  1. ^In the announcement thingy it seems like it may be an upcharge attraction. The capacity wouldn't be changed that much if they did that.
  2. The Woodstock Express clones are really nice! The airtime in the back on the first drop, and especially the second drop is actually really awesome. The rest of the ride is basically pointless, but not bad. I stayed for a second lap on the Carowinds one without getting up, and yes, it was mostly little kids in the train. I'm willing to throw away dignity if you give me airtime!
  3. I'm going to take a step further and explain what additions my chain would add to its parks in the first 3 years. The goal of the company would be to take parks that are/used to be classic old-school parks and let them live up to their potential. Kind of like how Palace Entertainment does a great job at letting their parks keep their history. The Great Escape - This park already did a great job of avoiding the wrath of Six Flags and it actually has a great atmosphere, so this one's easy. I'd have S&S or Vekoma completely replace the track on Steamin' Demon. Next I would add a Eurofighter, and finally a small, twisty GCI. During these years I'd also slowly do some mantainence on the amazing Comet. Future projects could include a few more thrill rides and eventually a dark ride. Six Flags New England - Oh boy, now this is a park that pisses me off with its wasted potential. First of all, operations and staff would be the most important part since for years this has been an issue, and it is destroying the park's reputation. So I would make sure the staff is highly trained and the goal would be to put the customers first. Next I would do a complete renovation of a lot of the scenery and theming. This entire year would be nothing but projects like that. Next I would tear down Goliath (even though I'm one of the only ones who actually likes it) and put in a compact Gravity Group coaster. Future plans could be more flat rides, longer programs on the ones they already have, and completely transforming Houdini. Six Flags America - Completely fix the horrible mess that is Gotham City along with some other minor improvements, get a log flume, replace Mind Eraser with an Intamin Impulse coaster. They also need way more flat rides, and to keep up the good maintanence on the wooden coasters Those are the Six Flags parks. I'll figure out the Cedar Fair parks I'd buy. Those should be easy.
  4. ^^By "okay" they probably mean that they're not burning right at this moment. Lots of people said it was burned completely down.
  5. The Funplex 15 minutes Diggerland 15 minutes Clementon Park 20 minutes Six Flags Great Adventure 50 minutes Every NJ Boardwalk Park Anywhere from 1-1.5 hours Dorney Park 1.5 hours Luna Park 1.5 hours Adventureland (NY) 2.5 hours HersheyPark 2.5 hours !!!!!Kn0ebel$!!!!! 3 hours Quassy 3 hours Lake Compounce 3 hours It's impossible to list all the parks I haven't been to or list the tiny FECs within 3 hours.
  6. Yesterday I had one of my best trips to the park yet! There were no lines, even though there were quite a few people there. The operations were amazing, and the other workers were very social and friendly. On Batman and Skull mountain they were running two trains on both, and sometimes you wouldn't even stop at the final brake run since they finished in the station so early! They're just as good as they were the past few weeks. The lights were amazing as always, and we enjoyed the campfires and WAFFLE CART! Rides: Batman: The Ride x 4 - Back row, right seat. My little sister and I rode this four times without getting up! It ran so well, even if it's not the way it is during the rest of the year. Awesome ride! Nitro x 4 - Middle row once, back row three more times without getting off. It's been a while since I rode it at night, and wow! It's incredibly dark. I got my brother on this for his first time since he could do Steel Force, Talon, Great Bear, and a lot of wooden coasters and family coasters, but he hated it because he thought it was too scary. Skull Mountain x 4 - Once again, I never left the station during the re-rides. I was on the back row twice and second-to-last row twice. Swashbuckler Joker - Green side, only got one or two flips but a lot of the time my seat was hanging upside-down. So if any morons haven't gone to this yet, then GO!!!!! The park completely transforms with the amazing scenery and campfire smells. We stayed from 5 to 8 and got on plenty of rides and lots of food. I actually just remembered that we got the roasted almonds to bring them home and I tried them just now, and they're also amazing. So if freezing, pitch-black Nitro isn't enough to convince anyone to go, the limited-time foods is also enough of a reason to go.
  7. I'll put Phantom's Revenge as the best Arrow, as long as it can also be considered the best Morgan coaster.
  8. Obviously that can't happen, but if it did, I would be so pissed. New track and trains wouldn't be bad or anything, but I would be completely opposed to new elements. It's one of my favorite steel coasters the way it is now.
