  1. Hmm, that's tough. Are there any specific days that it's more likely to be open? I'm looking at going on a Tuesday.
  2. I've had a few close calls but I've managed to keep the broken bone credits at 0.
  3. I have a quick question about Everest. I'm sure this has probably been adressed in the official Everest thread, but I haven't been looking in that thread because of spoilers, pic, etc. Is Everest open now or is it testing or what? Is it only open for DVC members right now? I'm asking because people at my high school are planning a senior skip day next week and since so many people have gotten rides on Everest, I was wondering how good my chances of getting a ride would be next week.
  4. That Krispy Kreme is about two minutes away from my High School, it's not a rare event for people to go there during first and second period.
  5. If I wasn't in a position to ride it soon I would definately be downloading the video ASAP, but since I live about 2 hours away from Disney it's just a matter of finding an open day or a senior skip day
  6. Coming soon- Stitch's mystery castle tour! But seriosly, I really wanted to do that attraction.
  7. I have refrained from watching the video or reading any spoilers. I've followed the ride's construction closely but I want my ride to be a surprise. All I know is that there is a small terrain section before the lift, the backwards section comes almost immediatly after the lift, and that there's a huge Yeti inside. I haven't even seen what the Yeti looks like, all I know is that you encounter him at least twice, once as a prjection and once as a huge animatronic. I have no clue what the layout is and how the story goes. So I guess I know more than the average Disney guest who is riding for the first time, but I still only know the basics compared to the people who have watched the POV. I want to keep the ride a surprise for me. It's sorta like ROTM, all I knew before going on that is that it was launched, had a backwards section, a scarab beetle section, and a part where the roof catches on fire; I think keeping myself relitively in the dark made the ride more exciting the first time.
  8. Good pics and captions, sub-average park. I can't wait for you to get to some better parks, then it should be really good. It's weird to see someone in Gainesville on a Theme Park site, I drive past that stadium pretty much every day.
  9. First of all I would like to say that you have an excellent design set up. When I got to your art work I was thinki9ng to myself "wait, did I miss something? I thought this guy came up with this himself, I didn't know this was a ride Disney actually planned". Seriosly, that's how proffessional your work loooked. I was always under the personal belief myself that Pride Rock should have been the center of Animal Kingdom instead of the Tree of Life, it's more or less the animal version of Cinderella Castle, so I always thought it would tie in the Disney theme with the animal theme pefectly. I remember the Lion King show at Magic Kingdom from when I was a little kid, it was where PhilharMagic is now, I still have something from the gift shop from that ride I believe. The only concern I have for your ride is that it isn't kid friendly enough. Although I would love to ride that, I feel that a Lion King thrill ride may run into marketing issues, since the average teen that comes to Disney with his.her family is looking for thrills, not the Lion King, and the average child who comes to Disney with his/her family is looking for the Lion King, not thrills. I think that if it was maybe a boat ride or perhaps a water coaster the audience could better identify with it. But as I said, I would LOVE to ride that, so you'd hear no complaints from me, just constructive criticism. I love to design rides myself, so I'm glad there are others out there with the same creative outlet.
  10. Wait, you just finished your first semester of High School and you're depressed about college? What was your first pick, Harvard? I didn't start thinking about colleges until my junior year after I took the SAT
  11. I just watched the last one and it was really good, thanks for posting it!
  12. I put "other" because I think Disneyland has gotten stale and is in need of a brand new attraction that hasn't been at any other park, and Nemo subs don't count because that's just a re-themed version of a pre-existing attraction
  13. My Desktop: Everest!
  14. Also, according to Amusement Business a new Intamin inverted coaster opened at a new theme park called "Phoenix Mountain's Happy Park". http://www.amusementbusiness.com/amusementbusiness/search/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001806256
  15. I think EPCOT is a fantastic park, and MGM is pretty strong too. AK needs a few more additions to be great, and MK needs some cleaning up, but we're way off topic as it is so I'm just going to leave it at that.
  16. Overall, I think that the cange is very positive, although there were two points that kinda bugged me. I think both of those are negative. I think they need to focus on smaller attractions as well, but some parks do need "Goliaths". For instance, SFFT needs a major coaster, while SFMM needs flats and smaller attractions. It all depends on the park, I think they need "Golaiths" a little less often and smaller rides more often. Selling of that much property really cripples the chain's ability to expand, especially when it comes to coasters.
  17. That's an interesting idea for a show. (insert joke about Intamin T-bars here). I wonder how many people they will be able to get that fit this situation. I'll be curious to see how this turns out.
  18. I think it would be impracticle to demolish a coaster like this. Like others have mentioned, there was a servey a while back that had a re-themed version of Flight of Fear. I think it's a big possibility that the MTV theme may come to PKD
  19. It's not that it isn't possible, but it's just not the right stats for EE. I wish EE had a 144 foot drop
  20. Yay! Hooray for me, I got a B in AP Lit for the Semester. We're reading Paradise Lost right now and I must admit that I'm not too fond of it.
  21. It can't simulate weightlessness, I never said it did. If you read my post you would know that I said it did a poor job of weightlessness. What I was asking is if it got below 1G, even if it did so very slightly.
  22. I think that if they had to sacrifice ground space they should have built up. I know that Florida has an arial law that parks can't build over 200 feet without putting a large beacon on the ride, which is why Dr. Doom and ToT are both 199 feet tall. I don't know about the restrictions in California, Paris, and Tokyo, but I think they should have made the other towers taller to try and make up for where they fall behind MGM's version. Does anyone know the heights of the other towers? Are they taller, shorter, or the same?
  23. That was the weak point of the ride to me. They didn;t do a very good job of simulating zero G's. Does the ride even go below 1 G or does it just stop spinning?
  24. OMG I just noticed that. 112 feet tall with a 144 foot drop?
