The new flat rides and kids area seems the most likely, since they really need flat rides. I think a repainting of Wild One would be possible, since Six Flags America does take surprisingly good care of their woodies. A re-tracking would be a little bit less likely, since it's already somewhat smooth and it really only needs some new paint. I really hope they don't give Roar an RMC treatment, even though it would be a lot better. I like how the park has two really good wooden coasters, unlike most other Six Flags parks. And they just did a lot of work on Roar, and it's running well and very smoothly in most places. And I can see them re-tracking the rest over the next 2-3 seasons. They never did that stuff with Roar (now Joker) at Discovery Kingdom. Roar is my second-favorite ride in the park now, and I don't think they would just RMC the thing after spending all this money to make it great again.

Alright, so I'll ride Nighthawk, and give Hurler and their wild mouse a quick ride if they don't have lines. I'd ride Vortex if I got absolutely everything done and I really feel like being a credit whore, since I don't really do stand-ups. -

^I just said in my last post that I understand that I won't have to annoy the operators or be a dick in real life. And if you want to stay bitter that a teenager thought your mediocre joke was stupid, go ahead, I really don't care anymore. So since we've been spamming the thread with boring topics and cheap insults, let's talk about the actual rides. When I visit the park I'm planning on going to on Fury 325, Intimidator, Afterburn, Carolina Cobra, Carolina Cyclone, Carolina Goldrusher, Wind Seeker, Drop Tower, Scream Weaver, Woodstock Gliders, Woodstock Express, and the new Plants vs. Zombies thing. Are there any other good non-coaster rides I should try? And I'd like to hear people's opinions on Nighthawk, Vortex and Hurler, since I've heard that a lot of people don't like them. And as for any of the other coasters, I'd get on them if there was no line or if I did everything I actually wanted to do first. -
The fact that there is no stop at the top just gives you that tiny extra airtime boost that really lets you feel like the ride is really crashing down! So halfway through the tower, your adrenaline kicks in and panic-mode ensues. Then you just SPLAT at the bottom at the last second. Even on the small portable models, the brakes are just late enough to make you freak out a little!

^Once again, it disappoints me at how this park could be great if there were better operations. You really need it to be empty, but it is possible to have a very good experience. When I went on back-to-back days last year, one day was insanely stormy, empty and awesome, but the next was crowded and the rides kept closing because of a storm miles away Glad you had a great trip, though!

^Looks like someone needs to learn how to accept opposing opinions without spewing immature insults. Yes, I understand that the seat-assigner is just doing their job, and I now know that not all of them are going to be dicks, only a select few. Thanks for all of your kind suggestions. It's still a terrible policy, though. Just saying... -
^ That's funny! It reminds me of the people who freak out on rides with little-to-no restraints like Phoenix of Jack Rabbit!

^Most stand-ups are either horrific, boring and/or rough. I promised myself that Green Lantern, my first stand-up, that it would also be my last once I got off the ride, except for two exceptions. Those would be Riddler's Revenge and Georgia Scorcher, because most people say that they're not as painful and their layouts look good.

I've ridden the same 3 as you, well I rode it as Chang, but of those 3 the only discomfort I ever expirenced was slight force on the back of my legs on Chang, and honestly I think it had to do more with the length of the ride, as it's duration is longer than both Vortex and Scorcher. I think that's my main problem with it. I hated the leg pain and it was very awkward for a lot of the ride. But the first drop, loop and dive loop were really great! Then after that the ride started to get worse and worse until it just ruined the whole ride. And I'm pretty tolerant of pain on rides. If the ride ended in about 20 seconds it would be fine, but that would make for a lame and uninspired layout.

If they did a 3-part ultra tower, one could be themed to Kisses, one themed to Hershey Bars, then one to Reese's. And those could be the "chocolates" on each side. The wooden coaster in the background may be supposed to be Wildcat, since a lot of people want it removed, lack of popularity and the fact that it's in Midway America, which is located on a hill. If they removed Wildcat, I think that would be a lot better than removing the Kissing Tower. Because while I don't personally care about either ride being removed, at least Kissing Tower doesn't suck and it's a more important attraction.

