I think what he means is that the fast transition into the inversion is harsh enough to throw you out of your seat (and also gives some great laterals.) After that though, it would be traditional hang-time while you're upside down. -

^Yeah, the whip and hang-time on the 0g roll is insane! -

^Wildcat has problems all the time. I actually never got to ride it since on my first visit it broke down a few times and on my second visit it was down the whole day. -
So today I took a quick visit just to ride Joker for the first time. I knew that it was BAFF day, and I knew the park would be packed, so I was only planning to take a really short trip. We got there at opening, but the security line was moving extremely slowly. And then the season pass entrance was INCREDIBLY SLOW! It took about a full minute to get one single person through, and I'm not even exaggerating. So we didn't actually get into the park until 11. The operations were extremely slow for everything I saw. And I mean at least 3 minutes for one train dispatch at the fastest. But since we kept the visit short and simple, we had a good time. Also, DO NOT GET THE COKE FREESTYLE AT THE SKY BAR. Everything we got from there tasted like seltzer with a little bit of Tylenol and a hint of bleach. So here's the ride list: Joker - Green Side - I waited about an hour, and managed to save 15 minutes or so by doing the single rider line. I really like that whole area of the park being nice and open. It's nice. And the actual coaster was awesome! It was extremely aggressive, and it throws you around A LOT! I flipped about 4 or 5 times violently, and rocked back and forth a lot too. The track is also smooth, as long as you try to brace yourself for the flipping moments. I even got a good pop of airtime going into the brakes since our seats were vertical like normal at that part! So yeah, this ride is a great experience. I'd give it a Decent-Strong 8/10, and it's my 5th favorite coaster in the park, right in front of Kingda Ka and behind Batman: The Ride. Swashbuckler - There was a stupid annoying kid who kept getting yelled at, but it was a nice ride and I always love round-ups. Skull Mountain - Back Row - Fun ride as always with an incredible, airtime-filled drop! So even though the operations were HORRIBLE, we still had a nice time. We left around 1, so we were in the actual park for about 2 hours. I know it was crowded, but that's no excuse for the terrible staff. They should expect large crowds on bring-a-friend-free days. And all of the operators and staff were moving slowly and had a bad attitude. Slow operations are always a thing you have to deal with at this park. I know this from visiting constantly. But it's NEVER been this bad. Even earlier this season the operations were faster. And last season on days almost as crowded as this one the lines were still shorter and faster. The operations here made Six Flags America and Six Flags New England seem like Knoebels and Cedar Point. Seriously, there was not even ONE single redeeming worker who was moving quickly whatsoever. It really almost seemed like the workers were trying to move slowly on purpose. I hope they get better next time.

Those are my top 3 wooden coasters, all of them are amazing in their own way. Number 4 on that list for me would be Comet at Great Escape. That thing is a lost treasure, always gets overlooked because it is at Great Escape lol. Holy crap The Great Escape Comet is my #4 wooden coaster too! -

^That's why it's tough for me to decide if I like wooden coasters or steel coasters better. I've been on more steel coasters, there's more types, and I prefer a lot of the major steel coasters I've been on over most of the wooden ones. But my top 3 coasters of all time are El Toro, Boulder Dash, and Phoenix. -
The mixed reactions to Arrow looping coasters are pretty strange. Another example is that a lot of people think Loch Ness Monster is just okay or somewhat decent, but I thought it was outstanding! I guess people tend to expect different things before riding Arrow coasters. For example, people expecting an Arrow to be unbearable, then get blown away when it isn't that rough. And a lot of people are used to modern steel coasters, so they are disappointed when they ride an old-school coaster that's a little rough around the edges.

