^^^ The first "solid" date I ever heard for Cars Land was indeed June 15th. They never had a specific date other than "Spring". And June 15th is still Spring last I checked. ^^ That. While it's disappointing, none of us are really surprised. We were at SFHH on Sunday and they weren't testing at all other than pulling the cars up/down the first 1/4 of the tower. I know I'll feel more comfortable riding the ride with the additional testing in place other than 3 days of testing. So I had to switch my day off from tomorrow to next Friday. So now I get a 3 day weekend next week (with a day of Wednesday for the 4th). Fine with me. Gregg "Maybe I should just take the 5th off and make it a 5 day weekend " C.

You guys may want to hold off. Hearing that the ride is being delayed. Media Day is now the 6th of July, which probably means the ride will be opening on July 7th.

I know a few people who are planning on making a "mini trip" out of this, me included. We are doing Hersheypark, Knoebels, Dorney, SFGAdv during the week before heading down the KD on Friday. Flying into PHI on the 30th, out of DCA on the 6th.

Are you people serious about the "height" of where it drops from? The old Superman wouldn't even reach where the red section is. The new S:EFK get's up to there and will sometimes hit the "brakes" up there. Where this drops from is right about where the breaks are. EVERY TIME. And it drops lower than where S:EFK curves up.

Great stuff Chad. I have been wanting to visit IB for a long time, it's sad to hear that it's taking a turn for the worse. I still hope to get there one day. Hoping my work travels will take me to IN before the end of the season actually. I'll make sure I skip the taco's. Having been born and raised in CA, I have had my share of amazing taco's, and quite a few bad ones. Nothing worse than somebody trying to convince somebody else what is/isn't good.

The drop goes down more from where the video shows. It's still a long freaking drop. It was never going to go to the very top of the tower.

This thing is going to have such low capacity.

I have to admit, this one has me a bit nervous. Can't wait for Thursday!!!

That was totally awesome. The water coaster looks amazing. Hope we start to see some of these at other parks.

Well, technically seats were filled, but most trains would go out with 4, maybe 5 people. Most people didn't sit 2 to a seat as the ride was designed to. So yes, while the old trains "technically" had more seats, you'd rarely get 6 to a train, and even more rarely 8 to a train. If you are getting 6 people on every train instead of the average of 5 then your capacity is better.

From everything I've heard from the park this week, they are still planning on opening on the 30th, with Media Day on Thursday. Anybody know if the ride actually "dropped" yesterday, or were they just doing a "pull through"? Also, the "basket" is a good idea for maintenance, but I can't imagine they are going to keep it there for operation? It just looks off. There has to be some way they can lower it right?

This looks like a totally epic trip. I really like the look of these smaller trips. Hopefully soon!!

I totally LOVED the Jimmy Neutron attraction. The Chicken Dance part was off the charts funny IMO. Can't wait to hopefully try this next year when we go to FL.

I've watched maybe 5 minutes of the Finals ... total. It's really like the first 46 minutes of any basketball game don't matter. They drag out the last 2 minutes so much it's just ridiculous.

Cool pics. I'm ok with the Daily Planet. It's obvious they were going for the News Stand feel and they pulled that off. It's not like they were trying to actually build the building. But, now that I think about it, imagine the tower of Superman being the Daily Planet building and the track of Superman being fully enclosed.

DCA's been the better food park since it opened IMO. Or maybe that's just the booze talking.

Awesome stuff Erik. LOVE the Santa Barbara Zoo. It's just big enough. I actually never noticed that about the shape of the Zoo. Love Sambo's as well. We generally stop there for Breakfast on our way up to Wine Country just north of Santa Barbara. Never done the Botanical Gardens, will have to check those out. They look awesome.

On another subject, regarding AP Renewals: Received the renewal notice for our daughters pass that expires July 23rd. Went on to the DL site fully expecting it to be at the new increased rate but it was actually at the old rate, and with the $20 discount to boot. So if you are up for renewal soon I'd suggest doing it ASAP!! From what I'm hearing if you renew your pass prior to 7/1 you can get the old rate. But obviously if you aren't renewing within the window (is it 35 days?) then your renewal date will have to be before August 5th or so.
