The quality of that gif is unreal. My eyes almost can't handle it. LOL, thank you. I had to edit it a bunch so it would fit within the forum's avatar size limits.

i thought i read the Discover contract ended? The park still has it listed on their website. how do you get to that link from the front page? looks like an old link. i did search and see two people say there was no entrance. i don't have a card so i don't look that way. i can't find anywhere on the site that has a discover ad anywhere now. www.doctorofcredit.com/six-flagsdiscover-not-renewing-partnership-2017-season/ I found it by Googling "Six Flags Magic Mountain Discover entrance". I usually arrive at the park in mid-afternoon, so I haven't seen the Discover entrance firsthand. It could just be an old link.

The New Revolution's loop at SFMM
-
Several older coasters would've gone to the scrapyard instead of receiving new trains and VR headsets. What if Cedar Fair had bought Magic Mountain?
-
SFMM does have a Discover entrance, which only operates as such for the first hour after the park opens. After that, it's a re-entry gate. I'm really not sure what to tell you about Revolution. I don't know how crowded the park gets on July weekdays, but during the past few weeks, it's been pretty empty. Revolution was a 30-minute wait, max. Normally, it's a 60-90-minute wait.

They could have improved the smoothness on their rides, like Vekoma did. What if Lightning Rod never broke down?

Both are former Six Flags parks, and both have SLCs called Mind Eraser. Kennywood and Knoebels -
southern california trips n' more!!

Nice report! X2 is interesting, in that you either love it or hate it. I think it's amazing, but I have met a few people who call it the worst ride in the park. -
You'd be surprised. As someone said above, the park is about a 30-minute drive from Palmdale, where a large percentage of the population talks like that. The 'cash me outside' girl is from the south, they speak with a southern accent in the Antelope Valley?? *confused face* But the "cash me outside" girl didn't really speak with a southern accent. It was more of a deliberate ghetto dialect.

I spent the latter part of Friday afternoon at the park. I posted earlier in the thread about IsItPacked's prediction that the park would be packed... well, it wasn't. The crowds weren't bad at all. The longest I waited for a ride was 20 minutes (for Lex Luthor and Goliath). Ride count: Goldrusher X 1 Lex Luthor X 1 Scream X 1 Twisted Colossus X 1 Goliath X 1 Viper X 2 Tatsu X 2 I took some pics, as well. (And I held my phone horizontally for all of them. ) Since Friday night was a grad night, the second lot was blocked off to make room for the buses, so I had to park in the third lot, even though there weren't many people there. Scream was broken down when I arrived. Some kind of work was being done on the MCBR. After about an hour, I saw empty trains running, and the ride re-opened by around 5:00 in the evening. TC's operations were excellent that day. The trains were perfectly synced when I rode it, both times around. A few buses were there during the day. Hurricane Harbor's slides testing for Saturday's opening. It's hard to believe these were built by the same company. Both are excellent rides, IMO. The new paint job at Hurricane Harbor. It's the same yellow being used on Riddler's supports. I can't say this for everywhere in the park, but the planters in Screampunk District are well-maintained. Tatsu was my last ride of the night. Somebody's phone flew out on the last turn into the station, and somebody's wallet was lying on the platform underneath the MCBR. How bow no? Revolution's loop and the fountain were constantly changing color. This was my favorite combination. The two Arrow cousins at night. All the coasters stopped for a break before grad night. Everything was still lit up, which made for some great pics. There are some times when I'm slightly jealous of my brother who works here, but this was not one of those times; he had to work grad night. I counted 60 buses while walking to the car, and there were more pulling into the lot. The grads entering in the park as I headed home. Good night!

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Tatsu On the last turn into the station, somebody's phone flew out of their pocket and shattered on the ground. -
Cool, one fewer person in front of me in line at Knott's! I would ride it if it wasn't for the painful shin guards.

How do pictures of screaming people not count as theming on a coaster called Scream? -

Maybe it's just me, but I don't like to watch POVs of coasters that I know I'm going to ride in the foreseeable future. It's like sneaking a peek at your presents a few days before Christmas. That said, my first rides on most of SFMM's coasters were at night during Fright Fest, when the park turns off most of the lights surrounding the track, so some of the coasters' layouts were a true mystery when I boarded the trains. X2 is a good example. I could see riders ascending the lift hill backward, but everything beyond that was lost in the darkness. I nearly shat my pants on the first drop.

Fortunately, no - just a few fender benders. Do you like Vekoma Boomerangs?
-
Boomerang: Coast to Coaster It comes off as a dad joke / poorly-executed pun. "Hair Raiser" is another odd name.
-
No. Are you visiting a park over the long weekend?
-
8/10, pretty funny.
