  1. ^ After my last ride on Scream, I'd kind of have to agree with this.
  2. ^ Not "could be" ... is. No way Riddlers is 2 hours and X2 and Tatsu are walk on's.
  3. Was trying to figure out why the park would have been so busy yesterday, think I just figured it out. In looking at the coupon book: "Season Pass Holder Free Friend on Select Sundays - Valid Only: 1/29, 2/26, 3/25, 4/8, 7/22, 9/23, 11/25, 12/16" That July date seems like an odd date when you look at the other dates on the list. A date that I'm sure won't be there next year.
  4. Obviously, you've never ridden Verbolten. (But it seems to be better now that it was in June.) I'll answer this question in 2 weeks.
  5. ^ Ditto. Finally went to check out the new stuff today. Buena Vista Street: Wow. I was looking forward to this as much, if not more than CarsLand. Didn't dissapoint at all. May be my favorite "entry" to any Disney US park other than EPCOT now (haven't done the overseas parks). And the only reason I like EPCOT's better is because I know what's hiding behind SSE ... my favorite park. CarsLand: It's Radiator Springs. Period. They did a really amazing job on this, it's quirky, it's fun. Radiator Springs Racers: We did the whole "Get there early, get a FP, do Stand-By". Waited about an hour at opening had FP's for 11:00am. The ride is fun. I was a bit disappointed that some of the effects already weren't working. This is their new premiere E-Ticket and has been open less than a month. It's been a few days now. Needs to be fixed. The Dark Ride portion, it was cute, thought it was longer. The Tractors tipping would have been nice. The Race ... honestly, didn't really feel like a Race. All of us felt this way. Compared to TT it's just slow. Maybe if I had never ridden TT I'd feel different? In fact, when we went to use our FP's later the ride was 101 and we didn't feel like waiting around to re-ride. Can't remember this ever happening on any new ride ... EVER. Maters Junkyard Jamboree: Wow ... what a fun ride. Not the most technologically advanced, not high-brow (at all) and really it isn't much different than a Whip, a Tilt A Whirl or a Scrambler (maybe all of those combined) but there is "something" about the ride that makes it amazing. I'm not a fan of Mater in the movies, but I'm a fan of Mater the ride. The songs, the Spanish speil, the queue, it's just "Mater" and it's all fun. Luigi's: We didn't do this, didn't look too exciting and I wasn't going to wait 75 minutes for it. I honestly see this one going the way of the Flying Saucers. Ghiradelli: Not too many people talk about this ... not sure why. Free Chocolate!!!
  6. The first weekend of FF will also be much less busy than the weekends closer to Halloween.
  7. ^ During FF you are much better off on a Friday/Sunday than Saturday.
  8. ^ I don't think we'll ever see as big of a "Theme Park Fail" as Rocket Rods. At least I hope not.
  9. My, my--aren't we dramatic? I hardly think this will be "devastating" for the park, or overshadow the "buzz" for Verbolten. Speak for yourself, I'm going to cancel my entire East Coast Trip, this was the only thing I was wanting to ride!!!! Yep, they've definitely proven themselves. Sure not all these incidents are reflective of the company...but when was the last time Intamin opened a major drop tower? Incidents like these, no matter whether they are caused by the company or not, don't exactly have people clamoring to buy them. You are talking about 4 incidents in the span of 28 years. One of them is on a 1st generation ride. The most damning one is the SFKK incident obviously.
  10. ^ 1) Not sure, but an email to Robb or Elissa couldn't hurt. 2) TPR Water Challenge is exactly what it sounds like. You ride a coaster with a cup of water. Whoever comes back with the most water wins. Most people don't come back with a whole lot of water in their cup. I've done two Water Challenges and both were amazingly fun. Hopefully there is one coming for ECB.
  11. ^ Not this weekend, taking a break from our weekly SFHH trip to head to DCA and finally check out CarsLand.
  12. I think a Falling Skies makeover would be great. I don't see it happening though. Sad too, it's a great show and would be far less expensive than the Terminator license. In fact, seeing as they were just paid to advertise it they could probably get it pretty cheap.
  13. Saying that they are just holding onto this for another park is just wishful thinking.
  14. We ask for flats... we get more flats. At least it is something that sticks with their Xtreme matra since this is usually a huge draw at fairs. This is not a Flat, it's an upcharge. NOT the same thing. (if this is actually what it is)
  15. Is the Thrill Shot site big enough for the Slingshot though? Wonder if they are finally ripping out Thomas Town for this. I'll admit I've always wanted to ride one of these, but not at SFMM. My honest guess is this is going where Deja Vu was or maybe the old Metro station area.
  16. Not sure if we ever got confirmation on the $17 parking ... but here you go.
  17. I'm going with SkyScreamer as well. No need for it to be the tallest of anything. It's different enough from Windseeker. Most GP don't have any knowledge of the one at SFDK. No need for it to be too tall as it does get windy up at the park. Plus, the park is in DESPERATE need of some flat rides. Remember, the park doesn't make rides for "us", they make them for the other 99% of people. If parts are already starting to arrive, it's entirely possible it could be open this year, especially if they are putting it in Thrill shots spot. They've already got the space for it. I haven't seen the SkyScreamer installations but I'd imagine the ride pad is essentially the same size as that. Can anybody confirm?
  18. I don't count that as a new credit. It's the same exact ride, just in a new location, only counts once.
  19. I'd say X2 and Tatsu as well, but on second though, a single rider line on Tatsu could make those operations even worse.
  20. Tickets purchased for both days. No turning back now!!!
  21. I've gone to SFMM/SFHH at least 15 times this year so far. Parking was WELL worth it.
  22. Most likely to Knott's on Sunday to upgrade our passes prior to our ECB Coaster Trip.
  23. This ride looks great!!! Hope to get out to HK sometime to ride. If I end up going back to the Philippines for work soon a side trip to HK may be in order this time.
  24. Looks like Matt is bringing over some of his Gap people, also wondering if he worked with Daniel Hanrahan when he was the head of Disney Cruise Line. Just hope this doesn't mean Johnny Rocket's won't be replaced by Denny's.
  25. I just can't imagine why they'd close it in the middle of Summer if they didn't have some kind of idea what is going there/it getting a massive refurb that is going to take more than a general off season.