Sorry, it seems like there is a bit of a misunderstanding. If I decide to spend time and money to get to a park 10 hours away, I honestly do not feel guilty for "annoying" an employee who is strict enough to lessen a guest's experience over a rule that doesn't have any purpose. If the operator would just let you choose a row if you ask, that's fine. But in my opinion, an operator who constantly refuses to let the paying customers of a park choose their own row is being the @$$hole in that case, and I just believe that they should be treated as such. But I do see your point at how my previous comment wasn't thought-out well. -

^That's good to hear. Usually the apps are kind of pointless. I'm going to Carowinds on August 1st and 2nd. If I want to choose a row and they don't let me, what do I do if they still refuse after I ask? I would like someone to do a social experiment of sorts, where they try to ignore, ask repeatedly after being told "no", or debate the seat-assigners and try to manage to pick your seat on every ride. It's probably stupid, but I think that's a cool idea. -
Moreys Piers Discussion Thread

I went to Surfside Pier and Adventure Pier today and had an awesome time. We didn't bother with Mariner's since there wasn't anything we were really desperate to ride there, and I go to Morey's Piers all year long. The park was off to a rough start earlier this year with attractions having maintenance issues and terrible staff, but everything went very well today. Cygnus X-1 was down for 20 minutes or so, but it opened quickly. The staff was really great and nice, and you could tell they were having fun. And the operations were pretty quick, and they were working very hard. They were also helpful. The boardwalk and piers were pretty crowded, but there were absolutely no lines. That may have been due to the great workers! So they are definitely not Six Flags-ish anymore. We didn't get food actually at Morey's, but we got the incredible orangeade. We were riding things from about 5-7, but I got on quite a few rides. Zoom Phloom: I enjoyed this ride even more than the first time because it was pretty hot. It's a really scenic and unique log flume. AtmosFEAR: Awesome as always! I went on a seat facing the ocean, and that was really exciting. It had different audio that I didn't notice before. It's still pretty cool. Dante's Dungeon: I just rode this while Cygnus was down, since I've never been on it before. It was longer and better than I was expecting, and it's just a really fun so-bad-it's-good cheesy old-school dark ride. Nothing too special, but good. Rock N' Roll: Tame, but pretty fun. It: I wasn't too fat to fit on the ride, which is strange, since I'm pretty much the same weight as last time and I got on very easily with no problems, and it was an outside seat like last time. It's really a great ride with a long ride cycle! Cygnus X-1: Obviously better at night with all the lights, but it's a good Gravitron and it isn't overly long. Ultra-Smooth and Extra Fast Great White x 2 - Front row, 2nd-to-last row: My brother who doesn't like rides finally rode this and he loves it! The ride is so smooth and awesome. Again, it was totally fine before, but now it's REALLY something special! It's easily in the top 3 coasters in the state behind El Toro and Nitro. We really can't wait to get midnight ERT on it this August! So yeah, this trip was so much better than the last one, and the staff was really excellent with very good operations. Morey's Piers is going very strong, and it's an awesome place to go in the summer, and everyone must go there for the Great White. It's such a classic! -

I know it seems insane, but the Impulse trains have some of the most comfortable restraints on any coaster for me. It obviously has to be tight and have the ankle restraints, but it seems like they went with the best they could get. -
More proof of Iron Hurler. Okay seriously, are you trolling? Yes. I'm trying to get you angry. You seem riled up that Canada's Wonderland isn't getting anything this year. It seems like you're riled up that Kings Dominion probably won't get an RMC. And also Canada's Wonderland got a really awesome-looking ride this year, are you trying to say they aren't getting anything in 2017?

Must-rides: El Toro, Nitro, Bizarro, Batman: The Ride, The Joker, Kingda Ka, Superman: Ultimate Flight (yes I said it), Runaway Mine Train and Skull Mountain (the two awesome family coasters with unexpected epic ejector airtime moments), Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom, Safari Off-Road Adventure. Rides to do with a short line: Swashbuckler, El Diablo, Sky Screamer, Twister, The Dark Knight, Log Flume, Houdini, any other family rides and credit whore coasters (except for Green Lantern). Rides to skip: Green Lantern. For the partial day, I would just see what has the lowest crowds and ride those rides. Then they won't be a priority the next morning. I would recommend going to The Joker first, then Superman, then Kingda Ka/Zumanjaro, then El Toro, then Bizarro and the Safari. After these rides the wait times will start to get a lot longer, but we're almost done with the major rides. After this you should go to Skull Mountain, Nitro and Batman: The Ride. Then just wander around and do whatever has a short line. You can skip whatever you did the day before, re-ride them or do other less major rides instead if you want.
