disturbing is what made it awesome. Think about it, if it was built brand new today, there'd probably be protests or something...

Your favorite coaster tunnel
ChrisFL replied to chavslayer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
someone mentioned Montu...it's got a quick underground section but I wouldn't call it a tunnel. Kumba has a tunnel but it's not long enough to be really dark. -
How many people come with you two to amusement parks?
ChrisFL replied to Thrillrider15's topic in Ask Alvey
I looked at the stickied posts and didn't see anything... Anyway, if everything goes as well as the plan so far, I'll definitely be in that area May 4-7, can't wait. I'll be in SoCal for a personal business trip. -

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
ChrisFL replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You're right, the cars don't have screens. I was there at the end of October and there were no screens in the cars. I was sure at one time there was one big monitor/tv on the front of the cars, but I went a long time ago -
Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

IIRC they already had video screens, but now they'll be hi-res flat screens. I think the ride is great. -
the only way that would be possible is if it went 30 feet underground

Mission: Space at Epcot
ChrisFL replied to jumbach's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Screamscape.com is reporting a ride like that for KSC, I guess we'll have to wait and find out. It would be funny if it turned out better than M:S -
Mission: Space at Epcot
ChrisFL replied to jumbach's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't like it, rode it a few years ago, I thought the launch was actually a bit too intense and the rest of it was too short. The storyline is, well, um, there isn't really one. The graphics are ok, but not incredible. The interactive, wait, non-interactivity of it is a bit of a waste, and really it's a big, fast gravitron with some tvs and joysticks. YES, I know they spent a ton of money on the technology, but it's the same result to me, Seeing 2 people losing their lunch in those nicely placed trash cans outside of the ride didn't help my opinion of it either. -
we need a satellite view: I've highlighted the 3 areas that are often rumored for the new attraction. The lines arent' totally accurate, but they give a general idea of the area. Im looking at the old Trike encounter and I really don't think there's as much space as many people seem to think, so the other 2 areas seem more likely for a new attraction.

Whats the most involving coaster area?
ChrisFL replied to ChrisFL's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
But you can't see the tracks or the coaster go by in the Mummy que (or at least not in the Florida version) Im referring to what others said, where you're practically in the middle of the tracks or can go all through the coaster layout. -
When I recently visited BGT and finally rode Sheikra, I was amazed at how much you are engulfed by the coaster, just walking around the area. Its practically all around you even though really it's a short ride. I think its really cool when you have an area where you can get a good view of most of the coaster and you can easily see all the elements. What other coasters have areas like this?

What is Your Favorite Themed Ride
ChrisFL replied to America Sings Freak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Non-Disney rides: Spiderman MIB Journey to Atlantis (Orlando) Coaster: Alpengeist Dueling Dragons Disney rides: #1 by far....Tower of Terror (Orlando). No other Disney ride gives me such a complete and eerie feeling as walking outside, through the staleness of the outside of the Hollywood Tower Hotel, then seeing an absolutely perfect "frozen moment in time" feel to it, then with them bringing back Rod Serling from the dead and then there's the RIDE itself...it's perfect in every way. second I'll say Splash Mountain -

Am I the only one who is disturbed by this?
ChrisFL replied to COOOOLkid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's called desperation, as Disney is desperate to prove they can do a good 3d animation without Pixar -
Thats cool, I guess...ok maybe not

Class of '96, Dr. Phillips High School, the only high school in the world where you can throw rocks at Jurassic Park in IOA from your classroom (of course, I couldn't do that back when I graduated)
