  1. Busch Gardens Williamsburg with Alpengeist and Apollo's Chariot is the king of this for me, being the only park I've done to have two coasters that I would give a perfect score to. Also: Kennywood - Phantom's Revenge + Thunderbolt Knoebels - Phoenix + Twister Six Flags Great Adventure - El Toro + Nitro Cedar Point - Maverick + Magnum XL 200 Six Flags New England - Superman: The Ride + Wicked Cyclone Kings Dominion - Intimidator 305 + Grizzly Carowinds - Fury 325 + Afterburn Hersheypark - Storm Runner + Skyrush
  2. We went to the park just for 3 hours or so for the final time this season today. My younger brother came with us, and even though he's 14, he is still to scared of a lot of rides, but we actually managed to force him onto some big rides! I did everything I wanted to do that was open. On the website it seemed like Thunder Creek Mountain was supposed to be open until dark, but it's closed for the season and already drained out. Ride list: Enterprise - One of the more thrilling rides my brother went on. Dominator Red Dominator Green Whip - It ran great today. It has more laterals than other whips I noticed. Monster Possessed Stinger Revolution - My brother did this one, too. Wimpiest frisbee ever though. Steel Force - Greggy's first hyper coaster! Thunderhawk Demon Drop Apollo Sea Dragon - Turns out it's one of the good ships. Hydra Talon x 5 - My brother agreed to ride this masterpiece and he loved it!
  3. I prefer the front on Dominator and Volcano. Anaconda is pretty consistent in all of the rows, but I like the front since the one turn a little more than halfway through that's the only seriously rough spot is more comfortable in the front. I think I slightly prefer I305 in the back, and Grizzly is DEFINITELY a ride you have to do in the back row!
  4. The park itself gets pretty packed then, but the lines won't be too bad.
  5. I had a great day at the park! First we got Mack's of course, then we went on some rides from 2-4. This Oktoberfest thing is really cool. The live german music was fun, and the food was great. I was with my dad and my friend, and we split up a pumpkin funnel cake and an apple caramel funnel cake. They were absolutely incredible!!! The pumpkin one tasted like a deep-fried pumpkin muffin, and the apple one was covered in caramel, and it had these amazing fresh crunchy apple slices. I hope this becomes an annual thing. The workers were really nice, and the slow operations didn't matter since there were no lines. But it was more crowded than I expected, and some workers said it was packed yesterday. So this was a short trip, but it was awesome. The perfect weather also made it great. Rides: Great White x 4 - front twice, back twice - It was running great today! Great lateral forces like always, and the airtime hills near the end aren't extreme or anything, but you really come out of your seat every time! And it's still just as smooth as it was this Spring and this summer. Screamin' Swing Sea Serpent - back row - One of the smoothest rides on it yet. Since it's consistently comfortable in every row, the back will be my default now since the backwards loop is so forceful in the back. Riptide
  6. Seaside is mostly stupid, but Casino Pier itself is actually pretty nice. I went last spring, and even though it's very small, they fit in some really good flat rides, it had a good atmosphere, everything seemed kept up well. Again, it's not much (since by next year they'll only have one non-kiddie coaster), but it's one of my more highly-ranked boardwalk parks.
  7. I haven't been on Coaster obviously since I haven't been to Canada, but a lot of people put it on the same level as Phoenix. And they're similar in style, with mostly strong airtime hills where the restraints really allow you to fly up. People say that Coaster isn't smooth like Phoenix, but Coaster seems a bit longer.
  8. One time we stopped at Keansburg on the way home from somewhere else. It was early this season, but the park was scheduled to be open. We tried to call the park to confirm that it was open, but nobody was on the phone. When we got there, the entire park was closed except for a few games and the bumper cars. None of the workers knew why everything was closed. (And by the way, that gravitron was in the same condition as it is now). Also there was a scheduled ACE event scheduled there a few months after my epic fail "visit," but for some reason the park bailed out a few weeks before, so it was cancelled. Someone should save their Chance chaos and tear that place down to make room for more strip clubs and gas stations for all I care. I'd take Lamemont or Conneaut Lame Park over Keansburg any day, let alone tons of really good boardwalk parks, one of which is the best park in the state! (Morey's)
  9. The obvious choice would definitely be Cedar Point. They have Top Thrill Dragster which you want to try, they have a drop tower, they have Raptor, Valravn, Rougarou and Gatekeeper (great selection of B&Ms), Maverick and Magnum XL 200 will blow your mind, and Millennium Force is overrated but still great. Another park with amazing B&M coasters is Busch Gardens Williamsburg or Busch Gardens Tampa. I would personally choose Williamsburg, since Kings Dominion is close by. But then again, Tampa is near Orlando, but that will be overpriced and more expensive. Another option would be Pennsylvania. If you want to experience the best parts of classic American culture, Knoebels is the way to go. It's actually my favorite park, and Knoebels, Hershey, and Dorney Park are all 1 1/2 hours or so apart from each other. Great Adventure has great coasters, but it's not the best when it comes to getting a full experience. I would narrow it down to Cedar Point, Pennsylvania parks, Florida parks and the Virginia parks. It kind of depends on what you want the most. Looking at a lot of videos of these parks and seeing their full ride collection on their websites will definitely help a lot. Good luck with your trip! Edit: The best times generally for any park would be around June, and going on weekdays to any park is the best option.
  10. The reason I hate Green Lantern is that the riding position is awkward, and it hurts my legs. The first drop and loop are great, but after that it's too painful. It's a bit rough too, but not nearly as bad as people say it is. It seems like one of the better stand-ups, but that's not saying much.
