  1. We had our first visit to SFA last Friday and it wasn't only the worst Six Flags park I've ever been to (And yes, I include Astroworld in that) it was probably the worst park I've ever been to. There are 3 coasters that are fun (S:ROS, Batwing, Jokers Jinx) but that's it. And even with those rides they were not maintained in the least. The train on S:ROS had rust inside, the trains were dented, etc. The park itself was run down, not maintained. You could tell there were portions of the park that hadn't even been touched in years. There was some arcade near Wild One and you could tell there was signage on the building that was removed probably years ago and was never touched. I had heard how bad the park was but I couldn't imagine it was THAT bad.
  2. I thought Ghoster Coaster was the best woodie at KD.
  3. I don't get all the hate for The Dark Knight coasters. I've ridden the ones at SFGAm and SFGAdv and enjoyed both. The themeing in the queues and the pre-show are really cool. Sure it's just a "mouse in a box" but that doesn't mean they aren't fun.
  4. We all know that the Boomerang will end up at the Six Flags Dumping Ground known as Six Flags America.
  5. I really enjoyed the Sky Screamer at SFGADv, much more than the two WindSeekers I've ridden.
  6. So this happened during TPR Quest ... I think it's most certainly a tie and calls for a rematch at WCB next year. Cliff has already agreed, what do you say Robb?
  7. ^ Skyrush is amazing. If it had the same restraints as I305 it may be #1.
  8. ^ The first ride when we hit the mid-course brake I was kind of "WTF", but honestly I was ok with it. It made it possible to re-ride IMO. I also had absolutely no issues with the restraints at all.
  9. I was implying that I'd ship all 16 coasters at SFMM to KD for Intimidator.
  10. After riding Verbolten over the weekend I think this is exactly the kind of ride the park needs. I'd even say to rip out Pony Express and have the show building be backstage behind Bigfoot Rapids. That ride is thrilling, has great themeing and would be a great thing for that park. Of course, I wouldn't complain if they got something similar to I305 either. As for the "Charm" of Knott's, they are bringing it back. Whether or not this new approach of beautifying the park pays off in the end, only time will tell. But all indications are that the park is enjoying a very nice summer attendance wise despite not really adding anything new this year.
  11. I certainly hope not. There are only 1 or 2 stand-up's that are even moderately rideable. I thought Green Lantern at SFGADv was absolutely terrible and is probably the worst coaster in that park. In fact, I'm sure of it.
  12. I think the family style is a great idea for the CDR. In fact, I'm hearing some really awesome things about the new food offerings at the park. Hoping to try them out soon.
  13. Such an amazing two days. I305 is without a doubt my new #1 coaster and of course a TPR event never fails to disappoint. Highlights of Saturday: - I305 ERT - Being shocked at how much I enjoyed Volcano - Tying Cliff in the Beer chugging challenge during TPR Quest - I305 Night ERT - Hanging out with awesome TPR peeps - TPR Takeover of the Bobsleds - Ending I305 ERT with a front row ride into complete darkness - Ride Operator Robb during Dominator ERT - Did I mention I305? Highlights of Sunday: - Verbolten!!! (Better than Radiator Springs Racers) - The AMAZING BGW staff, not just during ERT but all day. Just awesome - My first B&M Vertical Drop coaster - The amazing backstage tour. So glad we did it!!! - Night rides on Verbolten thanks to bonus Quick Queue!!! - More awesome TPR peeps - Not just 1 skyride but 3!!!! And of course, no TPR event would be the same without the awesome TPR staff. Thank you so much for yet another awesome Bash!!!
  14. Great photo's. Not sure if I had the chance to meet you but if not ... hey ... what's up!!! I know a lot of people were complaining about Greying out on I305, I honestly didn't get any of that. In fact, I got tunnel vision more inside the show building of Verbolten than I305. Go figure. (Must be a darkness thing). I love this picture ... I'm still shocked (and proud) that I tied Cliff.
  15. Just got back from our East Coast trip and there are probably 10 coasters that we rode this week that I'd trade every single coaster at SFMM to get. Most of the people in our group had never traveled to ride coasters and were amazed at the sheer quality of rides like Intimidator 305, SkyRush, Storm Runner, El Toro, Phoenix, Lightning Racer, etc.
  16. Since I'm not sure I'll be able to update this week: Tomorrow: SFGAdv Wednesday: Hersheypark Thursday: Knoebels Friday: Dorney Saturday: KD Sunday: BGW Monday: SFA?
  17. ^ We will be at the park tomorrow too. My 2nd time at the park everybody else in my groups first. I'd really suggest the FlashPass. Nitro is good, I really liked Medusa (Bizarro) when I was there. Batman is always good. Looking forward to finally riding El Toro. If you aren't doing El Toro first I'd guess Kingda Ka should be your first stop? The park veterans should be able to answer that better than me.
  18. ^ We'll be at the park next Wednesday, hopefully it won't be as busy. We will for sure be hitting Fahrenheit first though. With a full day in the park I'm not imagining any issues getting on everything though.
  19. Amazing stuff. Thanks so much for sharing!!!
  20. I'm going with ghost of former disgruntled employee. Scary.
  21. He's movin' on Up. RIP Sherman Hemsley. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/24/sherman-hemsley-dead-dies-the-jeffersons_n_1699590.html
  22. I'm getting totally stoked. A week from now we'll be at SFGADV for our first park day of our trip.
