  1. Helps that there aren't any Boomerangs nearby. The nearest one is at SFSTL, with the next closest ones being at Hershey and WoF. The end of April removal would allow a renovation before/during a potential move The Bat at Canada's Wonderland and Boomerang at Darien Lake would like a word with you. But yes, Michigan's Adventure would be a good home for Knott's Berry Farm's Boomerang as there's nothing like it in the area. The park would also be able to market it as "the first of its kind in Michigan".
  2. Judging by the video above, and by the satellite imagery below, it appears that the Pro Putt Mimi Golf, along with the Pro Putt Mini Golf Both was removed. In the video, you can see the row of vending machines that sat alongside the booth, between the foot long hot dog booth. If the Pro Putt booth was still there, you wouldn't be able to see the vending machines. Also, a lot of tree removal had occurred. Also, the clearing definitely occurred where Pro Putt was located as Vortex is clearly seen in the background. So,I'm very positive that Soaring Timbers in being installed where Pro Putt was located. It may be hard for some that Pro Putt was removed but, it had a great 23 years of use, which was quite long for a mini golf course of its size and location.
  3. No, it was Dragon Fire at Canada's Wonderland which is an Arrow Custom Looping Coaster. Did you enjoy the first launch coaster you rode?
  4. But, you're one hour closer to being at an amusement park! I find that going back an hour in the Fall is worse than going an hour forward.
  5. Canada's Wonderland has officially given us a hint as to where Soaring Timbers will be installed! It looks like the life of Pro Putt mini golf course has come to an end. I'm hoping they plant more trees in the area to really give Soaring Timbers that "soaring timbers" effect. Soaring Timbers Teaser Photo: Photo Credit: Canada's Wonderland via Facebook
  6. Interestingly enough, the above rendering for Electro Spin was from the Paramount Era when Shockwave at Canada's Wonderland was introduced in 2001. But, the photos that Carowinds has released of Electro Spin during construction look great! I really like the metallic colours on the back of the gondolas.
  7. How right you are about that not being padding. I didn't look at it too closely earlier. Although, now that I have looked at the photo more closely, I do notice that the seat padding is behind the mechanism, that is rested on the seats.
  8. I would say so considering how the seat padding looks slightly worn from being used.
  9. I was just hoping that this would be a start to some great theming. Although, I was quite impressed with the installations of Skyhawk and Flying Eagles last year. As for where Soaring Timbers might go, I've heard that it may be going where Pro Putt in International Festival is. Although, nothing has been confirmed yet. We'll just have to wait and see. EDIT: Upon further inspection of the recent conceptual art that was released, it does appear that Soaring Timbers does in fact have a wood grain look as the brown paint does not appear to be solid.
  10. Yes, it sure does. Although, I'm slightly disappointed how it appears that the "wooden look" as seen in the original conceptual art has been removed. Hopefully Soaring Timbers looks pleasantly appealing like the other rides at the park. Original Soaring Timber Conceptual Art: Photo credit: Canada's Wonderland
  11. Canada's Wonderland has recently released some new conceptual art for Soaring Timbers and Muskoka Plunge, along with their logos. 12. Honestly, even if I wasn't directly involved, I don't know how I'd react seeing something like that firsthand, even being as big of a coaster nut as I am. Unless I know what it's like to see something like that, i don't feel I should judge whether their reaction is appropriate or not. I fully agree with you that being in the vicinity of a traumatic event would be horrifying. I also acknowledge that the train derailed from the track and landed upside down, nearly missing people below. I've seen some rather horrific accidents occur on the road but, that hasn't stopped me from travelling. But, I do respect the decision of people to exclude themselves from such activities that most find fun and enjoyable due to horrific circumstances. I will also admit that my previous comments were kind of out of line and insensitive as I have not experienced or witnessed a roller coaster derailment myself. I will admit that would be completely horrifying and traumatic. One thing I've never come to fully understand is why do people automatically assume that all amusement parks are dangerous once they see this stuff in the media? I hear a lot of crap when I go to amusement parks and how people try to relate a specific incident to the park they're at. I just feel that the media brainwashes people into believing that a certain activity is dangerous by blowing it out of proportion, when it really is quite safe.