  11. I was able to snap the Lake Compounce flyers really well. But then again, I've reached the point where I'm able to get strong snapping every time the flyer swings back up on the Knoebels flyer, and I can now get a little bit of a snap on a few of the better Larson flyers, so if you can do that then snapping on Lake Compounce's flyers are easy. But if you're capable of snapping the Carowinds flyers by getting decent snaps done within a short ride duration, then you could probably do well with Lake Compounce's.
  12. I'm going for morning ERT with a friend, then probably leaving for a bit since I'm so close to the park then re-entering for the last few hours before the epic El Toro madness.
  13. Even though SFGAd obviously has the better coaster collection by far, Morey's crushes it in literally every other category including water rides, dark rides and especially flat rides. it's the best park in the state if you want a better overall experience because of the food, staff, atmosphere, etc.
  14. This weekend my family took a trip to Hershey. We stayed at the Hershey Lodge for a night, and on the first day we went to Hershey Gardens (really nice attraction), and also spent some time at Chocolate World (I didn't go on the new version of the dark ride since it was too crowded). My dad and I have season passes, but the rest of the family just used tickets to get the preview night on Sunday. The park was packed, but the operations were pretty terrible despite the coasters running multiple trains. The stacking was a bit too ridiculous at times. Ironically, Fahrenheit's line moved the fastest! Today we were in the park for longer, got early entry, and the operations were faster, however the park wasn't as crowded as I expected. We stayed on the first night from 8-10, and 9-1 on the second day. Here's the combined ride list for both days: Coal Cracker x 3 - Just like always, this ride was great. It's easily the most fast-paced log flume I've been on, and it slams into the turns. The interaction with Great Bear and SooperDooperLooper was great, the drop is good, and the airtime hill that makes you skip across the water is awesome. Best flume ever! Flying Falcon - It's a very tame and kind of pointless ride, but it's cool to look at and I rode it when I was little. RIP Lightning Racer x 5 - front on both, back on both, middle on lightning - My brother finally got on it after riding it once years ago and never riding it again. We got some awesome night rides on it, as well as a mini marathon in the morning. The Whip - It's still easily the weakest whip ever, but it's still really fun. Storm Runner x 3 - back row twice, front row - This coaster is amazing, especially at night! Still my favorite coaster in the park, even with Skyrush. I've praised the soft restraints before, but these are the best OTSRs ever. Fahrenheit - back row - The drop is even better in the back. It's still kind of forceless in the middle, but the drop, norwegian loop and airtime hill at the end are excellent. Skyrush x 2 - front, back rows - It's Skyrush!!!!! SooperDooperLooper x 2 - front, second-to-last rows - The loop is really strong. The rest of the ride is really nice, but if they removed the brake run in the middle, it would be outstanding. Comet - second-to-last row - Brings back great memories. It's very tame, but there's some mild floater air and decent laterals that keep it entertaining for adults. Great Bear - I can't believe I got my brother to ride this! It's not as great in the middle, but we didn't feel like waiting. So this was an excellent weekend to end the summer. The park was great like always, and it was a less fast-paced coaster-heavy trip.
  15. It's not as horrible as people say it is, but that part is definitely rough. And since the coaster kind of beats you up, the rougher triple-up makes it a little less re-rideable.
  16. Now an RMC Racer wouldn't be that necessary, but I'd be okay with that.
  17. Today I had the best visit to the park so far! This time we brought some of our non-enthusiast friends, and they're now convinced that Knoebels is the best park ever. This time we tried some more foods. I finally had the amazing perogies, and they're even better than I expected. We also tried Cesari's, which is great, and of course we got the ice cream waffle sandwiches. The park was pretty crowded, but I didn't wait for more than 15 minutes for everything. Flying Turns was the only long unavoidable line, so I skipped that one. The workers were friendly, and the operations on the log flume and coasters were absolutely incredible! Even with the airgates on Phoenix, some of the dispatches were 20 seconds, but every one was less than a minute. Here's the ride list: Flyer - I've improved my snapping skills over the season, and I got a very consistent ride! At full speed, I snapped every single time the flyer went back up. Looper - Pretty good ride. I couldn't do a full loop, but I was hanging upside down for long periods of time. It's worth riding once, but it's nothing that special, especially by Knoebels flat ride standards. Power Surge Downdraft Whip - This is the best ride I've had on this whip. It's much stronger than I remember. It's a beautiful vintage ride that's kept up really well! Satellite - Awesome! This is definitely one of the top five flat rides here. Bumper Cars - The steering is a bit difficult because it's so old, but oh my god! The crashes here are awesome. They actually tilt when you bump hard. The cars on it also look super cool. Giant Flume - This one soaks you on the smaller first drop, but the rest isn't that wet. It has a great location and tunnel, and it's a lot of fun, even though it's a little too short in my opinion. Super Round-Up - The best round-up, aside from the ridiculous carnival ones. It tilts really far, and the ride is extremely long. Black Diamond Phoenix x 5 - back row three times, front, middle Twister x 3 - second-to-last row, back row, middle Impulse Another amazing trip to the best park ever!
  18. ^^That is one of the most awful rumors I've heard, and that's saying a lot. I know it's harsh, but that's what it is. Thunderbolt is Kennywood's most well-maintained and most thrilling wooden coaster, and probably the signature attraction for the entire family to ride. And an Iron Horse treatment on Thunderbolt could be the first time where the original coaster ends up being better than the RMC coaster. It would really harm Kennywood's reputation of preserving classic rides and wooden coasters, too. ^A ground-up RMC coaster would be a more realistic option. It seems a bit large for this kind of park, but it seems like the park has been planning something important with other rumors (still not great rumors) and some land expansions a few years ago.
  19. Wait I assumed that he did that when he was 13 or something!!!!! ridewarriorklansman once again shocks us all.
