  1. One idea that I had thought of recently in regards to a higher capacity Vekoma Boomerang coaster is to have a dual switch/transfer track in the station. So, while one train is making it's rounds on the track, another train could be off to the side on a transfer track loading so that way a Vekoma Boomerang could have two trains. So, once the first train is done, and the second train is full, the transfer track that the second train is on would slide over and connect to the main track. In order to really increase hourly capacity, there would still be one queue line but, in order to access both transfer tracks, there would be paths that go overhead the station platform in order to access both transfer tracks. Below is a diagram of my idea. This would be a great idea for large parks that want to install a Vekoma Boomerang coaster but are concerned about the time visitors will be waiting in order to ride even though many park’s Boomerangs aren’t that popular.
  2. On the bright side you have an excuse to travel to other amusement parks. I have one week to go until I go back to college.
  3. Strange you would post that, it seems similar to behemoth/leviathan posts. I think this is a solid addition to the park, the waterpark needs less outdated slides and the "airwolf" is an amaizing suprise. I'm not to sure on how reliable this ride would be in a park, from what I can remember from the traveling version is that it was down a lot. I am quite sure that Canada's Wonderland wouldn't get a ride that has high downtime. From what I've heard elsewhere, this Mondial Inferno may be the New Comer that traveled in France as it has been for sale for years on Mondial's website. If it is the former New Comer, it should be completely like new as it has gone through a major refurbishment by Mondial themselves. So, it really shouldn't give any trouble at all and should perform like a new ride even though it is really about 20 (or more) years old. But, the Inferno will give a different experience of a ride compared to a Top Scan as the Inferno rocks side to side and the Top Scan's cars rock back and forth. I should point out that the Mondial Inferno is a predecessor of the Mondial Top Scan but, that doesn't really matter as they're two different rides that offer two different but, highly thrilling experiences.
  4. Magic Springs and Crystal Falls
  5. According to Dave Phillips, Canada's Wonderland's Vice President of Marketing and Sales, he says that no ride is being removed from the park to make way for Soaring Timbers. Here's a link to his response to a user on Twitter who commented on his post about the new additions for 2017.
  6. That's correct. Below is a photo of the Top Scan when it had originally arrived at Carowinds. Photo Credit: Carowinds Connection
  7. Thanks for sharing these great photos of fun fairs in Switzerland! I enjoy seeing photos of older classics such as the Mack Calypso and Huss Swing Around still traveling. You just don't see these rides traveling the midways here in North America anymore.
  8. I agree. But, I don't think they would get rid of their newly installed Flying Eagles for these even though the older flyers are better.
  9. Yes, Canada's Wonderland does have an amazing collection of flat rides. Last years additions of Skyhawk and Flying Eagles were to be reported around $6 million in total. Based on the name, Soaring Timbers (Mondial Inferno) could possibly go in the White Water Canyon section of the park. But, it may be going elsewhere within the park. We'll just have to wait and see!
  10. No, you're perfectly safe and that would only reduce the hourly capacity of the coaster. But, they did have redundant belts on Vortex at Canada's Wonderland for a few years but, they were removed after the 2011 season which was a great thing!
  11. My guess is that they'll be adding Soaring Timbers to the White Water Canyon section of the park given it's name. But, they may place it elsewhere within the park. We'll just have to wait and see!
  12. When I put things in quotations marks, it's my way of being sarcastic. Sorry for any confusions. Also, I was looking at the situation from a general park goers perspective as many people who have really no idea as to what the real reason is speculate this. Anyways, B&M hypers are amazing rides with or without seat belts. So, I'm done if you are!
  13. Those are two amazing additions to Canada's Wonderland! I had a strong feeling that we would be seeing an addition of a drop slide complex. But, the Soaring Timbers was a surprise! I am glad to see that they are adding another amazing Mondial ride! A Mondial Inferno appears to be an amazing ride! By the sounds of it, Soaring Timbers will be added to White Water Canyon section of the park. This may lead to the removal of Timberwolf Falls but, I am not too sure as of right now. I can't wait to see where it will be placed! I'm already looking forward to next year! Well done once again Canada's Wonderland!
  14. I was never concerned about the restraints opening on any B&M coaster. But, there is some rattling on Diamondback. I never said it was completely smooth. I was just saying it could be one of the reasons as to why they added the seat belts to their hyper coasters for the 2014 season. But, I do understand that the seat belts were added to please the insurance company.
  15. ????? Well, on Behemoth there is a significant amount of rattling caused which could "potentially" cause a restraint to come open. But, that is highly unlikely but, I believe that is one of the main reasons as to why Cedar Fair added seat belts to their B&M hyper coasters. I found Diamondback to be slightly smoother than Behemoth so I was quite surprised to see seat belts on it. But, I guess it can be kind of rough at times.