  13. These quotes are from the first article in snoflake15's post. I find this article, especially these statements to be quite extreme and overblown. I mean sure, M&D's coasters may not be the safest according to reports but, that doesn't mean everyone else's coasters are dangerous as well. You're more likely to die on your way to an amusement park than at the amusement park itself. Some parents are extremely over protective and wonder why their children become easily bored in life. If you are the one on the train back then, I highly doubt you will ever go on a coaster without having any flashbacks. Just about any roughness from the track can freak you out so much that you will probably feel like the train is falling off. I agree, the experience of a coaster derailing would be completely unnerving and quite traumatic for all those involved. I just find it odd and somewhat annoying how someone who was not involved with the traumatic experience would immediately exclude themselves from riding a roller coaster and accuse other coaster of being unsafe. I'm glad everyone from the incident was able to walk away alive. I also hope this coaster does not open again due to the respect of the people involved.
  14. Yes, I rode The Bat at Canada's Wonderland many times last year. Approximately, how many times have you been up the Eiffel Tower at Kings Island?
  15. Unfortunately, Huss has not come out with an updated version of the UFO ride, yet. Although, I do hope Huss does come out with a newer version of the UFO as they're an amazing ride. I just greatly enjoy Nightmares at Canada's Wonderland. Sadly I researched it and the original UFO died with the original company. The HUSS that we know now is not the huss that made most of darien lakes rides. Yes, I'm highly aware of that. But, it is possible that the "new" Huss could re-produce this wonderful classic. You have to stay optimistic.

Yes, one of my friends who doesn't always no how to say no to riding coasters. 16. Your home park is getting a new B&M and YOU get to pick what type. Do you want an invert/hyper/dive/floorless/flyer/wing/standup? All of the above is not an option. I would like to see a nice B&M Flying coaster at Canada's Wonderland. 17. Name your favorite Vekoma. Firehawk (Vekoma Flying Dutchman) at Kings Island. Second would be the Vekoma Invertigo. 18. What water ride delivers the most unacceptable amount of wetness? Timberwolf Falls at Canada's Wonderland or Thunder Canyon at Dorney Park. 19. If you were able to help design a coaster would you want it to focus on airtime or inversions/positive G's? Unlimited-front-of-the-line access to my favourite coaster at my home park. 22. You just got drowned by a flume/rapids/chute-the-chutes. Do you pay the $$ for the dryer machine or do you continue on with your day trudging around like soggy dog? Continue my day trudging around because I know I will eventually will dry out. 23. You choose... Raptor. 25. Favorite (non-clone) dark ride? Wonder Mountain's Guardian at Canada's Wonderland. 26. What was your favorite park you visited in 2016? If we're not counting my home park, then I would have to say Kings Island! 27. What's your current credit count? Don't be shy. Approximately 40 or so coasters. 28. Winner winner chicken dinner! You just won a trip with hotel and airfare included. The catch is its only good for Six Flags America or Mt Olympus. Which do you choose? Six Flags America. 29. What is the best Intamin coaster you have ridden? Possessed at Dorney Park, the only one I've been on so far. I loved the launch and the holding brake! 30. Your home park has to remove one coaster and one flat for an expansion. Which two rides would you be OK with losing? Well, one of them isn't a flat but, I would like to see Flight Deck and Time Warp removed. But, if a ride also had to be removed, I wouldn't mind Windseeker going. 31. Song/music you've heard playing at a park that absolutely has not business being played in a theme park? New music. I prefer the classics from the 1970's and 1980's. 32. There's 5 minutes before the park closes. You choose to: Reride your favorite coaster in the park, OR get the new kiddie/junior coaster credit? I would re-ride my favourite coaster in the park. 33. 20. I appreciate the improvements and new additions Canada's Wonderland is adding for the 2017 season. We can't always have a new roller coaster. The time for a new roller coaster will eventually come.
  21. Yes, I believe Kings Island does offer a twilight admission ticket as I had arrived after 6:00pm during both visits to the park (July 2014 and June 2016). I had declined the offer because I had made plans to visit for that night and the next day so, I bought the two-day admission ticket to cover both days. I hope this helps with your inquiry. Oh they offer two day admission? Perfect. It doesn't show it on the website so I just purchase it at the gate? Yes, you purchase it at the gate. I believe it can be purchased online as well, but only once the full operating days and hours begin. But, I had purchased my two day admission ticket at the gate, even though it was available online. I found it was a better deal than paying the Twilight ticket and then a full day admission ticket. EDIT: I just checked on their website and the two day admission ticket is available now.

  24. That's correct, the ridership is not surprising. I thought everyone would have clued in on that by the way it was worded but, clearly not. Thanks for the clarification for the other members!
