good conspiracy theory, there's always at least one guy that claims to know "the inside story" and that "the truth will soon come out". Um, genius, the park closed years ago. I think it's OK if you let the "secrets" out. Oh wait, they're all delusions in your mind, brought upon by consuming too many bags of Dollar Store Cheese Curls while watching Beast brake run POVs? This explains everything. There's no conspiracy. It was a business decision. They bought that park with the intention of stripping it of the rides for cheap upgrades for the rest of their parks. Deal with it. I'd love to get a photo of Ice Bat in front of The Big Dipper while it's being knocked down. But that means I'd have to go to Ohio. And I don't think my vaccines have been updated lately... dt -

I don't feel sorry for these idiots. They dug their own graves. Two people with ZERO business sense cheered on by a forum full of people that would screw up making a bag of microwave popcorn, and somehow blame it on Cedar Fair. There are enough conspiracy theories on that site involving CF that you'd think they were involved in the JFK assassination, the Roswell incident, and faking the moon landing. All in the same day. Seriously, as someone that's been involved in actual business for many, many year, including many years in the entertainment industry, morons like this really irritate me. Buying a coaster and moving it is not a RCT scenario. It's something that would take a dedicated team of professionals and a lot of coordination. And money. Something that is greatly lacking in all involved. To not even have the sense to see how complicated this task would be might be even more annoying. Newsflash, geniuses, you're not moving the coaster with some tools from Home Depot and mom's minivan. And of course, anyone with a brain that dared to comment on this master plan was immediately attacked as NOT SUPPORTINGS THE COASTARZ COMMUNITEEE. Um, yeah. Never, ever listen to anyone that might know something. That's the best way to go through life. You made some sort of half-assed launched inverted woodie in No Limits, you're clearly qualified to move and rebuild a coaster. You're barely qualified to post your "amazing ideas" on the internet, actually. While your plans to crush Cedar Fair might be impressive around the junior high lunch room nerd table, they're so not going to impress anyone with an ounce of brain power. Though it will be comedy gold. Seriously, this whole thing has made me laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh for months. Even without the awesomeness of Prince Desmond, this would be one of the funniest things of the year. Thanks, Kat & Kiwi and your gaggle of self-righteous coaster enthusiasses for providing us with hours and hours of entertainment with your horrible incompetence. I hope someone in this group tries to buy Hard Rock Park now. I need the lulz... dt