  16. I guess the seat belts were added due to the rattling that the trains produce and also to make some guests feel safer. But, since the seat belts don't tighten as they ratchet and can stretch throughout the ride after being locked I don't see a huge point in them. But, since it doesn't affect the riding experience, I don't mind them.
  17. This. I can't think of many rides that don't have seatbelts at Cedar Fair parks. That's very true. The only rides in the Cedar Fair chain that don't have seat belts and redundant belts are swinging ships, shoot the chute rides, log flumes, flying coasters, and carousels. CF added seatbelts to the Carousel at GL in 2004. Does anyone know if they are still on the Carousel now that it's located at WOF? EDIT: CF also added seatbelts to Grizzly Run in 2004/5. Yes but, I don't think there are any seat belts on any carousels anymore. But yes, they do have seat belts on river rapids rides. But, that is something a lot of parks have done over the years which aren't in the Cedar Fair chain as well. Another ride I know that doesn't have seat belts is Wonder Mountain's Guardian. It's a dark ride 4-D ineractive coaster which features a roller coaster hill and a 30 foot drop track at the finale.
  18. This. I can't think of many rides that don't have seatbelts at Cedar Fair parks. That's very true. The only rides in the Cedar Fair chain that don't have seat belts and redundant belts are swinging ships, shoot the chute rides, log flumes, flying coasters, and carousels.
  19. Flight Deck, Behemoth, Stunt Coaster, The Fly, Leviathan, and maybe Guardian and Skyhawk. They take your picture to show your scores on those rides though I'm not sure if you can buy them. Flight Deck got rid of on-ride photos a couple of years ago. Backlot Stunt Coaster had finally gotten rid of the on-ride photos last year and the on-ride photo building was removed during the 2015/2016 off-season. Behemoth, Ghoster Coaster, Leviathan, The Fly, and Taxi Jam have on-ride photos available for purchase. Wonder Mountain's Guardian and Skyhawk do have on-ride photos, although they are not available for purchase as they're only momentarily featured on a TV at the exit.
  20. Well, in the same article, it was stated that Cedar Fair was going to Japan next. So, maybe they found a Troika in Japan? Also, maybe the Huss Break Dance will be added to Carowinds in 2018. We'll just have to wait and see! I've enjoyed the announcements so far! ***JAPAN****?????? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RELOCATE THIS!!!!!! (Can't embed?... Idk why) I doubt that would happen, but it would be cool if Cedar Fair took one of the Ultra Twisters in Japan and moved it to one of the CF parks. Speaking of Ultra Twister, I heard that Premier Rides has Togo's Pipeline design. Can anyone confirm this? Yes, Premier Rides did have Togo's Pipeline coaster design as it was featured on their previous website. But, once they had update their website earlier this year, this design is no longer available. Canadianparkfan, in order to embed a video from YouTube, use the YouTube embed function but then delete the "s" off of https. The video should become embedded if you do that. A pipeline coaster would be truly amazing as they have tight heartline rolls and steep lift hills which would be a huge intensity factor. But, since no company manufacturers them anymore, I don't see one coming to Canada's Wonderland or any other park.
  21. Falcons Flight will be located where Le Carousel is, and Mustang Runner will be where all the markings are. It was specifically stated to go where the old kids bumper cars were. Also, do we know where these rides came from other than just Europe? Well, the Condor and the Troika that Worlds of Fun is installing are from the Netherlands. The Troika that Carowinds is installing is from Scotland. Also, the Top Scan, the Musik Express, and the Wave Swinger that went to Carowinds I believe came from the Netherlands as well. The only ride they found in Germany according to this article was the Break Dance ride that was speculated to be opening up at Carowinds, although it wasn’t in the plans released yesterday. The Troika that Dorney Park is receiving may have also came from Europe but, as the same article mentions Cedar Fair looking in Japan next, they may have found that Troika in Japan.
  22. Well, sometimes the conceptual imagery can be slightly incorrect when it comes to colours. Each arm may sport one colour considering there are three arms and three colours on the sign. Despite of what colour Kaleidoscope will be, it's nice to see that Dorney Park is receiving a great ride opposed to removing more. Mike Fehnel seems to be doing wonders for Dorney Park which is great to see!

  24. I'd love for Dorney to get a condor and shove it straight up Hershey's a**. I didn't know a Condor was up for grabs here. I love those. ... but my money's on sh*tty bumper cars. Yeah, even though I never said that, a condor would have been nice but, Worlds of Fun will be receiving one. At least Dorney Park has received one really good ride, that being Kaleidoscope.
  25. Here's a photo of Skyhawk's signage. I'll try to get a photo of Flying Eagle's signage when I'm at Canada's Wonderland again in a couple of weeks.
