  1. Yeah, I believe there are no Zamperla Mixer rides operating anymore. I wonder how long that ride can stay upside down like that?
  2. My home park is Canada's Wonderland so, now that it's closed for the season, I'll be watching many on-ride POVs in the months to come of coasters at Canada's Wonderland along with coasters at any other park. Also, the off-season gives me time to plan as to which park(s) I want to visit next year. Six months of summer doesn't last long whatsoever. But, the six months of Winter will. Anyways, hopefully this Winter is a good one with not too much snow!
  3. Well Fraroc, here's what Time Warp has been looking like since the beginning of the 2013 season with it's dark blue supports and yellow track. It's much more pleasing to the eyes. Photo taken by blog.daum.net/joaunni Photo taken by Veganostomy
  4. Thanks Chipcoaster for these eerie photos of the nearly abandoned Baojia Amusement Park. It's quite creepy to see that some parks actually operate like this! As for the flat ride covering, I'd have to say it was some kind of Musik Express ride at one point or possibly a bumper car ride as you had suggested.
  5. Well I think Time Warp (Tomb Raider: The Ride from 2004-2007) at Canada's Wonderland had a bad colour scheme as it was blue on the lower half of the supports and teal or sea-foam green on the upper part of the supports while the track being a bright yellow and the cars being orange. Since the beginning of the 2013 season, Time Warp has sported a dark yellow track with dark blue supports and still has the orange cars, which are okay as too much yellow or blue is a bad thing. I like the current colour scheme much better than the previous one. Below is a photo of Time Warp with its original colour scheme. Photo © Iain Hendry 2004 via rcdb.com
  6. Well, from experience of riding coasters (as all of us here have), the steeper the curve of a hill is, the more of a "pop" of airtime you will receive. Also, the steepness of the descending drop also can be a factor for how much airtime the riders will experience. The less steep a hill is, the less airtime you'll experience. Also, double-down hills can produce airtime as well. I hope this helps.
  7. My favorite Arrow coasters are Vortex at Canada's Wonderland because it's a suspended swinging coaster and Vortex at Kings Island because I really enjoyed it's layout and inversions. Other Arrow coasters I've been on are Dragon Fire at Canada's Wonderland, Adventure Express at Kings Island, and The Bat (AKA Flight Deck) at Kings Island. So, I've only been on a total of five Arrow Coasters so far, but I am a huge fan of them so I hope to ride more in the future.
  8. Line jumping is so annoying! It happens quite a bit during the mid-season at Canada's Wonderland. I have alerted staff members and ride operators at times but, it hardly gets resolved even though there are signs (within the queue) stating that line jumping is not permitted as ejection from the park will take place. The only rare time it has been resolved is when the line for White Water Canyon is quite long and someone (or a group of people) think it's okay to "beat the line" by pushing in somewhere further up the queue. Luckily for them, a staff member walking through the exit path had noticed them "sneak in" and demanded that they get to the back of the line. I would like to mention that I think line jumping at Canada's Wonderland was down this year compared to last year. I just think that line jumping for any reason is highly intolerable and unacceptable as it slows down the wait time for the rest of the people waiting in line.
  9. The last coaster I rode is Dragon Fire at Canada's Wonderland on October 10th, 2015. Photo taken by John Brooks on Saturday, September 26, 2015.
  10. My next park will either be Cedar Point or Kentucky Kingdom in June 2016. I try to visit parks that are below the 9 hour driving range at this moment as I enjoy driving places. So far I have visited Kings Island (July 2014), Dorney Park (June 2015) and my home park Canada's Wonderland I have been visiting since 2009. So, if anyone has any suggestions for which parks I could/ should visit, that would be greatly appreciated!
  11. Hello, I am John and have been reading these forums for quite a while and watching TPR's videos on YouTube, so, I've decided to join. My home park (and my favourite park) is Canada's Wonderland as I visit there about every two weeks during the season. I have also been to two US amusement parks which are Kings Island (July 2014) and Dorney Park (June 2015). I plan on travelling to more parks throughout Canada and the US in the years to come, hopefully expanding to Europe and eventually Asia. Along with enjoying amusement parks, I also enjoy reading and learning the history that is attached to them. I also enjoy searching for rides that have long gone from various parks, that is why I started up Amusement Ride Locator on Facebook earlier this year. I also really enjoy roller coasters and thrill rides especially roller coasters that were manufactured by Arrow Dynamics. That is all for now. I hope to have a wonderful time here on TPR!
  12. Zamperla didn't manufacturer Green Scream, Zierer did. But yes, it does seem that's what really long trains were designed for!
  13. I cannot enjoy the Zamperla Volare (Time Warp, Canada's Wonderland), Vekoma SLC (Flight Deck, Canada's Wonderland) or Wild Beast (Canada's Wonderland). I also cannot enjoy any Fabbri Kamikaze 2 ride as the restraints aren't tight and it feels like you're going to fall out every time the ride goes upside down as the ride is floor-less.
