The above photo of The Bat was taken this past weekend during Bank Days which are held on weekends in late April. These days are for bank employees, their families, and their friends. -

The colors look better, but I feel that it looks too similar to other rides, the special color choice, made the ride a little more unique. Well, the red and black was The Bat's original colours. I'm quite sure the reason as to why The Bat was repainted for the 2008 season was because they had a lot of paint left over from Behemoth. But, since that paint faded and chipped over the past eight years, it was time to give The Bat a fresh coat of paint, at a no better time than its 30th anniversary. Vortex received a fresh coat of paint last year for its 25th anniversary last year. I'm all for making the rides look great and appealing! -

Over the weekend, Canada's Wonderland released some photos of Soaring Timbers and Muskoka Plunge under construction. Soaring Timbers appears to have some beautiful landscaping, including a water fall feature located in front of the ride! The testing process doesn't take too long. I remember back in 2015 that Typhoon and Splash Station were both under construction until a couple of weeks before Splash Works opened for the season in late May. I expect Muskoka Plunge to be fully constructed by the same time. I am more curious as to how Soaring Timbers in coming along because there has been no information released about its progress. But, I assume it'll be ready for Season Pass Sneak Preview Night in a little more than a week's time on Friday, April 28th. -

Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread
Johnlloyd replied to OzCatter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They're really not comparable. It's called International Plaza because the park is themed to 5 different regions of the world, so International Plaza acts as your starting point. Of course, KI's and KD's top Worlds of Fun's. they really couldn't top a 300ft. tall tower with a gorgeous fountain display in front of it. But it's extremely nice and spaced out. What tops the International Street at Kings Island and Kings Dominion and the International Plaza at Worlds of Fun is the International Street at Canada's Wonderland! It has the beautiful Royal Fountains and majestic Wonder Mountain standing tall greeting all who enter the park. But, I do find it interesting how many parks that opened in the 1970's and 1980's were themed to many parts of the World, many of which still obtain these themes to this day. Some very spectacular architecture found throughout parks was created in result of such theming, which I greatly enjoy! -

Well, the old Canada's Wonderland site design was in use since its introduction in 2012. It wasn't very mobile friendly so it (along with all the Cedar Fair park websites) received an update to accommodate mobile device usage. It'll take some time getting use to but, it's all for the best. -

Along with a website update yesterday, Canada's Wonderland also released their 2017 park map. For those wondering how to access the park map, navigate the "Play" tab on Canada's Wonderland's website and select one of the ride category options. Under the selected ride category, select the "map" view. Below are screenshots of the 2017 park map showcasing the two new attractions for 2017 which are Soaring Timbers and Muskoka Plunge. Soaring Timbers (replaced Pro Putt; 1993-2016): Muskoka Plunge (replaced Body Blast; 1992-2016): -

I do this constantly. Yeah but 80 percent of the time the person isn't talking about an actual coaster and just using it as a metaphor for life. I agree, especially when in reference to the weather! -

When you hear the word "roller coaster" and immediately turn your head in that direction. -

I will be there for Season Pass Sneak Preview Night. If you would like to meet up, you can join me for an evening of fun at the park! I would come but the GO Bus service doesn't start until opening day, and last time was a nightmare. It took us about 1 hour and 30 minutes to get there on the york region transit, but on the way back that bus wasn't running so we took almost 2 hours of local busses. And this year they have the bring a friend day on preview night so it would probably be pretty busy too... The only busy year that I recall was the 2015 Season Pass Sneak Preview Night, which was the first year Canada's Wonderland had introduced the bring a friend passes. Last year (2016) was great and not busy at all since the weather was cool. This year may be the same, or rainy. So, it may not be as busy as you may think. -

Wonder Mountain does get quite grimy and dirty but, that is due to the weather and pollution. I'm not too sure if it was repainted recently but I do know that it does get repainted (in sections) and cleaned every so many years. -

I've lost my fear of heights over the past few years and can ride any ride now. I broke out into a sweat watching that video. But, I don't break out into a sweat when on roller coasters or tall rides as I am securely restrained. I agree that the not being restrained in the video is what gets me as well. That is one job that isn't for me! -

Who the F*** is that tool? I would lay down on the train tracks if I had to hang out with that guy for an entire morning. I appreciate the ending of Adventure Express since it is all functional. I think it could be more, but its better than just having a traditional chain lift in a tunnel. -

Carowinds Discussion Thread
Johnlloyd replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Looking at the photo of Electro Spin from last night that carolinaman had posted, it appears that Carowinds had removed the paint job on the main support arm that was there when the park had shared construction photos of Electro Spin. It's nothing overly important but, I thought I would just point it out. Electro Spin will look beautiful once fully completed as the seat backs have beautiful lights that really shine at night, especially if it has the flickering lights just like the ones on Shockwave at Canada's Wonderland. -

Helps that there aren't any Boomerangs nearby. The nearest one is at SFSTL, with the next closest ones being at Hershey and WoF. The end of April removal would allow a renovation before/during a potential move The Bat at Canada's Wonderland and Boomerang at Darien Lake would like a word with you. But yes, Michigan's Adventure would be a good home for Knott's Berry Farm's Boomerang as there's nothing like it in the area. The park would also be able to market it as "the first of its kind in Michigan". Or Six Flags New England & Lake Compounce You kind of went too far. But, if you're including those Boomerang coasters, we might as well bring Le Boomerang at La Ronde into the mix. According to Bing maps, They're 41.1 miles away from each other. La Ronde is over 300 miles from SFNE. In regards to my response to you of being too far, I was only referring to the Boomerang coasters being closest to Michigan's Adventure, not the parks you had mentioned.