  9. ^Now that is a much better source! This email wasn't brought up yet. I'm not sure if they wanted you to post that though, since there's a confidentiality note that's half cut-off in the screenshot saying that it was only for you. Whoops, too late now!
  10. ^I do agree that they could easily replace the triple-up with a double-up during the re-tracking and it seems likely that they will do that. However, there have been no good sources saying that Alan Schilke has anything to do with it. It was just one email from one person from ACE who has gotten information wrong, potentially on purpose, in the past. And even then, while I'm almost positive that there will be re-tracking, that's not even 100% confirmed.
  11. So just to clarify and figure out all these rumors: True: Re-tracking wooden coasters. Maybe: New trains. False: Alan Schilke BS.
  12. I ride Superman at SFGAd all the time, and it's pretty fun. I've been on batwing at SFA this season, and I actually liked it even more. So for the most part I'm a fan of flying coasters. But Soarin' Eagle at Luna Park on the other hand...TEAR THAT THING TO THE GROUND!!!!! so those are my thoughts on the 3 types of flying coasters.
  13. I think Anaconda is a great ride. It has a great setting, really fun drop and nice inversions. It's pretty rough around the edges and throws you around a little bit, but it's not to the point where I find it painful, so that just adds to the character and appeal to me. The only part where I actually got headbanging is the awkward transition between the two turns after the brake run, before the corkscrews. I was able to ride it 3 times in a row with no problems.
  14. When they say there's going to be an "Immelman Turn," I'm not sure if they're for some reason talking about the cutback on the 320 models that's kind-of-sort-of an inversion, or an actual immelman. The length is also different from the 320 models, so I think this might actually be custom.
  15. I know...look at all these absolutely horrible coasters!
  16. The airtime hill at 1:30! This ride looks so amazing. Also, this is a great example of how No Limits can be better than animations in some cases. If you use No Limits 2 and make sure the model isn't made by a five-year-old, it actually gives you a pretty detailed look at what the coaster will be like, especially since speed changes and acceleration are often awkward in animations.
  17. I really like how they show all of the g-forces at every for their hyper coaster so that you get a much better idea for how the ride will feel. It looks like there's some well-sustained forces and there's tons of airtime moments. And there's many types. Really insane long moments of ejector air, short rapid-fire moments of airtime, and plenty of floaty moments as well to balance it out. It really seems like they'd be able to make a great hyper! I wish more manufacturers gave more detailed data on g-forces like Vekoma did with this.
  18. I think would be fine if people talked about other new Vekoma concepts here as well. I don't want to end up following tons of different threads just to find out about each new ride Vekoma makes.
  19. ^I pretty much avoid most stand-up coasters because they make my legs very uncomfortable. Lots of people don't like their roughness (even though I thought Green Lantern wasn't that rough). I'd assume that stand-up coasters would age quickly because the trains would be heavier. But I don't know for sure, since on GL all I could focus on was my legs.
  20. ^While millennium flyer trains in my opinion wouldn't be enough for me to want to see the PTC trains leave, timberliners would be another story! But what source did you get the confirmation from? I can't find any announcements or anything online.
  21. ^^Cool to hear they're trying to save Wildcat. Both times I went I either didn't have time to ride it or it was closed. I'll try to at least get the credit if it turns out alright. I'm not sure what to think about the IAAPA millennium flyer picture. I actually like the trains currently on Boulder Dash, because the PTC trains give you a nice amount of space to come up out of your seat, despite being individual lab bars.
  22. Just got the passes to stop by when we go to Canobie Lake Park and take some LC/Quassy day-trips! Great deal. Can't wait to try a lap bars-only Sky Rocket II and get some more rides on Boulder Dash.
  23. These trains are incredible! I like the bear car more, because it doesn't obstruct the view that much (even though neither of them seem too intrusive) and I've never seen a lead car done in a style like that, especially at that detail. I was a bit skeptical of this coaster at first because I'm not a huge fan of the layout, and it's probably not going to run like a Gravity Group family coaster or anything crazy like that. But after seeing some of the themed buildings, tunnels, now trains, etc., it seems like the theming and terrain will make it way more fun. I can't wait to see it finished!