^It has the old-school style of ejector airtime, where you really come out of your seat. The restraints are the normal PTC ones, which already let you have a lot of room, but for some reason the restraints on Boulder Dash are a bit looser. -
They're just in a tough spot because of the competition. They're pretty much the Six Flags America of Cedar Fair. Better than Great Escape I guess. Do you think it would be considered a stronger park if it wasn't surrounded by quality parks? Actually The Great Escape is one of the better Six Flags parks I've been to because of the scenery and theming. And I agree that Dorney Park is kind of like Six Flags America of Cedar Fair, but it works a lot better since their re-located flat rides are good and I really like Stinger. Six Flags America gets wild mice, stand-up coasters, and stupid things like that.

There's this one small tree branch that is close enough for people to hit, and it was still there as of last season! As for the Whipping sign, that's always been there. Nobody ever pays attention to that. I could definitely see where whipping the sails would be a problem, especially with little kids riding them and the canvas sails not being as durable as the fiberglass or wood ones. The Knoebels Flyers will snap even if you don't touch the sail handle, so I wouldn't worry about that. -
They don't need a Maverick clone, since Storm Runner is kind of like a precursor to the Intamin blitz coasters so it's actually a pretty important coaster! Flying Falcon would be missed, but I'd take a drop tower over a Condor any day. Seriously, the dropping "I", the fact that they just added Laff Trakk, the obvious need for a new flat ride...I would be really disappointed if this new addition wasn't a drop tower. I know this wouldn't be possible, but a smaller Larson/ARM drop tower attached to Storm Runner's top hat would be really interesting.

A big-ish wooden coaster would round out their collection so well; I've always felt like that's the biggest thing missing. Hercules was garbage and Thunderhawk just doesn't do it for me. I live roughly 90 minutes from Dorney and I haven't had any desire to go since Hydra opened. I love Talon, but I'd rather go to Hershey and ride Great Bear (criminally underrated IMO) and then have multiple other awesome rides at my disposal. Hopefully they do something soon that makes me rethink my stance, although I admit I'm hard to please as I'm pretty much a "roller coasters only" guy. I can see why a lot of enthusiasts overlook Dorney Park. The flat ride collection is BY FAR the biggest draw of the park for me, and their log flume is a great water ride as well. Between Demon Drop, Dominator Red and Dominator Green they pretty much have three drop rides. Plus they have Meteor, The Whip, Enterprise, Revolution, and Monster and Apollo are top-notch family flat rides.

Honestly it's such a small difference between the right for me that it's tough to tell. But I will choose the back row of Nitro any day. Every time I try back-to-back rides in the front, then back, I find the floater air in the back to be much stronger. The front is the next best option, but the first drop and drop after the mid-course brake run are really awesome in the back.

Here are my favorite seats on these coasters: El Toro, Nitro, Sull Mountain, Superman: Back row, right seat Bizarro, Kingda Ka: Front row, left seat Batman, Mine Train: Front row, right seat The top flat rides other than Zumanjaro are Twister, Sky Screamer, Swashbuckler and El Diablo. But Those four are very common and are in many parks, so they're not really must-do attractions. Houdini is fun, I've heard good things about the log flume and sky ride, and the safari is so cool.

I think what they need is a larger family coaster (other than Steel Force). This is why a Gravity Group compact coaster or a White Lightning/Invader-style GCI would be perfect. If a kid was trying to get into coasters, they'd ride the kiddie coaster, then their wild mouse, then Thunderhawk, which is a good in-between family/thrill coaster. But the next step up would either be a looping coaster, a tall/launched/90-degree coaster, and Steel Force is a good mine train, but it's one of the taller ones out there. I think a family/thrill coaster a little more intense than Thunderhawk would really round out the lineup well. Plus, that would add a 100% airtime-focused coaster the park needs.

Yeah, that's why I'm okay with it. They've basically made a name for themselves in restoring and maintaining classic attractions to modern standards. Until they do VR Phoenix!!!!! -

Even with air gates, the operations will still be MUCH faster than pretty much any other park. But I hope they will eventually learn to open the air gates when people stand up, not when they leave the station.
